- NOTE: Since this video was published, Deleks got back to me and explained the email I used was not working and apologised. They have just sent me two new struts so I will get these installed as soon as they arrive.
We needed it...... we bought the Deleks Mini Dumper MD400BS to partner up with the 1 tonne mini excavator to allow us to get some serious landscaping and building work done on our off grid home build.
We un pallet, put together and take it to site for real life testing.
Ian & Julie are building their biggest project of their lives - a Passive House Container Home which will be totally off grid, alongside their tiny homestead allowing them to live as close to self sufficient as possible in the heart of the French Pyrenees.

Have used the mini dumper for 14 months.
It has been used and abused in an industrial setting, construction site.
It has moved hundreds of tons of material.
Beliw bullet points.
- original tyres. Added slime to avoid punctures. Not one since added.
- lifting of dumper to unload meant oil in cylinder, stuck valve and goidbye b&s engine. My bad.
Fitted a loncin engine. Perfect fit. Chinese . €380 euros fitted.
Would recommend getting cheapest engine fitted, if it goes , put in a loncin.
-All in all, a great piece of kit. I cane my gear. It has to work. This dumper does
It is a great machine and wish we bought it 2 years ago. The electrics are a bit flimsy but I will reroute and get them sorted. Good tip on the motor. Thanks ☺️

Hi guys I have the exact same dumper but branded as a cryteck. I have loaded with way over 300kg and it has never skipped a beat also its torque is unbelievable on slopes with full loads. I also added a tow ball so I can move about my trailers and it will easily pull a trailer loaded with a ton bag. Also used it to tow a car out of my drive alone an a few occasions. I may do a review myself as it really is an amazing bit of kit
It is great and I am going to fit the tow ball (not in stock at present) as I have so many trailers I need moving around and when they are loaded it is heavy work.
T30 or T40 what you use?

I know, I quite enjoyed watching her struggle with the barrow 🤣
When I built my shed I had to move 14 tons of 3/4” blue stone 200’. With a wheelbarrow I wish I had this. Awesome video sir.
We did the same, moved tonnes of gravel with a normal barrow THEN bought this......argh!! 🤣

We are chuffed to bits with it - saves so much time.
Had one very similar to yours for 4 years now and still going strong. To steer you must stand forward between the handles and pull the handles up as this is much easier and will save your back. Also try to stop on a flat level surface especially on full load otherwise the gears will lock and it's very difficult to change to reverse without a lot of pulling or pushing to free the gearbox. A hydro gear barrow would be much better but are more expensive. For me a great bit of kit and a perfect match for my mini digger.

Thank you for this it answers all my ‘operator’ issues. I totally get what you say about the gears sticking now I know what to do. They sure are a great unit to have I struggle going downhill forwards so always turn around and go backwards to stop it feeling like it’s going to tip forward ….. think we would be lost with out it now.

Great job as always. See if you can find some alternate gas struts that are more heavy duty.
They are sending replacements but I do like the idea of making a hydraulic ram for the tipper.
Thanks for the video! This made me confident enough to order one of theese. There´s a lot of different brands and companies to choose from.
We are using it all the time - some of the words have popped off but I will re terminate and secure them a little better. But it is a great workhorse.
I looking to seeing more of the mini dumper in your videos. I wonder if a safety chain on the dump bucket would help to save the hydraulic struts from takin a big hit when dumping the heavier loads?
Yes, it may do. I think I may have loved it quite full. 2 new struts on their way though, so I will be more gentle
looks like a nice bit of kit those brake/clutch levers if you move them forward about an inch so when pulled they line up with the the handle should stop the bypass stopping you looks like it might turn out more comfortable as well but not certain

Deleks did get back to me and apologised - they are sending me two new struts.
WOW this is a treat for us its only Wednesday, do you have your days mixed up?glad you got something to help you with the dirt instead of your back ouch!!! Or your mini wouldn't want to see you fall into that hole in the back of the garage. Us older people need all the help we can find. Judy got her a new play toy she won't let you play with it lol

I have bought an old Thwaites dumper with a petter 2 cylinder engine its a good workhorse !
They do not look that useful until you start using them - great addition to the big tools.
This has nothing to do with anything you guys are doing over there but both of your combined enthusiasm is pushing me to get off my chair & actually stop procrastinating. I just recently bought only the Hydraulic/Air 8ton Long Stroke Ram Jack Engine Crane, Lift Hoist (HR8AH) without the rest of the engine hoist frame as I need this one to do different types of work than it was originally designed for as this one uses compressed air, it ended up costing me around $190 AUD or 120.389 EUR shipping included. If I had of bought a purpose build bending machine & tyre machine it would have cost me upwards of over $10,000 AUD OR 6,500 EUR so thank you both very much for the inspiration & the savings that have come with it.
I need to build a roll-cage for an EV I'm slowly building. To make it bend steel pipe I need to make a pulley that the pipe will wrap around so when the pulley is turned like a steam loco wheel it will bend the pipe at any angle I need. Of course I'll have to make a pipe bending frame so that the air ram jack will work & I also need to build another frame that pivots like a M shaped seesaw to help put tyres on rims as I can't physically do all the bending manually & I can't even put a tyre on a rim as my Osteoarthritis makes things very difficult.
I could have done with something like that - I had a roll cage put in my little rally car and took it down to Barcelona where they upped a laser around inside to get the dimension and €400 later the cable was built. But I do want to start more fabrication work once the new garage is done.
@@HomesteadingUncontained As I'm on a government disability pension which is not much to live on every 2 weeks I put a bit aside to do projects on the side with maximum saving instead of buying a professionally built machines as anything like that is out of my price range.
I found a video called A Budget Way to Build a Tube Bending Die on JD's Garage TH-cam channel which I can easily duplicate. Check out the video as you might get some ideas from it also. With my pulley die I'll fabricate it a different way by sandwich welding plates together & use a drill to spin the plates with another drill to use a holesaw or angle grinder to make the curved pulley die.
Seems a nice, well-priced dumper. It's about 30% more in the US due to duties.
It was about €100 cheaper than the equivalent Scheppack unit but with the Briggs and Stratton motor - I think it was a good price too 😀
Looks like it is well made, pity about the struts failing. Tipper must be balance as it looked effortless lifting when full of large stones.
Yes, it tips well. The Deleks video says to move forward and then release the catch and come to sudden stop and it should tip itself.... they is a knack to it but not mastered it yet. 🤣
Besides all the below , I would be tempted to add a brace between the handle bars in front of the grips & foam inside the handle bars just incase you have to man handle it at any time

Yes, good idea. When it tips forward fast the handlebars do tend to raise a little.
Hi Ian I have exact power wheelbarrow as you have and it really works well . But I have had the same problem with the strutts . You are also right about after sales not there strong point . I ended up getting a friend who has an engineering firm and he made me to super strong struts it's annoying that I had to go down this route but the company took so long to get back I decided to get stronger made ones as I needed the barrow .I got hydraulic ones and had to fit a hydraulic pump pipes and but it was really worth the effort. The original ones broke exact same area as I seen yours at the bottom ring to be fair they were not very well made for the machine . Goodluck hope you enjoy it as it shifts a lot in a day and can climb steep banks one other thing to mention is with my re4heavy duty hydraulic actuators it makes it easy to empty heavy loads .I don't know where you can buy any as I had to get them made to fit but any engineering shop in France could make them and make them hydraulic for you.
Now you have got me thinking - that would be perfect. I will try and find a similar unit here. How are you powering the hydraulic pump.

Cheers, yes, there is no physical brake just the motor and releasing the clutch makes it stop dead.
i wonder if an atv with pull behind dump bucket would have been easier. mine hauls 4x what yours carries.
What does an ATV cost, around €15K then the dump trailer, around €2K. this little dumper cost €1400. We only have s certain budget and it is not a massive site. 😀
Interesting little machine and useful for hill farmers who like my father and brother have yards built into the side of a hill and this would be useful for carting much out of the sheds etc.. Off topic, but I really like your silver/grey box van trailer seen in the background at 7:12. If you know offhand, would you mind kindly sharing what brand and model it is? It looks really nice. Being from the Corwen area (not Cynwyd), the Ifor Williams trailers are very familiar and I recognise those in an instant. I think I also saw a Debon trailer too.
This little dumper has been working well, specially for Julie and allows me to carry on digging etc. The trailers are from REBEL trailer in the netherlands. I have two but one I have had to replace the floor (upcoming video) which I was not happy about. Great for what we do with the bikes though. We have an Ifor Williams builders trailer and a horse box (from the UK when we came over). And a local car trailer converted to general purpose flat bed. Too many trailers...... 🤪

Great video,from Ireland was enquiring to deleks about exact same dumper with yamaha key start,i see u just had few issues with gas struts but overall what wud u rate dumper,they saying 3 year's warranty with it also
We use it all the time and the Briggs & Stratton starts 1st time every time. I added the tow bar attachement and that is great. They sent me new gas struts but I have not refitted them, they are not really needed. I have 3 Derek's bits of kit and all of of good quality - PS no affiliation to them 😀

Hi, May I ask why you chose a wheelbarrow with wheels instead of tracks?
We have two other tracked vehicles and they tend to tear up the land when you turn them. We didn't want this for the dumper as we will be using it on finished land, grass etc. The wheels do not tear it up at all.
Ah, now I understand your comment Ian about the dumper. I got the Hyundai, its out of action for second time in two weeks. The 6 tyres didn't have sufficient pressure and tore themselves against the inner tube valve stem necessitating new tubes. Hyundai are looking into why you have to remove all wheels and hubs just to inflate the tyres. I'm way ahead of them . . . Poor design 😡 I have loaded it to the max with type 1 to be fair 🤣
Blimey, 6 wheels. It is easy to keep loading it up - I think that is why the struts broke on mine.
Are those rubber or plastic wheels. And how steep can it climb
Rubber inflated tires, similar to a normal wheel barrow. That bank is about 30º. Not sure I want to go steeper, maybe if it was empty.
Nich little machine. Maybe you had a bit more than 250kg in the bucket. Just replace it with some proper chains.
Yes, Think so - the Scheppach equivalent does not have any struts or chains. So it may be ok without - 2 new struts on their way though.
I have the deleks minidumper with Briggs and Stratton engine
Used and abused in construction site. Interior excavations mainly and loaded to the max .
Issues. Crappish tyres. Put anti-puncture liquid in innertube.
When tipping I lift machine to tip the load. Problem is oil in cylinder. Oil burns onto spark plug and misfires. Entirely my fault. Just change spark plug and go
Engine bullet proof otherwise.
The dampers on the tipper lasted 5 minutes. Works without them.
I removed the safety device on left handle. Easy to do. Work it out.

The struts are crap.
Remove them, unnecessary.
It sounds high reving. Try to have it at 2800-3000 rpm at max throttle.
I got them to send two new ones, just because they did break. Yes the left hand red lever is somehow, not working 😉 I will check the revs, probably because Julie has not taken it out of choke. Nice little unit though, I really want to add a hydraulic ram.. another guy did this to his.
Howdy from Texas. Looks like a perfect little landscaping set up. I’ve been watching your channel for awhile. How much is the whole set with the gas powered wheel barrel and mini excavator?
