I tried a simpler method on my own ef2000i : removing the studs only, which (I thought ) would work just fine, just as it does for other small
engines of similar design. Well, both studs were jammed tight by some
locking agent...so finally I had to remove all that stuff, too.
But with the carb out , I then persuaded the studs to un-screw, using strong
new visegrips. Stud threads were then anti-seized and are now easily removed using the 2-nuts trick. It now takes five minutes to get that carb out, no need to remove anything beforehand, except the service panel + air box.
I found that service panel quite hard to pull out ... not anymore with a bit of dielectric grease applied to its 3 'prongs'
Just bought mine and have a question :are these things as reliable as other Yamaha products ? I see there's no oil pump in there...

Thanks. Main jet clogged up on my 2000is and I was not sure how much I needed to pull apart to get the carb off... simple easy. Thanks again.

This is the first video that shows you have to remove the screws on the ends. I was going crazy. Thank you!!!

This is crazy. You can just take out the two studs the carburetor is mounted on. Lol. You don’t have to disassemble the whole machine. Lol. Hilarious

I have one and the carb keeps getting clogged with sand even though I put a mat down. Bad design!

Would have appreciated some verbal explanations of what you were doing. Merely pointing doesn't always cut it.

Exactly what I was thinking!! What a waste to not verbally give tips!

After you undo the two screws on the top corners, just got to pull the middle section harder. but pay attention not to bend the plastic! It's only a push fit, but very tight when new.

Start at 5:00 to skip the obvious taking apart.
    I agree, you should speak.

This is a good video but yamaha is from hell. Glad i watched this before buying yamaha.. And yes, it is necessary to remove the screws on the ends like the all other similar brands (Honda, Kipor, Zipper, etc.,)

This is an easier way of removing the carburetor on a Yamaha EF2000iS without removing so much stuff:

Just do the exact opposite of what you did to remove the carburetor.
