I have a 2003 Honda 450 Foreman with a foot shift………… love it! Absolutely love it. I bought mine for hunting and trail riding. I’d like to get into Atv camping as well. Couldn’t ask for a better machine, IMO. Good choice on machines, man.
Thanks. I had an 06 rancher 350es before this. It was a solid machine I just didn’t care for the full time 4x4 and electric shift. But it did go everywhere I wanted it to.
That's what I'm considering. I'm torn between the foot shifter and the DCT though. I'm concerned about reliability. Are you still enjoying it and is everything working like it should? Thanks!
I want a 2024 Fourman ES and PS. I have a 2004 Fourman 450 ES with 9000 miles and $ 85 in repairs and now I just had new breaks after 20 years of working it very hard and I absolutely believe in Hondas 💯
We have an old foreman at the job site. This thing starts 0.2 seconds after you hit the start button, EVERY, TIME, even after months without use and still going strong.
Good information for me, as I’m considering a purchase of something similar to this for getting around on my tree farm. Never had an atv or utv, and I’m trying to learn as much as possible.
Yea I almost bought a tan one same as mine but someone applied for it after I left the dealer, I’m lucky it went that way cause I wound up getting the exact bike in the color I wanted.
@@_E.S.C._ There is a lot of difference. The IRS tends to lean more in corners and on traversing slopes, but is a far more cushy ride, especially in rough terrain. The solid rear axle is superior for stability and hauling a trailer/plow/etc, as the weight is resting directly on the axle/wheels instead of the suspension. If you tow on the IRS model, all the weight is on the suspension.
Been wanting this exact model/color as it's the cheapest Honda with diff lock and I don't want IRS. Wish they offered it with ES without EPS though, I got spoiled with ES on my Rancher 350. Though it's just one more thing that can break.
Hello just have a question do you like the foot shift models just wondering why you didn't decide to go with the Rubicon with independent suspension and you can get a model that is foot shift or I personally would have went with the Rubicon independent suspension in the back gives you better ground clearance and it is less maintenance can you get a disc break in the back instead of drum but that definitely is a beautiful bike you have
Yea I like the footshift models, feels more satisfying to drive and it’s just simpler. The rubicon has more moving parts and is just outright more expensive. It’s a lot harder to find a footshift rubicon as well so those are my reasons. I’d say price is the main reason but the ride quality and ground clearance isn’t enough to justify the extra cost .
@@trailspeed7037 okay definitely you can definitely get them brand new if you order them but I do agree with you they are more expensive some people don't mind paying the extra some people don't want to but definitely the foreman is a very good bike I had a 2007 Foreman electric shift I loved it also had a 2006 Honda Foreman foot shift I like that one too but they're all good quality strong bikes you don't go wrong with any Honda you buy
I have had several honda foreman 4X4 with the straight rear axle. And never had any issues or maintenance issues. I currently have a 2023 honda foreman 520 foot shift transmission and no power steering. I personally think it's an all-around great ATV for the money and bulletproof. I am 59 years old now and still enjoy going four wheeling. I looked at the honda rubicon with power steering and electric shift transmission. And to me, the msrp of $12,000 for a rubicon with independent suspension and power steering and electric shift transmission just wasn't worth the money . The rubicon is much heavier and, in my opinion, just isn't any better than the foreman with a straight axle.
They change oil and filter, and adjust the valves. I did this myself, you bascically have to remove seat, gas tank and computer to get to the valves, Basically strip it down to the frame to gain access to the valves.
I’m looking at getting something similar. I might get the power steering just to keep my girlfriend happy, otherwise I’d leave that out too. I like that fact that they’re super similar to my 86’ fourtrax. Foot shift, solid axel, beast that you can beat the shit out of.
What sucks is most of these and the rubicons go 46 mph stock which is shit to me I want mine to top out at 53 I've looked up different ones I guess once you take out the Rev limiter it will go faster
@@trailspeed7037 so the dct type are slower I just practiced on my buddies honda it was manual it wasn't to hard to drive it was easy to learn but I'd rather have automatic

Have you had any issues with the electric shifting? I want reliability and I'm debating between the foot shifter and DCT or ES. Thanks!
I bought the cargo box at Bass Pro and it is perfect for me on my Honda.

Is there not much difference in irs vs sra?

Mine is the same color a 2024 Honda Rancher 420 4x4 es...I've put 42 miles on it in 7 months
Good deal on a used 4wheeler these days? Unheard of. Better Off buying new
I have a 2006 honda foreman 500 ive been wanting to upgrade to a new one just like yours just basic jo power steering or anything
No*

Looks good. I didn’t realize you can get the straight axle on the foreman. Been debating on the rancher or the foreman.
Yea the foreman rubicon is the only one that comes with IRS.
How's the shifting for you?
Shifts great

And also like mine has a pin you push in and pull the brake to go into reverse is it the same on the new ones ?
They got rid of the push button reverse switch it’s got a lever now
Good vid dude 🙌🏻 good lookin bike too
I have the same one just got it
What do they do on this "first service" exactly?
They change oil and filter, and adjust the valves. I did this myself, you bascically have to remove seat, gas tank and computer to get to the valves, Basically strip it down to the frame to gain access to the valves.
Very Nice Ride

I like the newer green color a lot better

Any problems with the button shifting?
When is the 1st required service?
Within 20hrs or 100miles. Whichever comes first. I hit 100 miles with only about 12 hrs.
Is there no power steering? Are they hard to drive without power steering?
@@grasscutter88 mine doesn’t have power steering. It’s a $1000 option that I don’t need or want. Steers fine without it even with my 28s
Nice rig.
I got same one in red. Does yours shift hard

13 hours, darn thing is wore out. Get a new one.
I will take that old scrap off your hands, give ya a buck 2.89.
Lmao it’s got about 100hrs now, and 580miles
