This is probably the only nickleback song that I listened to at the time and its still the only song of theirs that makes me like their music. If anyone can recommend another song by them that hits the same way, I could be pushed to become a fan of them. Regardless, i loved this song as a 2000s tennager and am so thankfull that the band put so much effort and emotion into it. I think it's hard to tap into that teenage feeling that demands edgyness and the performance of youthful angst while still creating an accessable song which endures across the decades. I'm certain that the band have other songs that they feel are better or more encompasing of their artistic direction, but to me - a former teenager who spent those years solidly in the 2000s, this is their best song and it still slaps to this day, transporting me effortlessly back to that time in my life where things were so simple, but also so f'in complicated. Props to the band, if they ever read this then I hope they know that they were appreciated by at least one person who wasn't a big fan but felt a connection with this song.
