I started in the trucking industry in 1982 with nothing, it's now 2024 and I have most of it left. Stay clear of anyone wanting to charge a fee. They are suppose to pay you when you make delivers not you pay them to work for them.
You are absolutely right, but in some cases as an independent Driver, you will be required to pay for a background check, not all the time but it does happen. There also Logistics Associations that you as an independent Company can become a member of for some benefits and leads. It all depends on what you're doing.

I just applied with doordash yesterday and yet to go try it. I don't have alot of driving exp to be comfortable doin awhole lot atm. Was going to attempt this for like 3mo and if I don't crash my tinny car, was thinking of trying to apply to spark after.
But, given I have the option of both a small car (04) and a (2011) chevi 1500 truck, maybe I'll just skip spark and check these out once I have more self confidence with driving and a dashcam of quality :D (if they don't have issues with the age of what I have options to use)

I’m new to the channel. I also subscribe. Here’s is the major question: which of these companies require that you have commercial insurance . Because that’s a game changer. I have a great driving record and the cheapest commercial insurance i can find is about a $1000 a month
The majority of them accept your regular car insurance.
@@KirksHustleRevolution The problem is that the company may accept your regular car insurance, but if an accident happens your insurance may not cover it knowing it is used for business. You have to have commercial insurance. If you can use your own car insurance no one would pay more for a commercial policy That's what I understand from speaking with the insurance company, maybe your insurance carrier is different. Best to confirm with your insurance company and speak with a lawyer regarding potential liability.

You have to hit assignments to know what it is.
It is a load board. I used to work in logistics. It’s considered a load board.

i had delivery service on a list of business ideas i thought would work around my area, but i know couple independent delivery services of local owners, they went out of business, so maybe its not such a great area for it. lol but i still thought there was a niche to this, maybe prescriptions delivery and small groceries delivery to elderly or handicapped.
but i'd been looking at national companies that did this kinda thing, ones that used local drivers with adequate vehicles, so i could just utilize their system, as that was the biggest obstacle was getting the service known around as far as possible as that is difficult to do without large money costs on adverts.
All areas are different, but there is always need for some type of Courier service wherever you are.

ECA is $900 to join before ANY information is provided = WASTE OF TIME. CDLA is minimum of $500 to join = another waste of time! None of these are real opportunities.
Cdla is a resource tool, they don't offer work. It is an association that networks with Logistics Companies throughout USA, you don't have to pay anything. You may want to recheck it. You Pay CLDA if you own a business like a Courier company and you want to network through them. Same with ECA
And as for ECA, I said the same thing, it's a source of information, you can view the Carriers and Companies they are associated with in your area. My information is good.
You don't have to pay for the information they offer on their website. Do a little more work on your end, a few more key strokes and you will see it.

We can. For example, I spoke about GoShare, and they cover your cargo insurance. If you have your own courier service then you have to meet your State requirements.
Most Apps and Companies cover the cargo insurance.

Depends on the Companies and the time you put in. Anywhere from 200 and up, not including expenses.
Vehicle you would reccomend?
What ever you own, just get started. Smaller sedans are more economical, the bigger the vehicles , let's say vans or pickups, the bigger the jobs.
Is it a good idea to have a LLC?
Do I need it to get started?
It's great for tax benefits especially if you want to get contract work, but not necessary for 1099 work, or W2 . It all depends. Definitely speak to your Accountant about LLC benefits

What age are you asking about?
@@KirksHustleRevolution I have a 2005 Yukon that operates like it's brand new.
Most companies ask that the vehicles not be any older than 10 years. There is one I know of that accepts vehicles up to 22 years old.
The wear and tear on your vehicle will never add up. Not to mention the fuel. Move on.
People are doing this everyday, Myself included. I factor in all my expenses, vehicle maintenance is high priority. This may not work for you my friend but it does work for a countless amount of people everyday.. wish you the best.
