    Thankyou! I've put this off for ages as other videos made it appear hard and I ended up putting the wheel back on. Your video has demystified this job. I'm hoping this will fix our intermittent ac.

      Have to ask...did it fix it? I charged the system a bit and made some difference. But have a feeling it's a pulley issue. Hoping to not need to replace the entire pulley assembly for the AC

    Dealer quoted me $280 to do this job. After seeing this I'll do it myself. Thank you!!

    Short & sweet as always :) I use a long 14 mm wrench and then use an Allen key for my 2007 Sienna...but a drill bit works too!

    Thank you for the video. Given the position of the radiator hose, I'm assuming you have to put the belt on from the top, with your arm coming in from the bottom? And surprise! We bought a 2015 Sienna back in March and kept our 2006 Odyssey EX-L. So now I have more videos of yours to watch! 😁

      That's awesome lol
      You have to kind of feed it down from the top and then slide the belt on the pulleys though the wheel well

      @@MrRangerZr1 Thank you! Yeah we're happy with the van overall. I thought to change the serpentine belt when the A/C shut off due to heavy rains and puddles one day. I'm thinking the belt may have gotten wet and slipped. I'm not hearing noises though. Still, it's $15.

    Just to be clear, I can loosen the pulley with the drill bit in place or do I return it to the original position before loosening?

    you made it very easy. May I have a question ? Do I need to mark the timing belt and crankshaft before removing old timing belt? thanks

    • @bigdavedayday1581
      @bigdavedayday1581 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No lol only if your changing your timing chains. This belt only drives your accesories a/c, water pump, alternator. Just take off, slip new belt on

    • @MrRangerZr1
      @MrRangerZr1  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      this is the drive belt, not timing belt. this engine uses timing chain not a belt btw

      FYI , that tensioner is not easy to change on 2GR-FE engines because alternator and AC compressor needs to come off. And in order to remove an alternator on the Sienna, the radiator needs to come out first. Major pain in ass. You can actually find an aftermarket roller and bearing to replace by itself but not an actual Toyota part. Toyota only sells a complete tensioner assembly with roller and most of the times you do need to change the assembly because the pivot shaft wears out on the tensioner.

  • @jlo5470

    Does this apply to the 2017 2GR FKS also?

  • @1kaigao272

    very very clear. I am looking for a similar video for Toyota highlander. I end up finding that the belt diagram on sienna is same as highlander. Dealer is asking for 250+tax for doing this. Doing myself only needs 40 if I order OEM belt.

  • @sd906238

    Were you able to get the recommended 7PK1550 belt on easily or did you have to use a slightly longer belt?

    • @MrRangerZr1
      @MrRangerZr1  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The one I listed in the description is the correct belt, should go on with no issues.

  • @eulalio02

    Wow is it that easy? Dealership said $1k to fix squeeky belt and water pump. Can I ask why was there a bunch of red coolant leaking? Is that something I need to prepare for?

    • @MrRangerZr1
      @MrRangerZr1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I disconnected the radiator hose when I was changing the alternator so that's the residual coolant leaking you're seeing.

    Quick question - how accessible it is to put the new belt in? I checked the belt location and found there’s very limited space.

    • @MrRangerZr1
      @MrRangerZr1  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not hard at all you'll have space

      Once the belt is loose, it is fairly easy to grab and pull up out of the engine compartment. Then I fed it back down before routing around the top pulleys then getting under the car to do the bottom. Get everything routed and fitted to the other pulleys before going over the tensioner pulley last.

      Just this belt on this car
      Inspect and replace every 60-70k miles

      *_I once had a Mercedes. Zee Germans like to complicate the total HE11 out of everything. And that car was 'German over-engineering 101'. I can only venture to guess that changing the main belt on that car would've cost $2k at the dealer & DIY would take 10 hours!_*
