Yes I agree. Except the crown signia really sucks as far as comfort and ability to see well while driving. Even the rav4 XSE made in Japan is way better than the American and Canadian ones. It’s smoother, quieter, and has tighter steering. The crown sedan is beautiful. Very spacious as well. I haven’t driven one though.
Where it’s built doesn’t matter when you’re talking about reliability. All Toyotas that are either built in Japan or other places are all still using the same high quality parts from the same suppliers
So after testing the JBL a little bit further , it's not that great. Now, The mids and highs are surprisingly decent. But the base completely fell apart and turned into a rattle trap, despite stripping out the bass on certain songs. If you want to hear it Self-destruct play a little game and fitty this is how we do
One weak point of the Crown is the tire. Owners have very limited choices when it comes to finding 225/45/21 size of tire. Only handful of manufacturers produce such tires and as a result they are expensive.
Kirk, After giving us a close look at the Crown sedan, I am doubly confused about Toyota's decision to delete the spare from the Crown Signia. 🤔 In regard to the Hybrid Max, the highly efficient, proven, 240 hp powertrain in the Signia is simpler and far more appealing.🤩
I just bought a 2025 Lexus ES350 F Sport Handling. It listed for 55K, I got it for $52,300. Totally glad I spent the money on the Lexus. Every touch point is quality, soft materials almost everywhere and the ride and response with the V6 is buttery smooth. Acceleration and response in Sport S+ mode is impressive for Lexus. So far getting high 20's mpg and on regular.
@@carsoncunningham7993 I honestly have been going soft on the car until it has 5-600 miles on it. (Lexus recommended). I have punched the throttle while mildly cruising in Sport mode+. It takes off, but not tire chirp/spin observed.
Test drove the Lexus ES350 right after the Crown. The ride quality and isolation was night and day compared to the "Crown". I think the base 19" wheels are too big. Not enough sidewall to soften potholes and road imperfections.
Just bought a '25 ES350 F Sport Handling. Totally nicer car than the Toyota Crown I drove.. Suspension with 19" wheels is a little bouncy on bumps in Sport Modes. Other than that, I love it.
Front and Rear cross traffic alert is for those times when you are parked between 2 trucks/SUVs/Vans and can't see well enough to exit the parking space safely and when you are at an intersection with large vehicles parked at the corners or overgrown bushes or an intersection on a curve and you can't see without sticking your nose out into the intersection.
Thanks for the honest and candid review! I ended up buying a 2025 Toyota Camry LE base with a 16 inch wheels and I easily get 60 miles per gallon in the city. I feel like I got the value of the century with that car. Sure I miss some of the fancy buttons and features featured in the Toyota crown but that car was just under $30,000 before taxes, fees and foolishness and honestly I don't think there is a better value out there for sedans than the base Camry!
Sat in a Crown Signia Limited yesterday. Front seats were so comfortable. Salesman said people were buying the XLEs, not the Limited. My dad bought a 24 RAV4 XSE Hybrid with $3,000 discount
This powertrain is full of compromise. Lots of power and torque but efficiency isnt impressive. And it's heavy which will wear the tires faster. Add in the occasional rough shifts and shuttering, I'd just save a ton and get the Camry, crown limited, or Lexus ES.
Thanks Kirk. We were almost all in on the Signia, but prices here in Canada are so jacked up and on top of that can’t even get the XLE. So now we’re just gonna go ahead and go with our original option which was an RX.
I don’t what Toyota is thinking with some of the decisions on this one. People could spend way less and get a Camry or roughly the same amount (maybe slightly more) and just get an ES. They should have at least included a hatchback trim for some practicality and uniqueness amongst those neighboring sedans and the endless sea of SUVs in the US. Plus the huge 21 inch wheels among the other little drawbacks you touched on are just ridiculous. It’s a shame because I think this does have potential to go that extra mile and be in a very intriguing place but right now it just doesn’t seem worth it to me .
@ I have yeah. It’s nice and all but the signia for all intents and purposes is a regular SUV as opposed to like an actual hatchback or wagon, despite it being called a wagon at times. Neither seem like they’re necessarily bad cars they just exist in strange spots within the market and have some questionable decisions behind them imo.
I've been seriously considering a Crown sedan purchase, but for 50 grand or more, the ride should be uber quiet with little to no wind noise. From what you've described, constant wind noise is an annoyance and a show stopper, IMO. If the Crown sedan was inexpensive and affordable, a bit of wind noise might be expected, but for 50 grand(?!)... forget it. I'd rather save up for a solid, quiet, and relaxing ride from competitors that have specialized in luxury builds. A quiet ride speaks volumes and is part of what defines the feeling of luxury, especially when considering this type of sedan, the amount of time spent in a vehicle over the life of the vehicle, and its excessive price. JMHO.
If only they brought the Crown Sport here. That would have been atleast a different niche market they’d be catering to. The Camry makes this a hard sell
I want to see future gr or camry has 2.4L turpo awd with 5th gen hybrid system that gonna be crazy and price is about under 50k (not sure yet) i just predicted😅.
That ridiculous front grill and two-tone paint job. Ugh. No matter how many times Toyota makes the rounds with their press cars, the Crown twins are flops. This just leaves me shaking my head in disbelief at the number of design oddities and compromises buyers must accept in a car with a very high price point... like a pano roof that doesn't open, among other things.
Stop bashing the two tone brown, it is my favourite colour, lol. I don’t know why everyone is also bashing the hybridmax? I mean 340hp averaging 28mpg in the city is now inefficient? Not everyone wants a typical underpowered econobox. As far as reliability, I guess we will see, but this power train is also in Tacomas and Land Cruisers.
It's not the same powertrain in the Tacoma. Engine yes, but motors and transmission are different. Also since this weighs over 4,300 lbs the 340 is adequate but not impressive. The V6 ES 350 is lighter cheaper and more efficient on the highway.
@@KirkKreifelsI love the ES but it’s not more efficient on the highway either. 32mpg highway for the Crown and 26-28mpg in the city. ES is not getting anywhere close to 30mpg on the highway and 20-22 in the city.
