One of my friend was failed when we were exchange student in Korea, he still stayed till the visa expire. And he retook all classes back home, then graduated with the class.
Isn't that happens in all colleges?? In India we have 3 exams in 1 semester 2 mid-terms and 1 final exam As a Medical student we have hospital duties too for us a year pass in a few days
In Italy we don’t have midterms, but I think that would be actually helpful to keep up with programs and not lag behind. Our exams are very theoretical, some being over 6000 pages of materials, so you have to go pali pali anyways. Other countries in Europe have smaller programs and more practice though.
I'm from Poland and I'm studying medicine and there are subjects when we have to pass before each class or after each class. It means you need to be prepared and focused on every single class. In this semester I had full exam on third meeting of neurology. Plus we have practical classes in hospitals and we must be prepared too.
Yeah it was same in my Engineering course also. 2 mid terms and one Final Exam each semester. Apart from that practical examinations were also there. Plus class tests and assignments 😢
It’s more the pressure of studying. I have heard many foreigners who have said the opposite. I help run a programmatic assessed master right now. Our students already hand in assignments in week 1. You just need to prioritize and learn how to study. Understand your timeline, learn to prioritize and understand what should be memorized, connected logically and learn how to actually memorize that. There’s an easier and faster way to do it. But most schools don’t actually teach children how to study. And that’s what often goes wrong. On top of that, try studying in Eastern Europe or Scandinavia. There’s nothing loosy goosy there. It is equally as tight in Korea. I manage an international masters where the student has to study in 3 or more different universities in Europe. With different cultures and travel. Try calculating in that extra time of travel and moving around during your studies 😅
A semester is always 6 months. I don't understand you. In Spain school year September to May, has 175 school days, after discounting holidays and weekends.

But having exams after 4 weeks is normal. 😅 the whole program is designed like that. The last week is exams and the week after that you start with new topics.

And we have six subjects for11th grade😣
In India, I studied at an autonomous college. We had 4 months to complete a semester with 4 exams (3 internal exams and 1 semester exam). If we didn't perform well in the internal exams, they would add an extra exam in between 😫
oh pls don't mention Europe, it's embarrassing. We have the most difficult universities in the world, the Italian academic system is crazy, since middle school kids are pressured by schools, by professors to study like machines

Actually, I studied in Korea and some of the classes were really easy😂 Maybe the class made easier for the exchange student. Also I took classes with mainly Korean students, and one of the classes had a lot of exams and presentations. The class was taught in English and my group was two Korean students. My group was so nice to me and we grabbed coffee together. They did all the research and I had to revise the presentation. I had to present by myself, which it was fine. When I went to the 24 hours cafe at night to write my essays, Korean students were studying and doing their homework. The cafe was full and this lovely couple let me join their table ^^
