Off-road is more fun. The smallest rock in the road makes the Rally spin out, just like the Corvette does. That body though.... My favorite 4-tec body so far. Keep up the good work!
I am a rc technician at RPG hobby shop there's so much more you have to work on this car to have it do speed runs other wise a great beginner rc car for spec racing and club racing

Well, if it’s stock, you’re going to want to run a 2S LiPo battery. Go with 5000mah. You can go with a Traxxas battery, but you’ll have to buy a Traxxas charger…. You could buy just a regular old 2S 5000mah battery and charger, but you’ll need an adapter to go from your battery to the TRX connector on your ESC. Some Traxxas vehicles come with batteries. Just not this one.

A 3.0 with TSM would be ideal. I guess you could put in an AVC receiver instead. That body is damn nice though (was?). Road cars are not ideal for me though, I'm too lazy to go out and find a parking lot or something where I can use it hahaha (my driveway is all dirt).
This is my first RTR Traxxas Anything and most likely will also be my last, lol... I would prefer a roller since the brushed crap is pretty much 🗑 Trash. 🤦♂️ I am also about to rip out all the electronics and put in Arrma 3S motor and ESC combo. 😅🤦♂️ Hopefully no body damage, lol, I would like to keep it looking good and hopefully the market with produce something cool that van become a bashing body... 😁👍🏼 Good job 10th Scale Team and I think we need to create drift rims with our 2D printing skills... Anybody who buys it has to be crazy to pay that much for a brushed car with barely any tunability. Even my trusty ol' VRX (FTX and Team Integy in the states???) Sword BRUSHLESS is cheaper then that, has turnbuckles, CVDs and even full metal diffs.
Make it faster but it’s uncontrollable ? Tires aren’t the problem; lift is. Chassis can’t handle it. Traxxas obviously knows the limits of this model. That’s why they stuck with a brushed 2s motor. It is what it is; a 25mph road car.
You should at least break in the brushed motor properly. But even then none of the brushed motors available today are anything like the good brushed Trinity or Reedy motors from the mid 2000's. It's sad because people think this is all brushed motors can do.

Wish ya had first run it stock with optional gearing to see if you could get 30MPH+ Personally, I've struggled to reach Traxxas' MPH claims on my vehicles using good GPS/GPSS to track the speed. Anyone know if the 4-Tec 2.0 and 3.0 vehicles always have issues with spinning out at higher speeds or is this simply b/c the tires aren't properly glued? I'm still on the fence with getting a 4-Tec but was thinking of maybe pulling the trigger on the new Toyota Supra 3.0. One hobby shop today told me they just got their order in today and are selling them! We'll see...
@@10thScaleGarage I have a redcat lightning that has the same 5900kv motor with a 150amp surpass Hobby esc. On 2s I was able to push the car to 85mph. SkyRc confirmed. Mod1 gearing, 25pinion 24spur. I blew the esc up only running 2s due to HIGH amp draw and no Cap pack, ripple voltage kills. So 120amp esc needs to be reconsidered when doing speed runs. Love the content of your channel as it keeps me in check to still play with the bashers.
Bros... the wife picked up 2 of the 4tec 3.0 hot rods when they had the sale on them and i tested the speed and thought of this vid.... okay so WITH the optional 22t "speed" pinion on a 5800mah 80c 2s battery and an absolutely perfect surface that bad boy managed a blistering 24mph........ yep, 24mph and i gotta say Traxxas has done it once again with thier claimed speed. Brutally incorrectly. Kinda like that rustler vxl i got a couple years back. That bitch isnt doing 70 without atleast upgrading the tires on top of retuning the suspension pretty decently. 2 years and i never saw that rustler go more then 68mph.. not saying they cant but sure as shi5 not with just a pinion change like they claim. Anyway take it easy. Hope you enjoy my 24mph speed run info there. Brutal.
Ps. Bought a big rock. Nailed thier claimed 50mph on the box with a smaller battery then they say is required with absolutely nothing changed. Box stock. Gotta love honesty. Goes a long way.

I do the same to all my RC products upgrade them I keep brushless systems and radios in stock and once a product hits my bench it's upgraded

The spurr is different for 2WD models, but yes, putting a bigger pinion on your stampede will give it more speed, but slower acceleration.

About 21 and with the included pinion about 31 . and ofcourse the recommended battery

The 4tec 3.0 isn’t even in the same category as the Infraction. I have more of an issue with tires coming off the rims than tire wear on the 4tec.

While I don’t do speed runs . I absolutely love hooning around , smoking tires drifting the infraction. My Kraton is for the ramps , get both !
10th scale touring cars are a pretty small investment. $250 will get you something wicked. A Redcat Lightning is ~$150.

I think it’s because the tires are ballooning. I know this because two tires are de-beaded from the wheel.
