Bit like all the control computers and visual equipment for Chally, developed by a Brit company, too expensive for the MOD so the yanks bought it and the company , then we bought it off the yanks for three times the original price 😂
So the fastest miltary developed vehicle designed by F1 teams is british, the USA has bought roughly the same number of them, has has France Italy, and Spain. A Tory defence minister used the F1 teams because of design to car times. It is called in the UK the Foxhound, the US calls it the Ocelot.
The Royal Navy ought to look at a dedicated Mine Hunting Sonar Suite Payload Module for the Herne, in order to perhaps equip the future aspiration for new Mine Hunting & Countermeasures Mothership Vessels. Cheers.
America has the ACTUV sub and mine hunter. I supplied them with parts from UK. This is designed for autonomous operation. A big drone. As is the MASTT from msubs.
The real version probably has pumpjet propulsion as that's far quieter and efficient, this looks like a testbed, so it's fairly irrelevant compared to the final product.
I got a suggestion for them.. Instead of having the communication mast look exactly like what it is/does .. Why not make it look similar to a small floating log perhaps? Or a garbage patch... You find them in the ocean don't you?
It's literally a testbed vehicle for autonomous tech, not a military sub going into service, so range is irrelevant. Not sure you've understood what's going on here at all.
Britain is very good at designing stuff, just a shame we don’t buy any of that stuff.
Far too true

BAES was asked to stop pushing this as hard as they were, their costs were too high. Other suppliers were offering similar capability for less cost.
It has a very familiar shape. Perhaps they should call it the Sea Shadow....
Let's go get the Kerch bridge.
That's fantastic news 🎉❤

The UK has an autonomous mine hunter system.
@ Excellent to know this, whilst I feel it would be great to see it integrated with Herne if possible. Anyway Cheers.
Does it have the range to go from Nicaragua to the UK? Asking for a friend.
😂
The return of the X craft
Thank you
Why do the Brits keep telling the world about the projects they are working on?
Jealous?
Desperate to seem relevant.
The actual secret stuff is kept secret. All they've done is show a commercially available hull, not the clever stuff inside.
Stringray had more than one torpedo. 😀
Will it be made in the uk
do we not blur the propellers anymore
No, not when this vehicle is a testbed developed from a commercial platform, pictures of which are already readily available.
Do we not avoid adding unnecessary negatives to questions?

Herne the hunter
Yes it's a classy name for this UAV.
Genius

With nobody inside it, maybe they could put the mast on the front and float tail-down? That might spoil its very shallow applications.
Ukraine, 2:45 _
We’ll take 100 please
Can find a better and cheaper equivalent on Temu. 👍
This is herne, a small autonomous submarine.
But the title clearly says XL submarine!?
This class of unmanned sub is known as an Extra Large Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (XLAUV), hence the XL in the title
Yeah! I've had bigger Subs than that in the bath!!
Obviously a Robin of Sherwood fan 😂😂😂
Kraken Robotics batteries inside?
Who's been watching Thunderbirds? Especially Thunderbird 2.
Why did you call it THAT??
In British folklore, Herne is a ghost-like hunter
Few thousand to seed the European waters....
As the goverment cut back on manpower we need this, none human weapons
Seemed like an anduril submarine, anduril is also doung quite similar thing.
Can Chinese work for BAe Systems?
Depends on the role and security clearance requirements
Portland
Shh! It's a secret.
Starboardland.
@@kennethocongerskin9460 It was for 8 weeks, not anymore- that's why they filmed it and showed it to you. Yes, Portland Dorset.
Cute
How many frogmen fit inside

Title XL Submarine, 1st Words in the Video, Small Submarine! Don't Troll Me! I Will Tell TH-cam Do Not Recommend!
This type of vehicle is known as an Extra Large Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (XLAUV), hence the XL
That's defence companies... Took existing working platform.... 2yrs latter working product + $$$$$
Existing vehicle, new advanced control tech
It has a ridiculously short range which renders it utterly useless in any theatre on the planet.
It's literally a testbed vehicle for autonomous tech, not a military sub going into service, so range is irrelevant. Not sure you've understood what's going on here at all.
5,000km-range is hardly short
Awesome. Next stop Kaliningrad. Why let the Black Sea fleet have all the fun cosplayng submarines. Glug Glug Glug. 😂😂😂

Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 AM August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.
😂😂😂
Skynet the British spy satellite system?
This already looks old fashioned, even the French vessel looks more up to date!
It's a testbed using a commercially available sub hull. The kit inside is the new stuff.
Hehe except for the small detail that the Brits are world leaders in sub tech. They top of the tree.
So at best the Navy will order 3 and cancel every future Frigate 🤦🏻♂️
Now we just need RC Destroyers so we can frighten off the small boats
Can't they make a channel dinghy sinker
You're asking if they can make a sub who's primary role is to drown civilians?
Typical xenophobic bigot.
@@Orbital_Inclination
Why not?
@@awattyou seriously need an answer to that? Targetting civilians is acceptable to you?
