I think it may be important for viewers to know to save their files properly or else if they follow along on excel their information won't save. ALWAYS save the file as Macro-ENABLED which is an *.xlsm file. I lost all my work I going through these the first time.
guess i didn't have the time to say how great you are at tutoring, the lessons are simple to follow and am becoming good...i am building a spread for data analysis used for forex trading.... v.f.l trading too... i know everyone who comes along will definitely give thumbs upppppp........well done...
Dude you're amazing, you know why? You respect the students, these days there are not so many well taught VBA videos and if they are, they are really old, you teach well, edit well and have and incredible personality. New subscriber
I just came across this channel, unlike many others, you are blessed with this great descriptive and simplicity skill. You make complex things simple. That's the real meaning of a "teacher", complex himself but makes complex-simple for others to learn. How I wish I had your personal contact, I could make my projects a great success. God bless!!!
I'm giving this a thumbs up even though you are suggesting that copy and paste coding is not only "OK" it's "A good idea" It's not a good idea. Other than that one major thing, this series is pretty darn good.
Great tuition, step by step, easy to follow explanations. I like the way we're taken straight into the lesson with no sidetracking. See you in video 3 !!
I have pretty much reached the maximum that I can do with formulas and a friend suggested I start learning VB. These were the first videos I found and they are really a wonderful intro. Thank you!
Thank you very much to ''Tiger Spreadsheet Solutions''-as I said before he is absolutely perfect, impeccably flawless and immaculate to the very highest degree! I KNOW every little thing about ''Visual Basic''-I' am now a perfect expert! All these videos are just so absolutely perfect-impeccable/immaculate professionalism, patience, clear and confident presentation!

wow, this is great video because of your teaching techniques. Other videos I've watched I got into 3rd videos and still the guy was talking. You're a great teacher.
Dude... The party don't start til Kyheo walks in ;-) Thanks bro and do check out the other videos, then spread the word if you think they are any good.
Thanks for showing how to do visual basics in excel! I’m already familiar with Visual Basic because I learned it in college but this has helped me learn how to make it more useful!!!
The video was amazing and so easy to follow up. The only problem I had was with copying with ALT key and I made it from the form control directly. Beside this everything was very easy to understand. Thank you!
Mariya - good to hear you were able to master the techniques, including using the Alt key to position objects which is super useful. Do check out the other videos too.
Amazing. The way you are explaining is inspirational. Thank you for the easy way of explaining it. A lot of tutorials even fail to let you know what "Sub" means. Keep up the good work, we are waiting more lessons.
I wish I saw this during my VBA class in college! I am now doing my internship and this is helping me get a recap. Your explanations are easy and simple! Thank you and I've subcribed to your channel :D
Thank sir, its a so useful video for me and others beginner. The video gives me lot for brave and motivation which will be foundation for me...From Bangladesh(Asia)
Very nice videos explained so better than my professors at the university loved how you present information I wished our university profs could learn how to breakdown information for students
Thank you! I just discovered your channel and seen a few videos on VBA, but I'll follow you for a long time, because your explanation is really clear and simple. See you soon!
Great going Sir..!! Pl continue with more advanced concepts citing more such practical examples. That will definitely allow us the privilege of becoming an expert in VBA without attending any classroom training session. Thanks
Hi Cris!Thank you for making all your videos so easy to understand and straight-forward. While I was learning the above tutorial I received an error. ie for the button 'Lower' to be there, I had put in a macro hence it did not take the numeric cell value change. What am I doing wrong here? Thanks in advance!
Hi Roopika - Thanks. It is difficult to tell from your description. Try working through the tutorial again. or send your file to me via the website contact page. Good luck!
Firstly I would like to commend you on a stellar performance with your teachings. I do have a question, and please bear in mind that I am a noob, how do you know what code to use in your Routine. Is this all from experience or is there a guide one needs to study/ Thanx once again Brad
Cheers Brad! And don't worry, we were all noobs once. I find that code makes even experienced practiitioners feel like a noob at least once a day... It comes with experience. I learned first on a Masters course (see My Spreadsheet Story video) which gave me access to a set of resources. I never really referred to the resources, however - trial and error is the best way and all you need to get started is some examples (which you would get from my videos). Having some coding principles in mind is important (but not a 'deal-breaker') - these come through in my videos. But I do not recommend studying a textbook - code should feel like 'play' and the only way to get better at it is to do it. Good luck!
Thanks for sharing . I wonder if I can use Visual Basic in the Developer Tab in MS Word to do the calculation. It is because the calculation in the legacy tools won’t work at all. Appreciate any help.
+Tony Tan Hi Tony - thanks, have you seen the Post-Beginner series, where we apply basic code to speed up an everyday task? th-cam.com/video/Y-8pP_GWnao/w-d-xo.html

Hi Chris, thanks a mil. Just got started at 74, pretty young to start but am enjoying. Got stuck though - I cannot get the Assign Macro to work.At right clk on the button there is no command there. how can I activate that. i have 10 non pro. thanks. wb
Hi Barry - have you clicked 'enable editing'? Try saving the file to your desktop and opening it from there. Great to hear you've got started with coding and good luck with it!
Thankyou for this. How do I adjust the values without going back into vba. For example, I have set the range to increase by 2. If I wanted to increase by 7 in the same cell do I need to create a new code on a new line to set the range to 7??
Hey, great video. I'm having trouble assigning the macro..the list of available macros doesn't show up. All i get is an empty dialogue box. Ref to 4:56 in your video. I'm not getting the higher, lower, say hello options. I'm facing the same issue in the first video you uploaded
Maha - thank you. I sounds like macros are not enabled, or you have saved the file as .xlsx (which can delete the macros). Start again. - Ensure macros are enabled (Google how) - When you save the file, save to .xlsm (macro-enabled workbook) format I hope this helps and good luck! Chris
I am a senior try to teach other seniors on Mandelbrot set. try to show them plotting the set from Excel through VBA. do you have a video about the subject I like your step by step explanation. thanks.
I thought so. I already have my mind pretty much set on the same. It looks great from a design perspective and I've heard a lot of good things about its graphics and performance as well. Since I don't want to move away from Windows this seems like the obvious choice.
hi, I would like to have button to play selected mp3 files in excel sheet. I mean I need to embed mp3 files so when I click on a button, it play the an mp3 without opening a media player software. Sorry that this is not related to the video as I am starting to learn VBA from this clip only. (a new subscriber)
Hi there, yes, that is possible, using a conditional statement. Check out our conditional statements for beginners series here: th-cam.com/video/RrayWNAR7CM/w-d-xo.html
Hi Waheed. You could try 'activecell.value' to use the value in the selected cell. Using the value in the last clicked cell is possible but difficult and not very useful in terms of educational value. Good luck!
Thanks for the great tutorials. Very straight forward and easy to understand. I wonder if you could help me with something. I'm an English teacher and I've created a Concentration game using Powerpoint 2013. I assigned animation and triggers, and got things to work nicely in that two identical matching squares would disappear simultaneously once a match was found. However, the match basically had to be found the second time you clicked on a particular square regardless of whether a match was found or not because the triggers were set this way. But I then realized that it might take someone numerous attempts, not just two, before actually finding a match and that I probably needed the program so code to link or correlate this squares or fields. Is this something I can do with Powerpoint or is Excel the tool to use. Also, how do I actually go about this. I'd appreciate your help. Thank you!
Anton Pavey Hi Anton - Thank you for the comment, and happy to hear that the videos are helping. Animation is not a strong point of Excel, but I am interested to see if we could build the game. Could you send me your PPT file? I will see how well I can replicate it. You can get in touch via the contact page of the website - tigerspreadsheetsolutions.co.uk/contact-us/

Thankyou for this. How do I adjust the values without going back into vba. For example, I have set the range to increase by 2. If I wanted to increase by 7 in the same cell do I need to create a new code on a new line to set the range to 7??
Good question - I think we cover this in future videos. You could use a cell to store a value to control the increment, for example.
