Very judgemental and incorrect. It builds discipline and self control and is an excellent way to cleanse and heal the body.
Raja K it makes your flesh weak thus making you more in tune with your spirit, which is what we are supposed to do goodbye.
Jesus said without fasting and praying, certain demons can't be cast out. Which means fasting and praying makes us have a stronger connection to our power source, Jesus Christ.
True. Also there are certain situations in our lives that will continue to repeat in cycles throughout our lives. And many of those demonic loops cannot be broken till we seek God on it in prayer and fasting. Demonic activity and cycles are broken by fasting.

We must fast. It's in the Bible. The bible didn't say IF you fast it says WHEN you fast, so we MUST fast!
Hi! I meant that it's not a "law." Some people fast as a law because they HAVE to, not because they GET to & they want to honor God. They turn it into a "works" act vs. a "love" act. We fast because we love Jesus, not because of some law.

I understand this . I grew up with out carrying a computer around 24/7 ...( I'm only 47 ) and I put it down alot . It's good too .we weren't meant to be hooked to a computer every waking moment.so if you feel this way definitely do it 🙋

How do u fast from taking pictures of yourself , seeking validation from people instead of God, bragging, lying, arguing , etc, which what most people do on fakebook, etc. how do u fast from sinning . 🤔

I've done it several times.
I also took a break from facebook (my most used social media at the time) for more than two years.
Now when I'm back on Facebook I realised how I didn't miss ANYTHING important at all! 😕 I was like.... this is just fake relationships I'm having 😕
Now I try to only follow social media that is about my spiritual growth, or my photography lessons😊📷🌌🙏

Hey Heather Lindsey! Don't forget we are in deed REQUIRED to fast. Matthew 17:21 declares There are some things (in that case a demonic spirit) we won't be able to get rid of EXCEPT we FAST and pray. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. I'm entering a 21 day fast soon and I know God will do great things!! Pray for me as I pray for you as well!! Thanks for the videos. BeMeBeYouBeWe - Agree wholeheartedly. Fasting is required, it is in the scripture as you've clearly pointed out. The word of the Lord is always true that's why reading the bible for ourselves is so very important.
That scripture doesn’t make it a requirement. It makes it a requirement IF we want to see certain things done in the spiritual world. I’m applying that scripture right now bc baby I wanna SEE these benefits lol mannn. I need freedom from certain things in my life and around me. It’s to build my spiritual muscles. It’s for us, not God! He smiles upon us wanting to delight in Him but it’s no law or requirement. I pray we all grow more aware of who God is and closer to Him and more able to exercise our authority and discipline our flesh.

I fasted from food for a day. I didn't feel close to the Lord, but was under attack for about 2 to 3 days later. So think I'll do it again, as must have done something right.

I am going through things right now and I know I need to fast and pray. So thank you for all the tips. Honestly, I do tell people I’m fasting just so they will literally leave me alone when it comes to food!!! I live in the South - people are always trying to feed you or shove something in your mouth, and it’s actually an insult to say no thank you! But I can either lie - which defeats the whole purpose OR tell them I’m fasting and that’s it. If they start to get nosey or judgmental then it’s on them and it’s time for me to leave. But if I can I will isolate myself to avoid all that! All the while, I know the Lord is at my side, and He truly knows my heart!!
Ugh so timely! I Attempted to go on the Daniel fast and lasted 5 days. I really do feel like I explained myself to too many people
omg i feel the same, I'm currently taking a break from social media (twitter, instagram and snapchat) for this month, and there are times when i do explain myself to people about it, just to sound "spiritual"and to please others when it's supposed to be between yourself and God like Heather said. Yeah, I was having some convictions whilst watching it but it's helped me a lot in so many areas so that i can be more disciplined.
Njeri Mureithi Yes! I only try and explain it to people who believe in Christ because people turn it into something else and think I need their input. I really think that I should do a sun up to sun down fast and really spent time with the Lord. I NEED to!

So I decided a while ago to fast on certain day of the week. On the days I decided to fast, suddenly all thee people at work were trying to feed me. Really good food too. Anyway it was really hard for me to keep up the fast, so I told my office that I will be fasting on certain days. I felt bad for telling them because of that scripture, now I feel even worse after watching this video. Will still continue with the fast, I'm hoping God knows my heart and understands.

Fasting is a little different were I come from. When you hear fasting over here, it means no water, no food starting from morning - evening or to the hour of the day you decide to break the fast.
When its quite serious, it involves you going a day or any desired number of days without ingesting any form of food or liquid plus you segregate yourself entirely (from everyone and everything), spending quality time with God.
Mine too, that's how my mom did it, had adapted it but since moving to Uni in the UK, have become quite lazy, need to go back to my first love and get closer to the LORD..Starting an Esther Fast soon 3 days, no food ,no water, need GOD's intervention on couple of things too, not telling anyone as it's between HIM and i..Blessings to you

In all the verses quoted about fasting, this is the most important one. We can fast for many reasons: To grow spiritually, for setback, limitation in progress, hatred, lack, mediocrity, lust, confusion, poverty, rejection, disobedience, envy, fornication, masturbation, any immorality, etc ...

I know people who dry fast no water no nothing 3-7days.I see no point in a juice fast.I prefer to go all in.After 5 days you not even hungry anymore.The longer you go the easier it is.Keep your fast between you an The most high.Feed the hungry while you fast.Give away clothes or coats as well.When you fast your Smell is heighten an your hearing for the voice of the most high ..id love to see your recipes.How can i find your recipes Heather..Thank you

The idea of fasting popped up in my head a few days ago. I did some thinking and researching and ended up half heartedly saying, "God if you really want me to do this and this is a direct idea from you, send me a sign" and forgot about it. At church the next morning, the entire sermon was about fasting (My mind was rather blown). I took that as a rather large hint!

Alexis Daniel I had to do that about 5 years ago with a guy I was dating since high school for 2.5 years. I was also encouraged after reading her blog back then and it gave me confidence. It was the scariest thing I could ever do because he was my world and I thought I would marry him. God was telling me to let it go, and His word confirmed it. Pray, ask God for timing and help, wisdom, grace, compassion, and steadfastness. Good grace!!
