I think what happened here is very common. After I lost my husband in a sudden death, I could not stay in that house we shared. Every room I went into had a memory that brought pain. I sold it and moved myself and the kids out of the area. However, thinking back now, I wish I had stuck it out before selling. Now I would cherish those memories as I walked from room to room. My advice is, don't make any huge changes in the first year. Our minds aren't thinking clearly. I believe it's shock. Once that shock wears off and the good memories start to surface, it would be comforting to have those memories in a place where they were created. I tried once to make an offer on the home, but the family who own it now are happy there and making their own memories within its walls.

This was nice to come across and read. I experienced a similar situation, but I had no way to move out, and I'm still here! The way you choose to remember people definitely makes a difference, and I truly loved this person, so all that I experienced after was alright... but now I hope to find a way to move out and on with my life, for I think that if one doesn't, then the good memories stand a chance of becoming otherwise. Thank you! ♡

He was my one and only. Everyone grieves differently. I completely understand that. For me, our home is my sanctuary. I have stayed in our house. I feel comforted by the memories and I still feel his presence. I want to stay here until the day I die.

I've spoken to the son of the owner and he enjoyed my video and said he liked that I was respectful. A gun was actually stolen from this property before we even got there. Trespass isn't illegal in the UK and there was no damage, no break in and nothing taken therefore no laws were broken. ✌

Interesting that the outside of the house had years’ worth of overgrowth and decay but inside the house there was truly little dust/cobwebs on the furniture, which leads me to think someone came in periodically to run a cleaning rag across the good furniture - for whatever reason. And that on her passing, the man who loved her and shared a lifetime with her, closed the doors on it all in memory of what they built together. If only each of us could be loved like that what a different world we might have. Thank you Mark, for all you do. You exhibit great respect and bring us insight into an all but forgotten world. Adam! It does look like Boris lol, that cracked me up. That beautiful garden window…the view back in the day when the garden was mowed etc must have really been so lovely to look out over the property. The views from each window is absolutely stunning.

Big bear is made by Merrythought and would of been dressed as a policeman or guardsman when new . They still make bears but sadly not the big one .

If those are Steiff bears they are probably worth a lot & could be why they had identification price guides there. The tall one especially could be worth several thousand if a Steiff even over $10k US depending on age and other markings or tags.

For decades house owners left the deeds for the house in a safe in their solicitors office. You can easily check on the land registry who owns a property if you have the full address.

This is got to be the saddest story, and a feeling of complete lost for words. I know what this gentleman felt after losing his wife.
Here he is the big Bear in her life, the lover, hunter, supplier of everything she needed to make his wife happy, and this strong Bear couldn't protect her from the physical disabilities of aging and life. My condolences to you sir, and the family. You sir, did all you could, and did an awesome job, but sometimes, all you can do is continue Loving, Supporting and give all the Comfort she needs.
