    Really really appreciate this video man! I’m a longtime ITG stamina player and my girlfriend has been in the market for a 4 panel pad. Since she’s not as serious and not trying to drop 1400 on an arcade pad I genuinely had no idea where to look for something affordable these days so this really helps! I’ll def show her tonight😊

      Glad to help! It's a really really good pad (helped me get my first quad ever) I highly recommend checking out the LTEK! As someone who has played DDR for over 20+ years it feels awesome having something like this at home :)

    Great review of the LTEK! I've had one for 4 years now and I'm very happy with it. I think this is a great look for those considering to buy one. I feel like for the money, it's hard to beat. :)

      Honestly one of the greatest purchases I've ever made 🥹 really happy with the gameplay and weight loss 😁

    I used to have the old version of Ltek for 2 and half years. It pretty much feel awkward compare to the arcade pad, but it actually really decent for home workout or practice DDR/ITG. Now I have an actual metal pad, but never regret that getting Ltek back then ! My pad used to play up to 18s on ddr and 14s( not with those bracketing chart) on ITG!

      Surprised to see the LTEK is capable of 18's! that's great news considering I don't think id ever be able to play 17's lmao

    Biggest benefits are affordability, size, and availability. I was able to buy one local and build a bar for around $400. I enjoyed it as a (somewhat) newer player playing 9-10s. I never modified it and I only stopped using it when I found a SMX stage.

    • @DietDietRevolution

      Definitely! I don't know if I will ever need to mod it but I definitely want to at least build a bar for it. I would LOVE an arcade pad tho so maybe one day this TH-cam channel will make some money and I'll be able to do that :)

    Awsome video! Great pad for just getting into it. Just as good as the colbalt flux pads.

    • @DietDietRevolution

      I never had a colbolt flux pad but I've always heard great things about them so if these are up to that level then these are gonna be good for a very long time

      @@DietDietRevolution Yes. thats what i was told and i had both the colbalt and the l tek and their booth good in quality. I think you can make a colbalt flux bad. atleast the parts.

    • @DietDietRevolution

      @@JBLINK7 gotcha! my only gripe for the LTEK is not really being able to feel where I am on the pad but besides that its been really freaking awesome

    • @JBLINK7

      @@DietDietRevolution yea that was my issue. So i bought somwhat thin foam from the craft store and i raised the 5 panels just alittle to feel whats the arrows and whats not. I felt a difference but then again i played with no shoes at home. Could always try that! Or find brackets that could mimic the feel. My Columbia step pad has no brackets. Its bracket less but the arrows are made similar the the arcade panels so im sure i could add them. Ik what you mean though.

    • @DietDietRevolution

      @@JBLINK7 someone in my discord server actually 3d printed brackets and applied them to their LTEK and looked like it actually makes a bit of a difference... trying to convince my cousin to make me 8 of them which is the amount I need for my LTEK hopefully he'll dust off his 3d printer because if that helps even 5% I think its worth it aha

  • @Rurike
    @Rurike 2

    I like just got my Ltek so nice to hear its got good longevity. I actually started my ddr journey basically on this pad so i had the opposite exoerience of learning to be a bit more heavy footed if i go to a real machine (though i think im big enough its not like a huge difference) i also never though how those corners might be used to keep track of your position

    • @DietDietRevolution

      ha that’s really funny to hear! while i’m being light on my feet on the ltek you’re relearning to press the arcade buttons harder 😂
      The corner brackets actually help me a lot which is crazy because they probably weren’t intended for that purpose but they really helped me not look at the screen. Few times playing on my LTEK i would look down to see my foot positioning to “cheat hands” or as people call it today “bracketing” because honestly when it comes to doing that technique i really have to look down VS the arcade where i know exactly where my foot is

  • @geist2820

    Ltek sensitivity will depend on your play style, if it is already more conservative and you are used to playing on the very inside, as in hitting the very edges of the panels, you will notice that the pad isn't as sensitive because of how it is designed. I can see you play more traditionally or with a wider technique, so you are always hitting more toward the center of the panels which of course are more sensitive than the most inside edges of the panels, and would explain why you don't experience the same sensitivity issues other players with tighter forms do.
    If you train to go up in foot speed your form naturally changes to compensate and your movements will become more minimalistic, so it's only natural that if you never push yourself beyond a certain speed and stay at speeds you can comfortably play using your current form that you would not notice any sensitivity issues.

    • @DietDietRevolution

      I've never been able to do difficult high BPM stuff even in my prime, definitely something I want to work on but my main priority is weight loss for now so once I get to my goal weight I plan on training to beat at least Fascination Maxx ESP or some ITG 12's.
      Will make a follow up video in the future about sensitivity to see how I feel about it at higher levels of gameplay/speed

    • @kevonn5622

      I agree with this. I play DDR 17-18s and L-Tek is unusable out of the box for the inside form required, especially up arrow. Penny mod is required. Even for players that have wider form, they will never learn more efficient form so long as L-Tek limits them imo.

    The printer cable is a USB-B type...I still have tons of these from using lots of printers/scanners for work and designs.//

      It's one of the few cables that I DO NOT have laying around the house (I even have a ton of micro USB cables 😂)

    • @rickr530

      @@DietDietRevolution They're easy to get, and trust me the B is much more robust than all the smaller cables that came after it. It's not a bug, it's a feature that he chose this cable for the L-Tek.

      @@DietDietRevolution If you want to get into soldiering to convert it to USB C, its just 4 pins. If not, USB type B cables are pretty inexpensive. I see them used in the music industry as well as printers so you could get some good lengths and good quality. **Also!! They are probably the sturdiest of the USB 2.0 Era, probably why they choose it.

    I used an L-TEK for 3 years and it's honestly the best pad you can get at its price point. Arcade pads or SMX pads are better, but L-TEKs are a lot easier to get, since they're pretty much always in-stock on the website. I played up to DDR 18s on it with no issues. It's fantastic. With a simple penny mod, it has great sensitivity, and I actually love that it doesn't have triangle brackets.

    • @DietDietRevolution

      I would LOVE an arcade pad or SMX pad just because of how sturdy they would be and of course having a arcade style bar would work WONDERS for me
      Hopefully one day I'll be able to afford one 😋

  • @thesmilingvagrants

    For some reason I can't find any home pads that have the arrows not level with the center panel. As you mentioned, on the arcade pad the arrows are down a few millimeters from the center panel which allows you to feel with your feet. The home pads are always level with the center panel which is less preferred for me.

    • @DietDietRevolution

      I've seen people place pieces of cardboard under the center panel (I guess the same could also be done for the others as well)
      Supposedly that helps a bit, someone in my discord server actually made 3D printed triangle brackets so I'm guessing if those work and I raise the center panel it would feel a bit more like an arcade pad

  • @mgproductions2007

    The printer cable will definitely also break if you bend/damage it, I've seen it happen.
    LTEK lacks sensitivity or accuracy of real arcade pads, it also feels really hard in comparison.
    It's a solid entry level option that's fine for most players looking to get back into the game.
    Worth looking into : Rhythm Horizon, Yuancon, Born to Lead, RE:Flex

    • @DietDietRevolution

      I'm gonna have to disagree with you on Accuracy... I've been playing DDR and ITG for 20+ years and have never came anywhere near a 100% score up until I got my LTEK. I have so far gotten 2 Quads and really close to getting my 3rd (a few songs getting 3 excellents or less)
      You might be right about sensitivity at higher levels of play, but up to DDR Scale 16 I see no problems at all. I'm not sure about how much % of the DDR Community can clear 17's, 18's and 19's but for those who can't I really couldn't recommend the LTEK enough to them.

  • @TonyTheTGR

    The Printer/USB cable is pretty easy/inexpensive to replace at something like an Office Depot or Staples or online. They're usually available in 25 ft lengths too, which is a lot more friendly distance considering the controller sets on the floor. It's not the con you think it is.

    • @DietDietRevolution

      definitely understand where you're coming from, I could of course even order them on Amazon for relatively cheap and not even have to go to a store. But I my opinion it's just such an odd peripheral that has faded away like the iPhone lightening cable. If it wasn't for my 10 year old mic I would not have another cable in my home which of course like you said be fixed by buying some extras at a very cheap cost but to me it's just the fact that it's such an odd cable (which is why I said in the video this might not even be a con to people watching)

    I still needed to copper tape mod mine to make it more sensitive to do modern tech, but that's the play style I decided to adapt to. It's very versatile, but it's entirely up to how you want to play it which is nice.

      I've talked with a few people in my discord server and plan on doing a test where I play with the new style everyone uses that requires modding I want to see how sensitive (or insensitive) my LTEK is.
