    I have 4 children and they have all roasted me as such. The two best were from my oldest son and my oldest daughter. My son was about 8 when someone at the store asked how old I was and before I could answer he said that dirt was still bolders when I was born...... I KNOW he was holding on to that one for a while.... just waiting for the opportunity to use it. My daughter, however, ever the history buff, was giving a report on our family history and what made each person special... As I sat among the other parents and listened to all the " My mom is a Dr." and "My Dad is a fireman" boasts, I thought my beautiful daughter would say something along the lines of, "My mom owns her own business". Nope..... She said, " My Mom was born 1 year after the last slave died" Ugg. I feel your pain Brandon.

    that snack time anecdote was so spot on.
    as kids, my sister and i would have snack time right before bed every night, so we wouldnt complain in the middle of the night.
    one night, we were being bad. so, instead of a fruit cup or sweet crackers, my ma gave us a slice of bread and a cup of water each. we looked at each other like- what????
    it backfired though... we ended up loving that snack and would ball up slices of bread and just eat them all the time lol.

    This has affected me. An 8 year old bringing to light the fact that I was born in the 1900s. Technically the 1900s is just 1900-1909 but sometimes given context its 1900-1999

    I think the most important parenting advice that I could give to anyone would be, be consistent with your punishments, if you punish them they stay punished (grounded) don't get soft hearted and say all right whatever you know, you've got to stay strong with that I speak from experience of watching my daughter raise my grandson!

    • @mom23js
      @mom23js 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      What you described is classic uno reverse of child psychology. The parent has the power, and once you give in to the person without power, you in turn give THEM the power. So if kiddo knows you're going to cave with the punishment.. nothing they do will have any severity merit and all bad acts will be the same level of bad in their brain because " parent isn't gunna punish me for long anyway".. and this is why today's youth walks all over their parents and act like fools.
      But also a side note: funny how when teachers weren't allowed to spank kids, good behavior went down. When CPS gave specific rules for punishment.. kids and adults started using them as a weapon rather than having them actually be saviors for truly abused kids and not just ones who got spanked for throwing a tantrum in the store.
      This is the world we live in now. Children call the shots and CPS is a weapon..

    Advice? Nope . Warning, though? Yup... it only gets more interesting from here lol My kids are 27 and 23 now and the sarcasm has not stopped lol When my oldest was 5, we were standing in a grocery store line up. There was a gentleman in front of us who must have been about 80. I pointed to an old style radio on a magazine and said "Pa (my dad) had that was I was a kid. He repaired it and got it working again." Without missing a heartbeat, my sarcastic 5 year old says " They had radio when you were a kid?!" The older man in front of us started laughing pretty hard, which she loved. I was 29 at the time. The only difference between then and now is that the sarcasm and roasting of mom is better thought out!

One day I was not very happy that I had to go into work that day and my 5 year old at that time look straight at me and said 'Momma stop bitching and go to work' of course I was late that day because it took me 30 minutes to get off the floor because I was laughing so hard. Example, he's only known TVs to be flat and hanging on walls since he was born. So when he saw an on TV of mine from the 1900s he asked what it was. I told him an old TV then he asked was the big box looking thing behind it was for. 😐😐😐....that's part of the TV son.

    I find so much joy in your videos, you're just so fun and I binge your channel quite a bit. I found it hilarious when we both made the same sound after you said "wow" 😂
