Better Call Paul helps Ross the One-Legged Miner tow a 15-ton compressor through the desert, and lets me ride on it. Then I visit the Bagdad Cafe to check out the new roof we helped them raise money for. I also show off my new minisplit, and finally...I get the harebrained idea to dress up like Marilyn Monroe and pose for a photo with the 14 puppies at Villa Anita...and it doesn't go so well!

I have watched all of the Bagdad Cafe videos and fell in love with that sweet old lady (like everyone else did). What amazed me, was not the fact that all of you kindhearted viewers out there donated enough money to that lady to replace her roof and get the Bagdad Cafe up and running again. No, what REALLY blew me away was when Sarah Jane gave all of the credit to the viewers and not one mention of anything that had to do with herself!
Sarah, you have a heart of pure gold. You just changed that sweet old lady’s life!!! I defy anyone here to watch that old Bagdad Cafe video and then watch this video and tell me you can’t see how much better that sweet old woman looked!
Yes Sarah, your viewers did indeed help that poor woman get back on her feet again. But it was YOU Sarah, who brought it to everyone’s attention in the first place. And now here you are acting like you had nothing to do with it.

Having that mini split is worth every penny.
Many years ago, when I was young, my grandfather was an executive with Gardner-Denver Co in Quincy, IL. It was so good to see an old air-compressor that they built for the mining industry. Now that I'm 80, memories of the past are more important than ever.

Get that mama dog fixed. There are hundreds of dumped dogs just here in the desert. I recently helped two female dogs. One of them had two puppies-out in the desert. Dumped out behind the old Barstow Outlet Mall on the edge of the desert.
They were trapped and are at a rescue in Las Vegas. It's called the Animal Network.
Please fix your dogs and cats so they can't reproduce. Consider adopting a dog or cat. They are so cute and lovable but are a commitment for many years.

I'm certain these folks have gotten mama dog spayed, they spoke of it in the original video. But, it's always good to remind folks how important it is.
Many times people get a dog abd don't realize how much it costs to stay and neuter. Has my puppy spayed last year for $300. Some vets wanted $600 to $800. I know there's a low cost spay and neuter place in Las Vegas, but there was a 6 month waiting list. Since I got my puppy a 11 months old I didn't want her to go into heat, so we paid the extra cost.

@@victoriabaker4400 usually you have to wait until the puppies are weaned and she is not producing milk, otherwise it could get complicated.

Great news on the Bagdad Cafe and prayers all 14 pups and the Mom find great forever homes, get Mom spayed and when the pups are old enough at 4 months the adopters agree to get them fixed.

I've been in touch with Jack and have two that I'm keeping an eye on ..I think he calls them bear after my dog that recently passed away and doing my best to find good homes for the other's up here in Lake Tahoe ..I have lots of friends who are retired and have large properties ..like me they are dog lovers.. I will stop by on June 9th on my way to San Diego and then a week later on my return will take my favorites to their forever home .. they will be my camping and backpacking buddies as well as my companions.. keep up the great work if it wasn't for your videos I never would have known about these wonderful puppies God bless Jack and his family for taking such good care of them and bringing them in

Good luck with the museum and the puppies and the mine! Our Fujitsu mini-splits are going on 12 years old now and we have been very happy with them; very economic cooling and heat.
In the immortal words of Huel Houser "Its Amazing " what the community can do Helping " the Bagdad Cafe" get a new Roof Hopefully they can do many more projects and upgrades maybe adding Airbnb accommodations( using the vintage airstreams) and faithful recreation of the buildings and set pieces used in the movie how awesome would that be to have a water tower, little motel rooms etc
