    i think what he said really needs to hit the owners of real racing teams right where it hurts:
    "some of the racers on there are better than racers in real life, they just haven't had the opportunity to show that"
    being on iRacing and seeing the competition in there and even looking at how some of the drivers run in comparison to real life drivers is insane. if only teams irl would give some of these sim racers a chance, i feel like the racing world would instantly become more popular and successful due to more entertaining racing, and much better racing.

    • @4theloveofDub
      @4theloveofDub 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree 100%, I also think both iRacing and real racing would grow in popularity because it would be more attainable. I feel a lot of racing is losing popularity because it is growing out of its grass roots feel. People don't feel connected to the drivers. They feel even if they tried their hardest, if their name isn't Waltrip, Elliot, Andretti, or Earnhardt they wont ever get their shot. But if racing, of all forms, look for drivers in iRacing then the average person has a shot at making it if they put in the time and effort to get good on the sim.

      Yeah on the road side we have a real Le Mans winner in Nicki Thiim, who was racing the Mazdas on iRacing the week before he raced in this year's real Le Mans with Aston Martin. Awesome stuff to be racing with guys like that.

      Difference being that on iRacing you have next to nothing to lose, on the Superspeedway you can lose millions, or your life. When you have a REAL car running inches from your door and 190 mph not many can handle that kind of pressure.

    • @blakeandrews9496

      4theloveofDub i think that's a really good point... i mean you always hear NASCAR drivers talking about how they started racing when they were like 6, i think that puts off allot of people even like me who are around 16 and while having a passion for racing, when you hear guys like Dale Jr. talk about how he's been racing since he was 5 or 6, it makes you feel like its way too late and you'll have no chance so there's not really a reason to try. but if real teams were to start looking at guys online i think that would definitely not only help the sport grow with more and better drivers but would also help the popularity of the sport because people would realize they could have an actual shot.

      and yet it still has flaws. penalty system is a joke, bad drivers rarely get suspended/banned and are mostly protected, tire models are a joke.
      yes iti s the best sim im not denying that, but its not flawless at all, and for the price that is is it should be. tracks are overpriced, same for cars.

    It's just a matter of numbers. There are many more people racing in a virtual environment than in real life. So on average even if the level of quality is greater in real life, the raw number of above - average quality divers its going to be vastly superior amongst the virtual racers.
    In real life the the top drivers have had to go through the filter of MONEY, which is more important than quality, while in sim racing the most important filter is QUALITY if you want to get to the top of the rankings.

      Terry Roberson a decent computer for atleast $500 and up. A wheel and pedals will run atleast $100 and a membership on iracing. I’d say to get start will cost $600 or $700
