I have this deck and I have to say that from a construction and materials standpoint, as well as for overall aesthetics, its one of my favorites. I have a lot of decks with beautiful art but poor cardstock, or unfortunate and/or distracting borders, or a weird size, or ugly backs, or whatever, and this just completely comes together from that perspective. The cardstock is excellent, the linen finish feels so good, the colors are vibrant, the whites are really white and not dingy, the borders are lovely and dont detract (and actually make me like the white card edges; I have absolutely no urge to edge this deck). Add on the absolutely fabulous box and the full-color booklet and it's just *chefs kiss*.
I like the imagery as well (I absolutely love this art style; I had storybooks in a similar style as a kid and they always felt so magical), but honestly I just wish that publishers would take notes on decks like this because it's just so well-put-together.
I want to add that the art here is very old-Disney-storyboard-art style, which I adore, as opposed to their finished-movie-style. Both have similar elements that are recognizable when you look at them together, but this is kind of the art-behind-the-art.
I'm in LOVE with this Tarot Deck. I've used it a handful of times now, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the messages and how they come through the images created. If anyone is considering getting it, I definitely recommend you buy it.
I'm very late to this party but just bought this deck, and it's beauty makes the typos forgivable. This is my most stunning deck.

There were in the first edition they have been fixed.
There is more truth of history in the myths that are orally told through the generations. This deck is a modern update to the images. Learning is the best way to grow spiritually. Thanks for the review.

I recently got this deck and my experience so far is that it tends to kind of bite my head off. I mean it is not at all gentle, not a lot of grey area. The art may be disneyfied but not the meanings. I think I am going to like this deck but I won't use it unless I'm prepared to get a possible smack upside the head. It is the first deck I've used that has such strong opinions, so I'm going to need to learn to consider what it is telling me without letting it discourage me. Maybe that will change but so far that is my impression.
I agree the art is very Disneyfied, and I'm on the fence about whether I really like that or not. I'll probably study up on some of the myths and see if that makes the deck feel more substantial to me. Thanks for your perspective!
The diversity of the myths and legends in the deck really sold it for me. I learned a lot more about Middle Easter, Eastern, and African mythology via this deck.
The artist actually worked for Disney!!
Wanted this to be my first tarot deck so bad! This was at my local marshalls and someone took the cards and book out the box. I had already fallen in love at first sight of the box only to find it empty. I was so disappointed! Got the cosmos tarot instead. I’ve heard seasoned intuitives hate it, but it’s what I could find on the ground. Now sad I know I’m gonna spend double to track this one down for purchase. I literally need no more things to binge buy🤦🏾♀️

Did you mean complaining? I've not seen many complaints about the card stock, its very nice in my opinion. I enjoy it. This deck is fantastic I agree!
Modern Metaphysicae yes sorry. It’s been a day. I need my bed. I think on the Hermits cave or for love of cards.. they said it had “quality issues”.. I couldn’t believe it.
@@justinmichaeltarot No worries! Ya, I have no issues with the card stock, its like a nicer version of the Game of Thrones tarot before they moved away from the linen finish.
It was on for Love of Cards.. you can just search “tarot of the divine, production quality” it will come right up. I was surprised. The deck wasn’t pricey either
Very late comment here but I'm baffled by complaints about the cardstock. Most of my decks are much thinner and less substantial than this deck and don't feel nearly as nice. Either they're buying decks in a completely different universe of quality or they have a very strange notion of what cheap feels like, or they purchased a different printing.
I do get just not being into the linen texture, but I really don't get thinking it's poor quality.

Do you find that the stories in book help to give insight into why each story has been assigned to that particular card? Regardless that they are condensed. Because there are definitely some myths and legends that I’m not familiar with.
I knew most of the stories and I think the creators did an excellent job of picking mythos that match the traditional meaning of the cards - it certainly gives new perspectives if you are unfamiliar.
Very after the fact comment, and slightly tangential to the video, but I have to ask: what deck is that Page of Cups from that you pulled out as a size guide? I’m not familiar with an RWS that looks like that, but I’m so digging the colors!

I was so disappointed in this mass market edition of Yoshitani’s art.
The cards have a plasticky feel and the reproduction is so poor you can see the digital dot matrix like bumps on the images.
OI feel very sorry that the artist did not find a better publisher or put out a high quality indie version of the deck.
I like the images and they are well reproduced in the book, which is interesting.
But the deck itself looks very cheap and is unappealing.
The white borders also detract.
You do realize the artist approved all of this and posted about it on their Instagram? The linen card stock is nice and durable. And I felt the boarders elegant. I would have liked it larger.
Well...I guess someone has to be the dissenter. I have a fairly large collection but don't own any decks that are fairy tale or fairy anything. I don't have any decks that someone would call "child-like" or "inner child"....no unicorns or kitties for me. But I thought because this deck is based on real tales and myths it would be educational as well as enjoyable. Well....my first impression was just "meh". So far it's a regret purchase for me. The art is gorgeous, but I just don't seem to be connecting to it and I really hate the plastic feeling card stock. I haven't been compelled to use it. I'm hoping that one day it will call my name and we can be friends. Sure it may be a "shadow" deck for me....if I can ever get interested to use it. We'll see. Thanks for the walk through.

@@ModernMetaphysicae I'm always sad when I don't connect with a deck. There was some self-delusion involved...I read everyday with Crowley's Thoth and I thought a deck with Disney like princesses would speak to me....geez, what was I thinking?! lol
Lol nothing wrong with that! I too am a huge fan of the Crowley and Harris’ deck, this for me was more about an exploration of myth that I just ended up enjoying. It certainly is on the outskirts of art that I find appealing. I think if there was no myth involved I probably would have passed.
@@ModernMetaphysicae Well, last night I said to myself "this is silly. Why don't I just ask the deck?" So I asked "How can we be friends?" I pulled 6 of cups, 3 of pentacles and 4 of cups. Well ok then! You want to be friends? Then stop ignoring my outstretched hand and work with me!!! Enuf said...lol!
Stray Cat I use the Thoth deck and love the surreal and esoteric art. But I also love this deck with its clean lines and mythological subtext! I may even use this as my main deck and use the Thoth deck for shadow work
