    I really can't thank you enough for this video - Not just a flip-thru, not just a review, but an essential lesson in the additional symbolism (which it's SHAMEFUL was not explained in the book.)
    For many (many many) years I've been buying tarots and never found a single one that I felt totally in harmony with, because (in terms of artwork) there were always a few cards that I thought were badly done and were hard to live with. This is the first one where I've loved EVERY FRICKIN' card. I've bought a couple of copies of this now, and continue to love it. Thanks again for all the work you put into this video.

      The symbolism IS explained in the description of each card. They are Hebrew letters and zodiac symbols.
      In all my readings of reviews of this deck, I have yet to see anyone who has actually connected the dots. 😮

    Thank you so much for this in depth Review. I was thinking to buy this Deck, then not to buy ...but now I ordered it. With the 2 of Swords : Moon and Uranus, well for me the moon stands for emotions/ water and Uranus / Air / Thoughts ...the 2 of Swords has a correspondence to them. Heart/Head. ... Emotions/ Thoughts ...to Balance it.( Just my understanding) so it makes sense for me. The 9 of Wands : Moon/moon/ Sagittarius.... emotions/Emotions / Fire / with all my Heart fighting for a Higher purpose ...yes, I can understand this ...thank you 🙏...and my thoughts about the Magician : Merkur / Virgo...Communication/ Earth/manage your resources wisely / be precise and Look at your health...Matches my understanding of the Magician to use your skills/ Talents wisely 🙂 Greetings from Germany 🍀✨

    I absolutely love this deck. I’ve had the same thought as you, asking why it couldn’t be better explained in the book. But now I wish more than ever that this deck could be done in a pocket version (I have trouble shuffling the bigger decks so it feels really shuffled) 😂

      There are resources to find this information out, like this video. It was something that should have been included in the guidebook, in my opinion, though. The art is gorgeous, and if you are drawn to it get it! Perhaps it is a deck that will challenge you and help you to grow into the next step of your Tarot journey!

  • @Bbslue7
    @Bbslue7 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Although the lack of explanation on the symbolic representation in the guidebook to this deck made me frustrated for over 6 months, (since acquiring them) this is what inspired me to research and learn in depth the correspondences (that most decks I’ve come across don’t even scratch the surface on) regarding astrology, the Hebrew letters, the tree of life, Thoth, (and everything else Inclusive on the Heaven and Earth Tarot.) THANK YOU SO MUCH for explaining the last symbols and what they are. (I thought perhaps the arrows were a hint to a hidden image in the cards, although I could not find anything, lol!)
    This is going to kick my ability to intuitively read the cards into super nova. Had the guidebook provided these answers, I would have been highly overwhelmed which would have yet again blocked my desire to learn and understand Tarot slowing my progress. With the combination of my love of the artwork of this particular deck, the fact that all the answers I’ve been searching for from one deck to another are all on this deck(yet without explanation) mixed with the researching that I’ve done online, I am now completely confident and extremely excited to see my progress to become the Tarot reader that I have struggled to envision becoming. (Researching and finding the answers oneself really helps in understanding and learning better).
    I guess that Jack Sephiroth and Jaymi Elford could have put a disclaimer that this deck is for professional Tarot readers only, but then I would not have purchased them, and had this breakthrough if they had. (Makes me wonder if it’s just me? Or was this their intention all along?🤔)
    I’d place my bets on the latter, they both are to intelligent, advanced, and know what they are doing, to think otherwise. (In my experience, most Tarot deck creators are guided by the very spirit, angel, entity, guide, being, (whomever or whatever one calls them, as well as whomever or whatever they are as long as they are of the white light and love of our creator!) I guess we may never know…….. 💁🏼‍♀️ lol!
    Thanks again!
    Namaste 🙏🏼💙🤟🏼

    I REALLY appreciate this dive into how to read the symbols and for decoding the underlying structures. Always a gorgeous video.
    While I don’t use the esoteric layers in readings, I have wanted a deck that incorporates them in an unobtrusive manner, because I do use tarot for magic, and have wanted to dive deeper into that. Most decks that do that, however, prioritize symbol over aesthetic, and they just fall flat for me. This deck checks all the right boxes for me.

    • @ModernMetaphysicae
      @ModernMetaphysicae  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It really is great! I just wish the book had more substance, and a description of why they decided to incorporate modern and traditional systems. I also wish there was more consistency on the placement of the esoteric symbols across the deck as a whole, I think it would have made it more approachable to those who want to start diving into the esoteric side of Tarot. Thanks for watching and commenting as always sir!

      @@ModernMetaphysicae you always make the esoteric stuff so palatable. Ever thought of doing a Podcast? Lol.
      The artist has a rune project in the works. I can’t remember if it’s a rune deck, Norse tarot, or an oracle. The images I saw were every bit as gorgeous as these. I remember that the rune references I saw made sense, too. It looks like it’s going to be printed independently, too. I couldn’t find a lot of info when I went looking several weeks ago. Keeping my eye out, though.

    I think you can associate Neptune with all of the Aces because of the Picean, liminality of them. The aces all have a very Alpha and Omega, full spectrum, beginning and end potentiality of the suit. Like the sea.

    DUSTIN Thank you for another Amazing Review. I bought 2 copies of this deck, I just know it's going to be a go to deck I'm going to be using constantly, so I wanted a backup. It has a vibe like The Darkness of Light Tarot another one of my Favorites. You are so right when explaining your feelings and frustrations with the book. For lack of describing the symbolic references on the cards. Seems like a disconnect between the artist and the person in charge who wrote the guide book, dont know but what a missed opportunity for such a Beautiful Deck of Cards. I have Understanding in Astrology for over 30 years, and some Kabbalah , this deck is very exciting because it adds many layers onto my reading. Plus I never order matching bags ,but I knew I didn't want to keep this the box and would be using it all the time, so I ordered the Bag too. Hugs Caroline 😘❤

    Wow this just blows my mind Dustin! I have to say I always watch your vids but I often miss the lives so I don't comment often when I watch the replays. I found your channel a year and a bit ago from Lisa's channel. When I have commented it's been from my first account - this one is from my second YT channel which is all about Tarot and magick - the other channel was the first and is about lifestyle, parenting, home etc but when I started on YT I discovered this whole tarot community and I really wanted a place I could respond to VRs and be more part of the community, freely. This deck was on my wishlist and whilst I wanted to pick it up it wasn't ever like 'woah I need it now', you know? but I am so grateful I watched this whole video because the amount of questions you answered that I would have been completely clueless about had I not watched this prior to picking the deck up is incredible. You are such an incredible wealth of knowledge Dustin, and your intuitive insights are also always so profound. I just wanted to say thank you so much for everything you offer to the community. This was like a lesson in itself. I first learnt the RWS tarot meanings when I was 17 but I never learnt the esoteric background until now - I'm in my 30s. I had a big gap of not reading or studying between then and a few years ago since my little ones were born and I am so grateful for this community and to be able to watch and learn more and about what resources to read more from and then learn more, it's just amazing. The 11 year old witch in me is so happy to have found her way here. So so grateful for your videos Dustin and for your channel. I wanted to say how much I value the work you do here and to say thank you - long comment I know - sorry LOL 😂 so many blessings 🙏 😊 Xxx

    • @ModernMetaphysicae
      @ModernMetaphysicae  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I strongly disagree. The boxes are not practical for long term storage or day to day transportation and the books generally are light washed and not really anything new. If I’m buying a book set I want a book with substance not a glorified pamphlet or little white book on the basics of reading the tarot with one or two extra things thrown in for fun.

I love this deck but I just don't understand why the court cards astrological symbols are Thoth based yet the court cards are named for the rws, it's just so confusing 😫 I either have to ignore the astrology to read as a rws, or switch my knights and kings to make it for the thoth

    Glad I watched your review. The artwork is--truly--stunning, probably my absolutely favorite RWS clone deck. But they completely botched the court cards and big misses on the kabbalistic and esoteric connections, which is a MUST for me. Honestly, best tarot deck ever produced is M. M. Meleen's Tabula Mundi. THE. BEST.

    • @ModernMetaphysicae
      @ModernMetaphysicae  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I wouldn’t say the “botched” the courts. I think they were just trying to make it so it could be read in either Thoth or Rider styles. The esoteric things are all there they again just tried to use all the systems and weren’t clear about it. Tabula Mundi is wonderful but completely unapproachable for beginners interested in esoteric tarot and I was hoping that this would fill that void. It’s close but doesn’t cross the finish line sadly! Thanks for watching and commenting!!

      The correspondences are correct in both ways, if you look at it as a deck that combines systems, which this does - its a mix of Toth, Golden Dawn, and RWS. I think they did it that way intentionally so it could be read in either hierarchy. :) Thank you for watching and commenting Martian!

    lol...I was totally not into it, UNTIL you got to the courts. I learned with Thoth. So I really like it when we get some love in the Mass Market. I have four words for you: Tarot of the Sephiroth. I know it's hard to find, but you need a copy, and the book is essential. Why don't we have a tarot library?...ggrrrrrr.

    Hi Dustin! I really loved your walk through on this as I am not familiar w/the symbology on the cards. I love the imagery of this deck, beaUtiful! I agree that the book really fell short by not explaining how/why the symbology was selected. I am confused with the correspondences for the Knights and Kings in general. Sometimes the Knights are Air of suit and the Kings are Fire of suit and vice versa. Is that just based on the system that you read with?

    • @ModernMetaphysicae
      @ModernMetaphysicae  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So the in Thoth the Knight is the highest ranking court card - in this deck it is reflected by the elemental association, and the fact that the art on them is directly taken from Lady Freda Harris' work. The King, conversly is the highest ranking in the RWS system. This is reflected in the title. I think the goal the creators of this deck was to create a court system that could be read either in a Toth fashion OR in an RWS fashion. Hope that answers your question.

  • @straycat4427
    @straycat4427 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I haven't bought this deck because like you said it's similiar to Darkness of Light. I do like astrological, Kabbalah, planet and Thoth associations to decks. So that's a winner here. But why did the creator not use Thoth's court names.....they used the standard RWS naming. I really like a good guide book, so why bother if you're not going to go the extra mile and do a good one? All these new mass market decks seem to put alot of effort into pretty boxes and guidebooks that frankly are useless and really don't get me too excited to buy mass market decks. Skipping this one too.

    • @ModernMetaphysicae
      @ModernMetaphysicae  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The deck really is gorgeous, and it seems like the book was probably rushed by the Publisher, at least, that is what I hope. I think for the titles of the courts, the whole idea was to make it a conglomeration of all three systems, so you could pick or choose how you, the read, wish to read it. Thanks for watching and commenting as always!

      @@ModernMetaphysicae I'm wondering if the publishers think that decks won't sell unless they give us a big color book and a fancy box? I never store my cards or books in those boxes. You would think with a creator who's name is "Sephiroth" would write an awesome guidebook! Hee!

    Hello, Dustin! I hope you are well. I know that you probably have a full plate, but I was hoping you would consider creating informative and educational content on traditional and modern tarot systems. I did a TH-cam search and could not find any content on this topic. I will do more research but I thought you would appreciate the opportunity to put out some good information about a subject that many may not be very familiar with. Gotta say I don't own the thoth deck yet I'm in my 1st year of ever owning a tarot deck. And the system ... ugh I can't swallow all of vocabulary. That said I'm always looking at new decks for stretching the meaning. Without a "Real" book I think this deck wouldn't be able to teach me anything. Beautiful cards and so much meaning in them but unless you start with a clue of meaning the symbols would be lost on me. Disappointment in the book for sure. They could have saved money and given a little white booklet.

    • @ModernMetaphysicae
      @ModernMetaphysicae  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The book was a huge let down for sure. If you are really loving the art it could easily be read as an RWS as that is what the imagery follows closely, and there is tons of great books out about that system in general. Thank you for watching Danielle!
