    Just finished the 7 part series. I will be on this ship going to the same ports of call next month. The videos were great and gave me some great ideas of what to do since this will be my first cruise to Alaska and first I’ve on a Royal Caribbean ship. Thanks again for such a great series of videos. Well worth the time watching each of them.

    I just got home from sailing the same ship on the same itinerary and these videos you produced were very helpful. Very high quality content and commentary. Thank you so much for taking the time to document you trip and share it in such a effective manner. I loved how you shared the small important details of how long things took and where you you went and how you got there. Those details made the logistics of what we were doing so much simpler. I cannot say enough about how much I appreciated all you did here. I loved the positivity and energy you brought to the videos. Thanks again for helping make our vacation even better. Looking forward to watching more of your content for ideas on the next trip.

    Little bit of a fun fact about the statue on top of the parliament building back when the statue was being put on top of the parliament building, the construction workers broke the right leg of the statue so they had to make due and make shift of another leg to put on top so on top of the parliament building the statue has two left legs and two left feet a little about the parliament building

    Love love love all your videos! Love your positive energy! Great information, super helpful! So glad I found your channel! I have few questions: what is the best way to keep track of time? and what is the ship time? Is it the local time? Alaska time? Or Seattle time ( we depart from Seattle)?
    And can we take our luggages ourselves? I heard that way we have more freedom of the time to leave the ship.
    Thank you again!

    • @NorthernVikingExplorer
      @NorthernVikingExplorer  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm glad you've been enjoying the videos. We hope that you have a wonderful trip. As for keeping track of time, the ship time does change with a time change during the cruise. If I remember correctly, the ship matches the same time in Alaska as the port. We use our phones and watches to keep track of time. We will also commonly bring an old fashioned Timex so it doesn't change time unless you do it manually. As for disembarkation. They do have self-disambarkation at the end of the cruise where you carry off your own luggage. This is usually one of the first groups to get off the ship.

      Thank you for your reply. How about while at Victoria BC Canada ? Does the ship time change to Victoria BC time? I am going to take your advice and get an old fashion watch. Thanks!!

    We're booked for September 2024 and can't wait! How are the whale watching tours in Victoria?

    • @NorthernVikingExplorer
      @NorthernVikingExplorer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are whale watching tours in Victoria and we have seen lots of whales in the area. However, I would book it with the cruise line as it's such a short day in Victoria. You want to make sure you are back in time. Also, you are typically there towards the evening so it could be getting dark.

    Hello Ken and Andrea, we are doing an Alaskan cruise in August out of Seattle on Ovation of the Seas. I noticed you guys have done several Alaskan cruises on several lines. My question is, which one was your favorite? If you could only do 1 cruise to Alaska, which one would you chose?
    Keep up the great content! Very informative.
    Thanks
    Chris

      Thank you! Glad you've enjoyed the videos. I think our favorite ship has been the Ovation. However, I think our favorite itinerary was the Crown Princess as it did the inside passage plus it was 10 days. 😀👍

    I'm going to Alaska on the Discovery Princess next June. Which ship would you say is better?

    • @NorthernVikingExplorer
      @NorthernVikingExplorer  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They're very different, princess tends to be a little quieter and Royal Caribbean has more options to keep you entertained. Kind of depends on what sort of experience you're looking for. I don't think you can go wrong with either of them.
