I live in Western New York state USA and personally I despise American baked beans, they're disgusting too thick and gummy and way too sweet.
What people on your side of the pond call baked beans, here in America we call pork and beans, those are fantastic.
Amazing x❤
Yes your baked beans are so different. But no American food is. Your food is full of additives
@@CarolandDave Europe has stronger rules for what goes into food. There are way more harmful things in US food
@@olivebobo6885 very thankfully ours is much better regulated
Could of just said New York 😵💫😵💫😴😴
Good evening everyone! 💙
Hope you’re all having a fab Sunday! And welcome to this weeks meals of the week :) I hope you’ve all had a good week! I’ll join you down in the comments for a wee while xxx
haggis.......... natures way of telling DO NOT EAT regardless of how hungry you are. Unless your'e Scottish.
Hi Cheryl. Southern California here. We are struggling with devastating fires. I'm glad I can pop in here and take a quick break from worrying. Thank you.
I was horrified to see on the news what you lovely people are going through - my heart goes out to each and every one of you. I know people criticise social media but when you’re going through a devastating crisis or trauma it can help lighten the load for a while so you can regroup and regain the inner strength to deal with it all. Please take care of you and your loved ones and I pray things soon come right again. xx
Take care of yourself Virginia... and all those you love. Thinking of you from here in Colorado.
I am so sorry. ❤
Good luck ❤
Just was allowed to return from mandatory evacuation yesterday afternoon. I have wind damage but no fire damage. So many friends have lost their homes!
Baked beans are vastly improved with a good dash of Worcestershire sauce as you heat them.
Good idea! I’ll give this a try.👍🏻
In Finland we use lingonberry jam with out "black pudding" (musta makkara). 😋
Beef olives is new to me. Thank you!
It all look scrumptious!
Thank you Cheryl. Warm Baked beans on buttered wholewheat toast with cheddar cheese on top, my go to meal when i don't have time to cook. Delish. Ps i freeze fresh bayleaves, sage, rosemary in ziplock packets, they freeze so well. Take care Gale x
Oh I could go that just now 😂 It's the simple things which are best!
I adore baked beans, never met one I didn't like. Have you heard of Cowboy Beans? Baked beans with beef or sausage in it. Along with the beans, spices, Barbecue sauce, yellow mustard, onions , ketchup etc. Slow cooker. I have had them simmered on an outdoor grill over wood smoke. Heavenly! You can add hot peppers if desired. I know how you enjoy spicy foods.😆 I am from North Central KY in USA. Sounds like it is cold there. It has been here too. I got out of the house for the first time in 8 days. Lots of snow, topped with ice. A few days later several more inches of snow. It hasn't got warm enough to melt much of anything.
Cook quorn bolognaise the day before, the quorn will absorb the flavours and become tasty. I prefer to use frozen quorn 'mince' it seems to absorb the flavours better.
I had Swede (Rutabaga ) and Cornbread on Saturday. You make such a pretty plate of food. We love baked beans too. The beach looks lovely. TY. Love ya.
That steak and ale stew looks so good 😊. And the bread to sop up the gravy! You’re making me hungry ( even though I’m not really!) Hugs to Jasper❤
I love fish 🐟, potatoes 🥔and salad 🥗 with seafood sauce and a wedge of lemon 🍋.
I’m from Australia bake beans of toast delicious..or we use to make jaffy toastier out of it too x
Our beef olives have mealy pudding in them - yum 😊
Oh I much prefer mealy pudding...they're top their Shona! 😍
What’s mealy pudding, is it like white pudding?🤔
@@davidmurphy816 Yes it's the same.
@ - yes, a bit like white pudding.
@ Thanks Shona 👍😊
Thanks for sharing your food always looks delicious.
Cuddle up with Jasper and stay warm!! Its freezing here in Arizona this week and my little cat's ears get soo cold.
Aw bless 😺 It's so cold here too! x
I saw a video on YT for crocheted cat hats. Some liked them and some didn't. They didn't cover the ears though. Probably wouldn't tolerate that.
Looks lovely. My meals of the week -
Monday - Toad in the hole, roast potatoes, peas and gravy.
Tuesday - Pizza.
Wednesday - Mince and dumplings and mashed potatoes.
Thursday - McDonalds; double cheese burger meal.
Friday - Smoked cod in parsley sauce, mashed potatoes and peas.
Saturday - Ham and cheese toasties and tomato soup.
Sunday - Roast beef, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, peas, carrots and gravy. Apple pie and custard for pudding.
That sounds lovely. A very nice selection.
Here in south east of Glasgow the snow is lingering in our street, brr been so cold x
Och, we haven't had any snow Karen 😭😭😭 We're right next to the sea mind you....5 minute walk to the beach/sea front.
@ wow no snow, I love to be near the sea, have a good week x

The beef olive meal looks delicous. I've never heard of that dish before. I might try that soon. And it's served with mashed potatoes! A winner. Thank you.
We had haggis this last week and I couldn’t be bothered messing up more than one pan so I did potatoes, carrots and turnip I; the pan and mashed it all together. It was delicious

You're getting very close to convincing me to get a can of Heinz baked beans from the small British food section at my local store just to try them with mashed potatoes Cheryl! I can get some good sausage to go with as well.
Ooh...sounds like a plan my friend! 😆💓
I love the oval dish for your beef & veggie stew. Another amazing week of

Cheers Cheryl that whole week looked absolutely great. Can’t wait for the beef and Guinness one 👍🏴.
All your meals are brill love your stew looked amazing 😂😂
Hi Cheryl. Thank you for sharing! Really enjoy your menu shares!
Good evening Cheryl, what an array of delicious, warming & comforting meals you’ve produced once again. Love the look of everything with the exception of the baked beans plate - not a big fan of them.🥴 Your beef olive casserole really had my mouth watering 😋, haven’t had them if quite a while - must treat myself next time I’m in the butchers. Still have never tried cheeseburger pasta bake, must give it a go!
Thankfully the Artic blast is forecast to be over for the time being, it’s been Baltic here in Ayrshire 🥶, back to rainy weather apparently, so brollies at the ready!☔️🙄 Hope you have a great week & take care, thanks for sharing as always. xx 👩🏻🍳🍲👌🥰💖
You're absolutely right David...it's been freezing here! We're in Ayrshire too as you know. Thank you as always for stoping by, it's lovely to see you. Wrap up warm ☺
@@WhatsForTeaYou too Cheryl. xx 🥰👍
Beef olives I had always had stuffing inside. I can’t stand stuffing!! 🤢. So sausage wow!! Never thought of that
Nice meals again, wish I could get decent haggis here in yorkshire😢
Aw 😭💕
The meals were lovely Cheryl, you are dull if talent and ideas xx
We are freezing too Cheryl! Stay warm and cozy.
Some very good meal ideas once again ❤
Thanks for sharing. Happy Sunday
It is fun matching up the shopping videos with the Meals of the Week. I haven't made Beef Olives for years, but my mother always put a bread stuffing in the middle, so of course, that was what I did.
With the McCains jacket potatoes, they are frozen? How do you cook them, or heat them, and what is the benefit of using them? How long do they take to cook? i don't think we can get them here in New Zealand, just curious.
A delicious week, well, bar the Baked Beans, although I admit they are good for you, but I cannot bear them!
Hi Patricia 💗 The potatoes have previously been slowly oven baked and then frozen...so cooked basically 👍 You can pop one into the microwave for 4 minutes or...I like to do them for a couple of minutes in the microwave and then into the air fryer or oven to finish them off and crisp up the skin ☺ they're perfect every time! Only benefit of using them really is the time they take to cook...much quicker! x
❤❤hello merry your meals of the week were delicious I note your recipes have a good week merry ❤❤❤
I appreciate your video presentations dear Cheryl.
Every dish looked amazing 😋
Hi everyone
Hi Bessie 👋😊
Thank you ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊

Great video Cheryl! Your food always looks so yummy 😋😋.
Stay warm. Those nice hot meals are beautiful ❤️!
Good morning/Evening Cheryl
Hope you are and keeping warm
In your very freezing weather
Could you please do a recipe video for your beef olives they look so yummy .
We can't get them here in Australia but my Scottish husband would love them he remembers them when he was young living in Scotland with his grandmother and she would make them for him .
Lots of thanks from a very warm mid north coast of Australia.its 5am here and the heat has started .
Bye Diana
Do you buy your baked beans canned? Would you have a baked beans recipe we could do from scratch?
Hi Cheryl I love all the meals They look delicious God bless 🙏🏻✝️☮️🍀🌹💐
I'd like to ask if the jacket potatoes have a soft or crunchy skin. Also do you ever have a Sunday Roast meal on Sundays.? Very much enjoy watching your videos and thanks for sharing.
Hi Sally 🤗 You can either do the potatoes in the microwave....which means the skin won't be crispy, or do what I do....start them off in the microwave and finish them off in the air fryer or oven, for a crispy skin 🙂
Lovelly meals as always 😂
Love everything!!! about your weekly videos, Cheryl. However, when I saw the haggis and, gag, black pudding, I nearly fainted. I am an adventurous eater, but sorry to say, too American. Black pudding? Never. But I would love to invite you to my home in Washington State for our usual dinners. I would hope you would be pleased. I know we would laugh a lot. You are such a dear - every Sunday at 11a.m. Pacific Standard Time you are in my home.
A week of "sausage-y things"! 😅😋
Do you ask others what they feel like when planning your meals?
Indeed 😆 I do! But without my intervention, it would be macaroni cheese every day! 🧀🧀🧀
@WhatsForTea can't blame them! If I could get away with eating it everyday, I would
Thank you
First of all, I thought it was 'corn' mash, but when I looked it up it was Quorn - LOL!
😆👍
Hi Cheryl. Do you add anything to your baked beans or just from the can heated? Just curious.
No stew with a crust this time?😉lol
YUM 😋
Hi Cheryl it’s only me - I hope you’re okay and keeping well but especially keeping warm and dry - I won’t go into any details here but things are pretty bad health wise ~ was all what’s going on. I’ve also sprained my hip. ~ I seriously don’t think things can get any worse ~ anyway I’m looking forward to watching your Vlog/video straightaway as I had my medication about an hour ago ~ have a great week and I look forward to your recipe of the week and your shopping haul ~ sending loads of love and hugs as usual ~ Xxx Xxx
I'm so sorry to hear that Louise...you certainly aren't having an easy time of it are you? 💗 I'm glad you've popped over and hopefully let your mind escape for five minutes....hope you manage to at least have a restful sleep my friend x
Hello Louise - We may not write about it, but we are praying for you when we see your name pop up. You have friends who are keenly involved in your struggles, and are lifting you up in prayer. Be comforted, Louise.
lovely thank you😂
😘
🙂😋😋❤

UNSUBSCRIBED, due to one of your snobby, nasty, and humourless subscribers. I've reported her multiple attacks as, "harassment and cyberbullying." A thoroughly unpleasant woman. I'm surprised to encounter such hostility on your channel, in response to an obviously humourous comment. I don't deserve or need to be subjected to this sort of behaviour.
I am extremely sorry that I have upset you. It was certainly not my 6:40 intention. Maybe my banter is not to everyone's taste. I am not a bully as I have been bullied in past and would never ever want to be perceived like that. I hope you will accept my apology and I will think twice before commenting in future. I wish you all the very best. Regards
@MargaretWood-z6l You were very unpleasant from the start. You came across as very snobby and superior. If you can afford to shop at Sainsbury's and M&S, then lucky you! ... I'm disabled, and have lived alone in unimaginable poverty, misery, and hardship for 20 years. You don't know the half of it. Most of my family are dead now, and the two left alive ignored me all Christmas and New Year, which I spent totally alone ... However, my fortunes are set to change. I've inherited the family home and LOTS of money (around £0.5M), but I won't be "squandering" it at M&S! My parents raised me to value money, and so my frugal lifestyle will continue.
Incidentally, I find bullying and rudeness is rife on social media. I am never gratuitously unpleasant. It's not in my nature. I never attack, unless I'm attacked first. My comments are often intended to be humorous, but nobody seems to find my sense of humour funny.
I stand my comments about "Expensivebury's" ... And incidentally, regarding your comment that I should use fresh pineapple; that is NOT practical for my needs. Canned pineapple has a longer shelf life, and isn't in "sugar syrup" like it used to be. It's in natural juices. Again, your comment came across as superior, rude, and patronising. I eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, but not pineapple.
I would respectfully suggest that you try to be LESS superior, rude, snobby, and patronising, because that is how you came across.
Notwithstanding, thank you for the apology.
