    I did ham for Christmas in my slow cooker; unsmoked joint with honey, grain mustard and soy sauce mixed together and poured over, cooked on low for 6 hrs and basted periodically. Scored the top, poured over some of the cooking juices and glazed it in the oven for 30 minutes. It was so good.

    Last night I made sausage, mash, peas and gravy for my eldest son and me. Lincolnshire sausages, Petit pois. Albert Bartlett potatoes mashed with cream, butter and a dash of white pepper. Also, some instant Bisto gravy to add a bit of meaty moisture. It was delicious. 👍🏻

    I watch you from the US and enjoy all of your videos. I’m often amazed at some of the items the Scottish put together for meals, like chips with a pasta dish or chips and sweet potatoes. Your grocery hauls too are very interesting. My DNA says I’m the majority Scottish and know if I lived there I’d weigh 300lbs! 😂 Such great looking food.

    Hi Cheryl, & once again a Happy New Year to you & yours, also to my fellow WFT subscribers.🥳🎉✨🥂🍾✨🎉🥰 May your channel continue to grow & prosper in 2025!💗
    Once again your meals all looked delicious, I just love a baked ham glazed ham & make one every Xmas, I always make my own port, cranberry & orange sauce to accompany my Turkey & it’s a fab accompaniment to have with ham. You can slice, portion up & freeze your left over ham, ideal for rolls & sandwiches to keep you going for a while.😋
    I make my Chinese chicken curry exactly the same as you Cheryl, complete with rice and chips - a match made in heaven 😁! Never thought to use those Coleman’s sachets just as a gravy, thanks for that wee tip.👍 Your chicken casserole looked so tasty, & your fish & chips looked so tempting - presentation was beautiful as always 😍.
    Take care, thanks for sharing & hope you have a great week Cheryl, for those returning to work following the festive break, I hope they break you back in gently! xx 👩🏻‍🍳🍽️👌💖

      @JanetBrown-px2jn 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I’m not sure that when people say to many carbs they actually mean carbs, I think for some of us at least it’s more the combinations, like rice, and chips with curry, or lasagna, chips, and bread, to a lot of us chips just doesn’t go with lasagna, or curry, a bit like how to a lot of Brits hash browns doesn’t go on a full English, same as bread, butter chips, or crisps is foreign to Americans, but I don’t necessarily think it’s the carbs, it’s just to them the combination, though as someone growing up eating them I know they are delicious. When I was growing up, baked potatoes where bought off carts on the street, and all you got was a potato, no butter nothing, and at home when you baked one yourself you put butter on it nothing more, and I can’t wrap my head around baked beans on a jacket potato, nothing to do with the carbs, same goes for tuna, and corn on a jacket, just to me, and I think others a strange combination.😊

    Grrat meals Cheryl. I'm going to make some of thise morning rolls have made them before with your recipe but it was ages ago. They were really nice & a decent size , se rolls nowadays couple bites * they gone , I like a nice big roll. Never thought of using the casserole mixes as just a gravy that's a really good idea & do tasty. I had pulled pork in the freezer left over from beginning if the week so made a pulled pork like cottagd pie with buttery chive mash, was really nice. Going to make your lentil & bacon soup, I know you had a tin 1 with your rolls but presume you got a recipe for 1. I dod your pea & ham soup last week, really nice great meals as always Cheryl

    All the best for 2025! All your dinners looked great, good home cooking! I have heard a lot of folk recommending the Mayflower Curry Sauce, so I must have a look for it...

    6:39 but you haven’t got double carbs, you’ve got 1/2 a portion of chips & half rice, it’s no different to having 2 different veg

    Good evening, Cheryl it’s only Lou ~ I hope you’re okay and keeping well. How is the snow affecting you? We had some snow flurries last night and it started settling in first thing this morning but within half an hour it was raining and it’s been raining on and off all day ~ I’m looking forward to watching your Vlog/video. I’m just waiting to be repositioned. ~ have a great week and looking forward to to your next Vlog/video - sending lots of love and hugs as usual ~ Xxx Xxx

      We're very well my lovely 🥰 Just looking forward to the year ahead....a new year filled with possibilities! We've had absolutely no snow....yet! I think it's because we're so close to the sea...literally a five minute walk to the beach from our house 😂 Thank you so much for watching and all of your support over the last year xxx

    Good evening Cheryl. Everything looks delicious, as usual. That ham would be delicious added to macaroni and cheese. My mom used to make scalloped potatoes with ham and onion. It would also be good in Colcannon, I think thats what it's called, if I remember correctly. I have tried to make it a couple of times after seeing a Tyler Florence episode. The combo of creamy mashed potato, cabbage and ham is just delicious. I would love to see you do a video on it, if its something your family would like.
    Hope you all are well. Have a good week.

    I agree that gravy is not a thing to go with ham, but a lot of fruits and fruit sauces go fab with it; pineapple, apricot, orange - all just yummy. On today's dish, were those veg like snow peas? I didn't quite understand the name (even with the caption) and had never heard that before.

    I bought breaded cod fillets this week because we like to eat them on a roll with tartar sauce and cheese and lettuce. Do you use tartar sauce I wonder? We make it at home with dill pickles cut fine mixed with mayo or you can buy it in a jar in the store. It makes breaded fish so tangy! Nice nice nice hot meals this week as always. Yes I do smile at your chips mixed with different foods, but I love it too. Eating what you like makes the world go round! ❤❤❤

    Ham and eggs make a nice breakfast. The thicker chips are my steak fries.

    I love to watch what you shop for because you give prices, and it’s fun to compare my NYC prices with yours. As you say it’s pretty much the same every week I would imagine that’s why you don’t get as many views on your shopping videos.😊
