I remember the shave you showed of your 1st shave. Little nicks not much of anything. Thank you for hanging tuff. I believe you & I started about same time. Your better @ it. Keep up all ya do. The best Fred H.
Thnx Kevy, I agree. One’s skin acts & shaves different in different air temps. Summer time more boar & badger brushes. Winter it’s synthetic for me. Get best results from lather, makes difference for me. Seems like hot shaves go lots faster than cool 😎 ones. The best
GFT Spanish Leather is a favorite of mine as well Kevy💈💈 Excellent stuff. Nice shave and good use of the alum, I use it every shave. Have a great weekend.
Always fun to stop in and see you have. Just used my Wilkinson TTO a few days ago. I have really grown to like the razor. Gives a good shave for what I paid for it. So no complaints here. Cheers and have a good week.
Good evening Kevy great shave as always.might nip into Morrisons here in Scotland and purchase that razor and check it out a saw it in there last week.
I've got lots of stuff in my shave den, but Saturdays is my Turkish shave day so I used only Turkish products for today's shave. We've had a pretty mild summer so far, + 27 at its finest moments. Spanish leather scented products are hard to come by here so I don't bother. Man, I've been watching you for years.
Great shave. I feel you. My neck is becoming a place where I get weepers more frequently than before. Maybe it’s my technique slacking off or my skin evolving. I don’t know, but I can still get good shaves despite the mess that happens. I was forced to do a cold water shave when the basement flood from a storm knocked out the water heater. The water heater is now fixed, and I can do hot water shaves normally again. I tried the Dorco blades recently when I gave the Prime Platinum a shot. It worked well and it’s definitely miles better than the ST-300 that sucked for me. Have a good one!
Most shaves are taking strokes that are too long and then repeating over that area without washing the razor. So you go down once and that is it. You can re-lather and do another pass. You may find this most helpful in sensitive or risk areas.
Hello Kevy, Wilkinson Sword has been my first razor and the worst, regardless of the blades I was using, I always ended up with several cuts on my face, then I used Edwin Jagger DE89, Muhle R41 and King C Gillette, all three of these razors gave me a good shave, even with the Muhle R41 I had a more comfortable shave than the Wilkinson Sword, the best shave I've ever had was with the King C Gillette using ASTRA superior platinum blades
Hi geokovacs, I couldn't agree more! I am an experienced DE shaver with many razors from top end to the 34c Merkur. I bought the Wilkinson TTO and it ripped me up badly!! I use it on rare occasions but have to be very careful with it. Plus it feels really cheap to me. My best shaving razor is probably my Rockwell 6S with any plate or any blade. Or the 6C if you don't want to spend as much.....plus being chromed, it glides better than the 6S. Happy shaving Sir! Dave.
The Wilkinson/Weishi head has positive blade exposure while the Mühle/EJ and Merkur head have negative blade exposure (but way larger blade gap - no clue regarding R41, which I never used) so they're more forgiving when using pressure. Try riding the cap when using the Weishi with minimal pressure towards the top cap.(not the blade). Since the Weishi has a very small blade gap it limits the window of ideal attack angles but if you get it right it can be quite an efficient and smooth shaver. There's a thread Weishi vs Super Speed on TheShaveDen forum.
Great video as always. I was the one with the question concerning the 6s and your skin made of steel. I am still pretty impressed. Keep up the good work and have fun acting. Greetings, Heiko-shaves
Shampoo that deals with dry skin before winter begins is a good help. Scalp irritation can affect the face and surrounding areas. Also after shave every now and then helps the skin. Do not do and a ultra clean shave every day go for one direction single pass shaves to rest the skin.
Hey Kevy, I have that same trouble spot on my neck area. I've been doing this 11 years, my weapon of choice is the merkur 37c slantbar with feather blades. Hair on my neck goes against the grain from right to left. If I do this pass, I get tonnes of those weepers. After 11 years I've given up on that pass and just go with the grain and across the grain on the neck. Also Scottish drinking day sounds like a fun holiday ;-)
Hello Kevy nice shave ,not tried the GFT Spanish leather yet . I like that leather scent i have the wickhams Russian and Stirling British leather,so yeah need more leather. Have a good weekend
Great Shave Kevy! I’m waiting for the SL set (tube and skin food) to arrive today after over a month of waiting! Until Friday I didn’t even know what happened to the shipment, your video was like a good omen! 😂
Great shave kevy.spanish leather was the first trumpers product i bought and its definitely my favourite ,so much i purchased shower gel and deodorant to match .love that scent ! Cheers buddy ,col.
Good session today, Kev. I have that razor, but I found the handle too long to finesse effectively. I hope to get Trumper's Spanish Leather soon. I hope the Fringe goes spot on. We didn't get to see Riley's new summer cut! Please enjoy the weekend, and forward my kind regards to the missus, Riley as well. Cheers!
That was the first DE razor I bought, on a whim during lockdown. I have a vague recollection of seeing the edge of the rabbit hole whizzing by shortly after…. 😂
the reason you get these weepers is probably the razor being overly mild thus you put alot of pressure. you need a more of an aggressive razor and a very light touch. cheers mate fantastic products as always!
@@kevyshaves4109 You are also passing over the same area four or five times with no lather on it. So you go over the lathered area cleaning it away and then run the razor multiple times over that exact same spot with a clogged up razor. Try just one stroke to clean lather and leave especially on the more sensitive areas. Those little nicks are probably old scars that are being irritated.
I agree GFT creams performance is okay but they have some nice scents. Dorco Prime blades work well for me and usually dirt cheap. Great fun shave brother 👌🤠👌
Kevy, my wife and I are planning to be in Scotland for the last week in August and plan to visit the Fringe. We would like to attend your play. Could you tell me the name of the play? Also, it would be a real pleasure to meet you. Thanks, Bruce Wilson
Hi Bruce. The play runs from August 2nd-20th. I'm not sure if you'll be there in time or not to see it. It's called The Collie's Shed we are at The Gilded Balloon in Chambers Street in Edinburgh. Here's the link for all the info - bit.ly/3VVyzsI - it would be great to say hello. Kevy 😀
Hey Kevy, love the vids. Just curious, when those dots appear during the first pass on your trouble spot, are you certain that you're shaving with the grain? For me, if I accidentally go against the grain on my neck without having gone with and across, I get very irritated.
I should really go at an angle on that spot. Depending on the razor, I sometimes get away with it. This time, it caused a few weepers. My technique is never the same twice. Cheers. Kevy 😀
I been wishing Gillette would make a new TTO razor for like 8 years now.....I mean a new adjustable would be amazing but just a TTO would be nice! They are just so much more convenient to load a razor into.
I agree. My favourite razors are the Rockwell 6S and Merkur Futur, but I've always been fascinated by the simplicity and elegance of butterfly razors, so I'm keen to get a more aggressive TTO razor (my Parker 99r and Weishi are too mild for my taste). I think a Rockwell T2 will be next.
Ho Richard. I'm doing great thanks. I've been busy doing a play, so I've not had the time - or energy 😂 - to film a vid. I'll get back to it very soon mate. Thanks for your concern. Kevy 😀
I'm in Los Angeles - It's HOT. I've been looking for GFT Spanish Leather in a triple milled hard puck. Either form, NOBODY is carrying gft s l. When did you buy that gem?!

Hi Ronald. I'm doing ok thanks. I'll be back with a new video soon. Cheers. Kevy 😀
I've used the Wilkinson sword classic razor with a Gillette nacet blade today
Brilliant 👍
