From what I've gathered they're revisiting typical gangsta rap themes and putting a surreal horror twist to them. Nothing is Safe seems to echo shootouts between rival gangs, but the assailant is a nonhuman entity. At least that's what I gathered, but I could be wrong.

Which is similar to how cops are described on He Dead where they are portrayed as werewolves. The reason I'm pretty sure its cops is its a twist on '"Assault on Precinct 13" hence the Carpenter vibes
