The more frequent population quote is around 2000 people. Certainly in Summer it is more than 1400. Also Dawson continues to support gold miners being a service area for them. Considering that many mining towns are empty Dawson is doing alright. Whitehorse is a lovely small city as well. 🙂
Thank you for your comments. We loved this area so much and Dawson City is just a fun place. We’ve met really interesting people there. And another good thing about it is that it can be a starting point for further adventures to the Dempster or to Alaska!
Yes around Solstice and Canada Day it’s definitely busy. There are lots of Europeans too. The town has a great vibe during the summer. I think you will have a great time
Usually people donate them, believe it or not 😃 For example there was a mountaineer who donated his frostbitten amputated toe. And lots of similar stories. I think they have about ten toes that they rotate. Would you try the sourtoe cocktail?
Nothing can compete with the romance of Dawson City and Old Town Lunenburg in Nova Scotia. Canada is a very romantic place.
We’be been to Lunenburg as well. Lovely place!

But... where do the toes come from? The local graveyard? Do relatives of the deceased consent? 🤔
