What a wonderful song for a summer afternoon while in the backyard enjoying a glass of ice tea thinking over your good weekend of relaxation. Just cannot get any better than that.
I've been searching for this song for the better part of this week but I kept typing in "Christine". I love this song very much. It's one of the first songs I heard in the Smooth Jazz genre even before the name Jeff Lorber was known to me. It's been YEARS since I heard this song.
#SmoothJazz
Just found out Jeff Lorber Fusion is touring! Saw Jeff back in late 70's when he had Kenny G playing Sax with him at Armadillo WHF in ATX. Fantastic show. San Antonio, Tx, May 20th...here I come!
I have both this and the original LP from 1978. Despite both versions being from the same artist, the original is ALWAYS the better one, in my opinion, anyway!

Michael McDermott in early June, had the pleasure to see JLF. Jeff's players were Everrtte Harp, Paul Jackson Jr., Jimmy Haslip, & Sonny Emory.
Not heard of Kenny Gorelick in years. Is he still in the business?

Anybody tell me who the sick guitar player is?
That’s what I’d like to know too! Sounds an awful lot like Norman Brown.
Does anyone know who the guitarist is on this track? Sounds like G.B. on the outré.
According to the personnel listed on Lorber's LP, "Soft Shoe" it is Dean Reichert .
On the Lorber LP, Soft Space, personnel lists the guitarist as Dean Reichert .
@@markbridwell8972 Thanks!
Does anybody know who this lady is?
Somehow, the original Joe Farrell version seems better...although this isn't bad at all.
Agree 100% Nice to have an updated version to blend with today's more modern smooth jazz.
