This has been the best upgrade I've done to the interior of my 2001 Toyota Tacoma 4x4. So in this video im adding the same Koomus magnetic phone mount to my 1996 Tacoma 4x4.
My son has a dashboard just like that, I never would have thought you could swap the hazard light over like that. That was genius, I'm going to show this to him. That was a damn good job
haha yep, the switch will only fit in upside down. I think the dash was designed to keep you from doing that. The plate on this particular truck doesn't have much pressure, so I add a thin bead of glue to the edge and its rock solid. I have this same setup in my other truck with no glue and its never moved even on some serious trails.
@@OverlandUnderBudget Good to know. It does surprise me that it only fits one way, since that's the default location in my grandmother's 98 Tacoma. ah well. I really like the idea though, might do that in the 04 I just bought.
I did this yesterday and and was not happy with the overall outcome. It did work, but I thought it was not all that durable and found that the overall location was not real practical. Overall good idea though.
Everyone will have their own experience and preference. I really like this in my truck but nothing is ever perfect. Eventually went with a full custom dash piece and 10inch touch screen would CarPlay
I wish my airbag keyhole wasn’t there man this is such a good idea 🔥
I was able to make a mount for my 03 worked around the airbag key

Epic choice of tunes at the end.
Wow! Incredible mod. Great job!
Thanks! its one my favorite updates!
Fantastic but simple idea. I like this very much, i like the concept of what you are doing is quality but on a reasonable price. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Joe i really appreciate that.
Sir, this was pure excellence! Thank you!!!
Thank you!!
I thought wtf, but by the end, pure genius.
This is genius I'm doing this on mine!!!
I think my favorite part is the upside down hazard switch. :P How well does the blank off plate hold when going over rough bumps?

Bravo! job well done. 👍
thank you!
You’re a FN Genius!
Nice video I made some mounts for my 1st gen taco too

@@OverlandUnderBudget that is what I was referring too. The fact that it works, but not the best. Either way it was cleaver...
GREAT!!!
can we get link of this mount
Hmmm is it gna hold for long thou
Looks like the vent louver mount. Is that correct? Looking to do this to my 1st gen.
Where did you get the new plastic piece that fits perfectly where the hazard was?
Did you ever find this piece? I’m interested too
What was the Allen key in there for?
Have you been offroad with it? Does the phone still stick to the mount?
MadjikMan56 curious as well. The mag mounts never hold my phone well
And a working cup holder..? 😂
What kind of charger is that?
Actually not a charger just a mount.
