Make-up artists usually don't tell their clients what make up they're using on them. They just do their faces and let them go, nothing wrong with it.
What I think it's wrong is James using these celebrities as an "endorsement" for his brand when they are not aware that he's using their image.

I sell products on Etsy to the US from Canada and it's $8. I KNOW it's cheaper to ship the opposite way. $30 is insanity.
I pay $23 USD ($31 CAD) to ship from the USA to Canada for any packages that weigh 8oz to 32oz so no, it’s not insane.
I live in Canada and getting stuff shipped from the US is almost impossible. It's so expensive.

It really doesn't seem like a smart move to try to get free endorsements out of big name celebrities without them even knowing. There's no celebrity that would take on free endorsement for products so there is no way this would sit right with them. This could end up being very bad coverage or even legal trouble if any of them catch wind.

The use of celebrity's faces as endorsement, when the product was sent as PR for testing with no contract or agreement...seems very sketchy to me. At the very *least* I feel like it's going to get him in some shit with the artists he sent samples to, at the very *most* it may get those artists fired by their clients. *MESSY*

Guys, by his OWN ADMISSION about the extra tubes of ink and cold brew he ordered, it takes a few WEEKS to even fulfill an order. I personally worked in product development for two different cosmetic companies and you need to order your product at least two months in advance of a launch. There’s fill time for the product in the tubes, packing the tubes into boxes, and then shipping alone is at least a week. So unless his new small brand is somehow making these products IN HOUSE, and they bypassed all LEGALLY REQUIRED product stability testing, and magically did everything to have ready to ship product in a week, HE IS LYING. IT CANNOT PHYSICALLY BE DONE. And again, i say this as someone who worked in specifically cosmetics product development. I cannot anymore with this “speculation,” he is straight up lying to you that he was working on that formula a week out from a launch.
Maybe I’m old + superstitious, but that truck getting into a wreck is 100% a bad omen here 😂 I do hope everyone involved was ok

To be fair pressed pigments aren't FDA approved for eye use but they're still readily available and used

I never thought that a celeb wearing certain makeup was them endorsing it, rather the makeup artist endorsing it. Unless they mention something specifically. That being said, I can’t believe that JC still has friends that would do him a favor and use his stuff on celebs.
Even if the allegations against him weren't true,(I haven't done a lot of research about it) James in general just gives bad vibes, he gives fake personality/ a friend that would talk shit behind your back.

From my understanding the way it's typically said is "Beyonce's makeup artist uses this product" or "JLo's artist uses this" when trying to get sort of a free promo when you know they've used your product before. You don't just say "Beyonce uses my product" because these performers do not know what their artists are using on their makeup or hair at any given time so it's not fair to claim an endorsement of use from the actual celebrity when they aren't the ones putting it on or choosing the products themselves.

Isn’t this the same guy that in the beginning of his career would tag popular brands to his makeup looks, but wasn’t wearing the product. The goal was for the brand to re-share his look so he can gain a following. For example he couldn’t afford a Kylie black lipstick so he used a cheaper black lipstick, tagged Kylie, photo was shared and people went to buy the product to create his look.

I'm not surprised about the shipping to Canada being so high. The shipping prices have been insane lately. I was going to buy a hoodie from a band I like in the US and almost fainted when I saw the shipping was $90. Recently ordered 2 shirts and a hoodie from another shop in the US and the shipping was a bit over $70.

As far as the first class international shipping, it looks like he’s actually using USPS. If that’s the case, then it is extremely expensive. I am a registered nurse and hair care product formulator and when I see all the 'SNAKE OILS" and UNSAFE products being sold in the TikTok shop and people are buying them like crazy, it makes me really sad. I was never excited for his makeup launch in the first place. Every makeup brand has come out with paint for your face and i think he could've done a better job.

I paused the video for a bit just to say that the “promotional” pictures is a bit of a reach. The artist (unless they’re under a strict contract or they specified the products they trust/like to their MUA) doesn’t have to know the brand that was used on them. Their MUA can use any brand they like and/or trust on their clients, all they have to do is ask consent in posting their pictures on their social medias where they will most like list the products they used. From high end to indie brands have reposted and enjoyed that bit of publicity when it comes to MUAs using their brands. James isn’t any different. We can criticize him for everything else except for that because Lancôme, Gucci, Valentino, and even Alamar Cosmetics have done the very same.

I have my own opinions about James, especially now that his brand is now open and products are being sent out. I would like to see reviews to see how well these paints are, more specifically now that we are now entering autumn/fall. If the products work, then they work. Again the whole face paints are not beginner friendly, unless you would use them as graphic liners. We shall see how his products perform and how long consumers can have them (timeline) in their kits.
