- Morphe filed for bankruptcy earlier this year and after being taken over by new owners, there's some new plans in the future for Forma and Morphe and those plans don't include influencers...or do they?

There’s like thousands of tiktokers to choose from drama on TH-cam is 800 times worse as you’re connected with a full time audience. If a tiktoker will get into drama it’ll be forgotten way faster than if a youtuber would like james Charles for example. Many tiktokers are forgettable so it wouldn’t affect them as much. Besides tiktok is the new wave now, so publicity on there is more cost effective.

Right!? I worked for a company that laid off 50% of the company 2 months after the vid outbreak. They got the employees they were letting go of on a zoom call to let them know they were being leg go of and asked them to log off and pack up their work equipment after the call. That the shipping label had already be sent to them for the return of company property. I was pregnant and sick to my stomach. I was not let go but I felt horrible. Some of my peers who were good workers, single moms, left without a job just like that. I left as soon as I could. Requested vacation. Once approved. I put in my two weeks lol. They were so blindsided. They really asked if I could reschedule my vacation and I said, "oh no. I wont be doing that." They were shocked and didn't press further. Awful company

The way Meredith does her makeup is crazy, she must run through makeup bottles so fast. If makeup brands got to choose how we all did our makeup, they'd all want us to do it like that, so they'd earn more $$$$
She can tax write it off since her foundation is her signature look and has made her thousands if not millions which us part of her work so if she does spend $$$ on a lot of bottles most likely she tax writes it off because this is her business move

I thought about getting it but I already had tried a terrible Morphe palette beforehand and decided I didn’t like the formula, so glad I didn’t get it. Back then I didn’t wear much colorful makeup anyways, and now I have way prettier and better colorful palettes! But the chokehold that palette had was insane

I have seen so many pics of Merideth with orange yellow foundation not blended into her neck on the bad mua reddit, the makeup looks okay under ring light and studio light, but in candid shots its always so bad

Instead of Morphe creating their own fans through product improvements and formulation advancements, it relied on someone else's fanbase to lift them. They sabotaged their longevity. Even though MAC makeup is no longer trending, people out of the loop will still buy MAC as a safe go-to. Makeup is so competitive now, and I feel like nostalgia for the brand is more associated with the influencers and not with product performance.

For people out of the loop of Make up/beauty influencers products, they’re more likely to turn towards known, established brands like MAC, L’Oréal, Shishedo etc. I would be less likely to trust or try Jacqueline cosmetics, Painted by James Charles or anything else. I think the only ones I would try would be Rare or Fenty that too because it’s a celebrity endorser along with the rave reviews.
For the loyal ones, obviously they’ve found the products that work for them and don’t want to try anything new.
I was at least hoping it would be morphe branded products promoted by micro influencers so it’s still utilising influencer marketing but it’s promoting morphe themselves and not some collab
I’ve worked in the makeup and skincare industry, specifically the time where influencer marketing was massive. Morphe was never good aside from the Ariel set. When I buy makeup I buy Chanel, Nars, MAC. Yes these brands have become less popular but they still for the most part understand professional quality for everyday wear, as well as color theory.
I have 4:11 avoided morphe since 2019. By buying influencer collabs, it's just financially rewarding drama , attention seekers. 🤥

Idk I have products of theirs from before they went influencer collab crazy. They're just morphe branded, and they're some of the best eyeshadow I own and that's compared to the more expensive products I have, and I still use my brush set every day and it's still perfect. Their products were always good, honestly it was all the collabs that put me off buying any more stuff. The quality wasn't there because they started pushing things out too fast and in too vast quantities.
Watching Meredith put on this influencer persona is hard to watch having met her before she took off, it for real is like selling your soul, who acts like this?????

An an ex influencer, morphe was the first company to recognize me and bring me to launch parties, send me PR, take me to brunch personally. I grew close with the old team. Idk what happened to them but the people who took over just saw gold and ran to start digging.

morphe had the golden opportunity to solidify themselves in the market with good products, but they took the easy way out and used influencers and their fans to keep the company going. the problem is that influencers get cancelled, they lose their hype and people have become more demanding with brands and the personalities they support and work with. MAC is a good example of a brand that even though it is no longer at its peak, people still buy and recommend its products. morphe not giving their employees notice was vile and i don't know how this isn't illegal???
I've been an esthetician and makeup artist for a little over 20 years and honestly these quote-unquote influencers, they really need to stop putting that damn eyedropper all over their face and then put it back in the bottle. That is not what it is used for or its intended purpose 🙄 just like serums, there is an eyedropper for a reason. But they all seem to be out here wiping that applicator all over their face and then when they put it back in the bottle, they're not realizing that they're putting bacteria into their foundations and or serums or even moisturizers by doing that. Cesspool waiting to happen. Just please use your hands or a beauty blender or a brush, whatever your preference is, just don't use the actual applicator on your face 😬

But yet these influencers are lying and not even giving knowledgeable information to these products.. let alone using the products properly. That damn eyedropper face smearing thing really gets to me, because it should just be proper knowledge that you should already know. Anything that you apply on your face and put back into the container after, that product is going to get contaminated regardless. Do that for a month and then look at it under a microscope, they would never do it ever again 😆 🤦🏻♀️

Their collabs are arranged and put into production months/years in advance. It'll be 9 months to two years before you see the full scope of the new direction they are headed in.
I just realised that I havent bought a new eyeshadow pallete in 7 years... I have 3 BHCosmetics palletes that I still use to this day (not as much as I did back in the day) but makeup just became meh, everything has already been seen and no new collab will change that. Maybe they just need to do what they have done in the past, make good products with their own name on the front, not some influencers face that will be connected to it, cuz we all know non of them did the work or had any say in those collabs, they just pose for the photos..

I had sooo many issues with Morphes setting sprays. I have 2 cans that are full that stopped working have 2 uses. The foaming primer broken pump reminded me of that.

That ABH collab with Jackie Aina was really well executed. But I still think they didn't gave it enough time to shine and came out too soon with the next palette. Nonetheless, it's still one of my favourite palettes even tho it's on its last leg.

At this point, customers turn towards influencers (TH-cam, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) to see if it is worth spending X-amount of dollars, whether it is a whole collection or just a single product. These companies rely on these services, however, if an influencer does find themselves in trouble (high or low) Forma better get in gear and make sure they do what they need to do rather than sticking around (like with Jeffree and James) and trying to get their products out. We shall see.

I'm confused as to how anyone can look at Meredith Duxbury and want to view her as a cosmetics role model. She put a tablespoon of foundation 3 shades too light then topped it with a gob of bronzer to warm it up. Why? Why would someone who is what, 23, need to put all that on her skin? And then proceed to rub it in like it's moisturizer??? She's going to create so many skin issues in the next few years with the way she treats her face.

We have a morphe store here in Manchester (the english one) in a very popular shopping centre and I swear besides when it opened ive never seen more than 2 people inside it at one time even on busy days. Out of all the stores in the world to close down I dont get why or how the UK ones are still open because they cannot be getting much traffic.
Same in Notts when I’ve been past our Morphe store it’s never anyone in there at all, just the employees stood talking trying to find something to do

Never was into Morphe. I got a trial size of their setting spray for free gift from Ulta and I actually like it. It's like the only setting spray I ever liked.
If you want to find an alternative, I suggest googling "morphe setting spray dupe" and see if you like any of the products that come up
Honestlty I havent bought from morphe way before they even closed their physical stores, I just got into it cuz at the time I followed people like Manny, Jeffree, etc. The products are very basic looking back now lol

This is all sad cause I genuinely like Morphe's regular products. I've only really used their eyeshadow palettes but the pigment payoff from some of the more vivid colors is great. I hate what they did to their employees but if they're under a new parent company and vowing to do better I might keep an eye out on their palettes.
