    Audi Brussels begins mass production of the Audi e-tron. The brand’s first all-electric SUV has a range suitable for everyday use. With a charging capacity of up to 150 kW at quick-charging stations, it is ready for the next long-distance stage in about 30 minutes.
    Audi is the first automobile manufacturer worldwide to receive a certificate from the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI). With the Performance Standard certification, the ASI confirms that Audi meets the ASI requirements for industrial users of aluminum and sustainably designs and manufactures the aluminum components of the battery housing of the Audi e-tron. For the assessment, independent third-party auditors carried out audits at the Audi plants in Győr, Neckarsulm and Brussels. As the next step, Audi intends to ensure the sustainability of these components also in its supply chain. To those ends, the company plans to work specifically with partners that are also certified by the ASI.
    Aluminum is an important material in an automobile but is very energy intensive in production. Audi therefore places great value on the sustainability values and material stewardship of the materials it uses. “Audi stands for sustainability along the entire supply chain,” stated Bernd Martens, Member of the Board of Management for Procurement and IT. “The Aluminium Stewardship Initiative has created transparency with its new certification program.” Martens stated that the battery, as a major component of the new, all-electric Audi e-tron, was therefore just the beginning, and that Audi would gradually have its own development, procurement and production processes audited for as many aluminum components as possible at the company’s plants worldwide. He stated that in addition, Audi intended to ensure sustainability in the long-term by means of ASI-certified partners and their suppliers along their respective upstream supply chains.

    I thought the E-Tron was the first vehicle ever that was 100% electromechanical brakes, no hydraulic system at all.

    I have a 2019 Etron Tecknik. It is incredible however the aluminum components are absolute motherfuckers to fix. The car was in an accident in November and it is still getting fixed. 6 months to fix the car after a minor accident is unacceptable.

    Seems awfully slow.
    What's up with that moving battery platform thing? Why took that what felt like 5 minutes to pick up a battery pack?

    Wasserstoff ist die Zukunft und nicht Elektrik

      Doof nur, dass Wasserstoffautos auch Elektroautos sind.
      Das Speichermedium Wasserstoff ist in vielerlei Hinsicht unpraktischer und unlogischer als Akkus und das schlichte Anschließen an den Strom.
      [Was ist besser? Strom den du selbst erzeugen könntest, oder Wasserstoff den du irgendwo kaufen musst? 😉]
      Erstmal n bissl informieren bevor man sowas von sich gibt 😉

      Wasserstoff ist Blödsinn. Aber das wird dir die Zukunft zeigen.

      Rasalas ich könnte ja meinen Wasserstoff zuhause herstellen. Dazu wird dann neben Strom auch ein Gartenschlauch an den Wagen angeschlossen. Der erzeugt dann über Nacht Wasserstoff, speichert diesen aufwendig und auf dem Weg ins Büro wandelt die Bbrennstoffzelle ihn wieder um in Strom für den Antrieb. 🤪

      azschalter Viel Spaß beim schlafen wenn der Kompressor die ganze Nacht läuft, der das ganze auf 700 bar bringt.

      Lorenz Müller du hast also meine Ironie nicht erkannt. Schade, aber kann passieren. Wasserstoff ist aus meiner Sicht blödsinn. Das wollte ich damit zum Ausdruck bringen.
