- In this video I will be reviewing this Harbor Freight Braun Under Hood LED work light. It retails for $36 which is quite inexpensive considering the size and features it has. The light is cordless with a rechargeable battery and comes with both an AC and DC charger. It has 2 brightness you can set. I will go over the pros and cons of this light, so make sure you watch the entire video.

Cool video. I installed a $14 under-hood light that I bought on Amazon. It's basically a water proof under-cabinet LED strip light that's held in place with 3M sticky tape. It also comes with a plunger on/off switch. It's not as bright as the Harbor Freight, but it does a good job of lighting up the whole engine bay and it's permanently mounted to the car.
Good review. I like the tip about the light will spin to face the LEDs up. I like the clamp idea on the bungie cords.
Not sure we had to "ride along" though. I could have stayed in the garage and waited for Justin to come back. :)

Nice review. For the price it seems like a nice light. I'm just shocked that Harbor Freight had any inventory with all the problems with shipping. I live in the Los Angeles area and there are now 100 ships stuck in the ocean waiting to offload their containers. Buy your stuff now before you can't. Take care!

I picked one of these up today for like $80. Was a different design same brand. pretty sure it 1200 lumens. Charger is in different spot and it has clamps that are adjustable unlike this with the stretchy hooks. The one i have has buttons to push in to adjust clamps and size to mount under hood. Worth the money
Pretty decent light and I already have a bunch of those clamps. I may have to pick one up
The first problem is you have to hook it onto the hood after so long it’ll damage your paint unless ur putting a micro fiber towel or something to cushion the hooks on the hood

mine does not work while charging...
I am looking for a under hood light and under mower deck. I need strong magnets. The light i have now magnets are very weak, falls off all the time. I end up just laying it on engine stuff. Good review you did. Thanks

Bought it used it 1 time not bright enough..... returned it.
How you keep very clean the engine?, I mean how you and what you use to clean it
First is make sure you don't have any oil leak as that will just turn the engine bay into a sticky mess. What I do is every couple of months (while I am washing my car), I will rinse the engine bay with hose water, and use the soapy water to do a quick scrub. Do a final rinse and let it dry. Don't spray directly onto the alternator or any other electrical components. I don't use any dressing as that also attracts dirt. You can also clean the underside of the hood the same way. That's it, your engine bay will look new even after 10 years.

For a professional use , it is not good . Get a better one .
Quality's not that great. If you have Milwaukee tools, the M12 underhood light is much better. And charging a separate battery is way more convenient. The cheapest I've seen it for is $100 tool only

I have one of these and I’m disappointed. Light isn’t bright enough, magnets are weak and I’ve never gotten anywhere near 3.5 hours of run time out of it, even on the low setting.
You call that a work light? You should of titled it, " How to install a Harbor Freight Light Saber under the hood of your car." 😂
