Technically, they don’t pierce his suit because of his metal body underneath. The reason cloth tears is that the kinetic energy overpowers the elasticity of the material. A knife can do so easier because it focuses the kinetic force into a smaller area. But as there is sheer metal underneath, the material doesn’t stretch at all.
I love how Orange was just a random word that Lelouch choose for the performance, then became the key for Jeremiah´s PTSD, and now he just accept that title with proud xd

Having already jumped into the main staging ground wit the Lancelot, Lloyd was presumably still searching for a pilot among the active ranks at that moment, as he's seen lamenting the fact in a later scene, having just missed someone who headed to the battlefield minutes before. Given the fact that Jeremiah (and the other Pureblood faction members) had just launched a couple of scenes before, coupled with Jeremiah's later demonstrations of prowess in the seat of several different Knightmare Frames throughout the series, it's not too far of a shot to guess that he was the pilot they were after. Then Suzaku shows up for medical attention, Lloyd probably looks at his dog tags, thinks "what the hell, why not?", looks up his test scores, and then probably has a serious philosophical pondering about the notions of fate before getting to work, indirectly causing about 70% of Lelouch's problems going forward.

His fight with Anya is one of my favourites. It doesn't have the best action or anything, but Jeremiah's Knightmare being pulled apart piece by piece until he basically blows it up himself until he can reach Anya and call checkmate, all the while delivering her defeat as a gentleman. (chef kiss)

the fact that at the start of the series he's an arrogant ass with some slightly above average skill, and by the end when his loyalty comes full circle he can match a knight of the round. that is orange.
