I have already slain a few bosses and didn't know this. I should have suspected something was up when one of them just disappeared while i was fighting a golden knight 💀

the most important thing is: explore, explore and explore once more, it will make bosses easier, and there are some game of the decade level beautiful things around
Yeah 1:37:40 "What's the point?" I kinda died inside, not gonna lie 😂. The world is incredible and the smaller dungeons are amazing and worth exploring for sure. I'm glad he switched it up.
Honestly a very fun boss. Started a new main game before DLC and it was rough after not playing for so long. Jumping straight into the DLC after not playing maingame for years can be difficult
I’d recommend that if you want to survive more than two hits, you ought to take of Radagon’s soreseal/scarseal because it increases the damage you take, then put on either the dragoncrest greatshield which will significantly improve your physical defense, or the Great Jar Arsenal which would allow you to wear heavier/stronger armor. But anyways, amazing to see you play the DLC!! I first watched your Elden Ring playthrough and have watched nearly every series you’ve done since, I hope you enjoy this DLC, out of all the Souls DLCs, this one is by far my favorite, so good luck! :)
I didn't watch any other Shadow of the Erdtree gameplay just so I could get the full first experience here. FromSoft rarely misses with DLC, so I can't wait to see what they've cooked up with this one. Let's go!
They trained us like we are dogs. If i see a chest imeadiatly think its a mimic. If i see an item easy to get imeadiatly think theres an enemy right in the corner. Theres an enemy bending their ass to you, you better think that someone will appear from behind and shove a spear in your ass.
You can buy a lantern from the merchant in the southwest side of the Weeping Peninsula; it's bright enough for most dark areas so you can avoid dedicating a weapon slot for a torch.
The best open world map design ive ever experienced. It is not even close. The layers, the way things intertwine and i still have like half to explore.

Hey man, dunno if my comment is late or anything, but I haven't seen anyone else mention it, so I thought I should. One of the bigger reasons that you're taking SO much damage is the soreseal talisman that you have equipped, it really reduces your damage negation stats. and at level ~150 or more, especially for the dlc and how they work, those defense reductions are really not worth the trade, its better for lower level play. you would be much more resilient and survive much more encounters if your physical defense were higher, so equip the dragon defense talisman. or takers cameo for that extra healing that keeps you going when exploring the map. also, final tip. equip morgot's rune, consume a rune arc and be amazed at how much harder it is for them to kill you. Truth. They're not called the "Newb-Trap" Talismans without reason. Totally worth it early on. Definitely NOT later. Erdtree's Favor is the same way, to a lesser extent.

@matiasgago I'm on ng+++ so I am getting my arse handed to me with some of the strong regular enemies and I have let the occasional profanity out... btw that's some poor luck encountering scorpions so soon 😂😂 Try exploring to the south west of the 2nd Miquella rune before the 1st set of stairs just after the giant arch leading to Belurat, and also south of the first grace you arrived at in the small forest/woods and beyond 👍👍
I don't know if you eventually figure it out but you need to enable the "mark new items" and "show recent items tab" options in the system settings in order to actually get them. It's actually the first sentence in the tooltip at 3:51 but most people miss it.

You're missing two flask potency upgrades (sacred tears) so you'll definitely want to go back to the base game to get those. All sacred tears are found in church locations.

Also mati, i saw u level up the greatsword of solitude to +10 but they're a limited amount of max dragon stones, both smithing and somber so I would suggest not leveling up any more all the way unless you like it/fits with you build. Save a max somber dragon stone for a certain spear from a certain impaler... 😉

No shame in using mimic to beat these dlc bosses if it comes down to it, they’re incredibly tough! I feel like they’re worth giving a try without summons to begin with, but if you’re hitting a brick wall and it’s becoming unfun, no shame in it tbh. It seems a lot of these bosses were designed with summons in mind, they are very hard to do without spending hours and hours on each boss. Anyway, excited to see more and hope you have a great time with the dlc!
Ah, Mati back in Elden Ring. Just feels right. I was lucky and stumbled on your channel when that first episode dropped. Pure luck. Been here since as I love your attitude and perseverance and personality! You'll get lots of advice so I'll keep mine simple. The game is telling you things. Miyazaki was specific about how important the blessings are. And it's throwing cookbooks at you left right and centre. So. Look to defence buffs. Look to consumables. Adjust your physik and use it more. If you fancy trying new things, try a shield. But it's the defensive buffs that will carry you on. That includes talismans. And I've found two already that seem to be designed with specific bosses in mind. Have a blast dude. I've only been in a short while and.. I've seen such sights... 😂
You might want to unequip that soreseal. While it gives you stat boost it also increase the damage you take and in the dlc it is already high as you felt it.
Hey Mati... nice vid thanks for your work. I did get the impression you were in a rush to progress and get pass the boss compared to your original Elden Ring playthrough when you solo'd the bosses.. I love to the pain of dying over and over again and then the eventual elation of doing it solo... just remember, if you hit a wall, like Margit in the base game, go do some exploring for some scad frags. The bosses are very challenging but fair.. just gotta learn dem patterns and when to attack. And remember not to panic roll/attack... it's a rhythm game time those rolls and attacks, you can queue one move at a time while in the middle of one.
AHHH. I was counting down until you uploaded this! I thought I went into this a bit over-leveled, and BOY was I wrong lmfao. Also edit to add: I noticed you missed killing one of those black ghostly people at 18:30-ish. You want to make sure you snipe the ones carrying a sparkling pot above their heads first (they're so easy to miss.) They drop something important!
trick to defeating big fire boy : hit him till he staggers when he staggers and falls to ground one riposte will takelike 70 -80 % of his health you will not make good damage to his leg no matter how much you level up

Fun fact: the worm's "hair" attack is actually it puking its digestive system onto you. Several real-world oceanic creatures do this as well.

I've seen a lot of complaints in the community about the DLC boss designs being unfair, but I truly just don't see it (except the final boss though lol). I think these are some if the most interesting and well-designed bosses they've ever made. Excited for you to experience them

hah he was definitely the most epic and visually pleasing boss ever, but hot damn is he a mess to fight. with the chicken posture cant even go through him 😂
Also mati, i saw u level up the greatsword of solitude to +10 but they're a limited amount of max dragon stones, both smithing and somber so I would suggest not leveling up any more all the way unless you like it/fits with you build. Save a max somber dragon stone for a certain spear from a certain impaler... 😉

I’ve been playing through it recently too and there are some parts I’m so excited for you to see, I think you’re really gonna like this dlc as a whole
No shame in using mimic to beat these dlc bosses if it comes down to it, they’re incredibly tough! I feel like they’re worth giving a try without summons to begin with, but if you’re hitting a brick wall and it’s becoming unfun, no shame in it tbh. It seems a lot of these bosses were designed with summons in mind, they are very hard to do without spending hours and hours on each boss. Anyway, excited to see more and hope you have a great time with the dlc!

Ah, Mati back in Elden Ring. Just feels right. I was lucky and stumbled on your channel when that first episode dropped. Pure luck. Been here since as I love your attitude and perseverance and personality!
You'll get lots of advice so I'll keep mine simple. The game is telling you things. Miyazaki was specific about how important the blessings are. And it's throwing cookbooks at you left right and centre.
So.
Look to defence buffs. Look to consumables. Adjust your physik and use it more. If you fancy trying new things, try a shield. But it's the defensive buffs that will carry you on.
That includes talismans. And I've found two already that seem to be designed with specific bosses in mind.
Have a blast dude. I've only been in a short while and.. I've seen such sights... 😂

You might want to unequip that soreseal. While it gives you stat boost it also increase the damage you take and in the dlc it is already high as you felt it.

I did get the impression you were in a rush to progress and get pass the boss compared to your original Elden Ring playthrough when you solo'd the bosses.. I love to the pain of dying over and over again and then the eventual elation of doing it solo... just remember, if you hit a wall, like Margit in the base game, go do some exploring for some scad frags.
The bosses are very challenging but fair.. just gotta learn dem patterns and when to attack.
And remember not to panic roll/attack... it's a rhythm game time those rolls and attacks, you can queue one move at a time while in the middle of one.

Also edit to add: I noticed you missed killing one of those black ghostly people at 18:30-ish. You want to make sure you snipe the ones carrying a sparkling pot above their heads first (they're so easy to miss.) They drop something important!
trick to defeating big fire boy : hit him till he staggers when he staggers and falls to ground one riposte will takelike 70 -80 % of his health you will not make good damage to his leg no matter how much you level up
