This video prompted me to boot up Alpha 3 on the 30th Anniversary Collection to play as Dan, which then revealed that Max missed the greatest super Dan has ever had: The Mythical Taunt. If he did the reverse of the Super Taunt (i.e. QCBx2+Taunt) with a Level 3 gauge, Dan would have been put into a mode where... EVERY SINGLE BUTTON DOES A TAUNT!!!!!!! If only Max knew of that, his mind would have been blown.

My favourite SF compilation isn’t 30th Anniversary, it’s Alpha Anthology because it has Alpha 2 Gold and Alpha 3 Upper. My only gripe is that Alpha 3 Max has never been on home console. That’s the definitive version and it’s on the damn PSP!
Like how Maxi talks about how ISMs change the gameplay of the characters. V-ISM was weird, but my favorite on Non-Shotos like Birdie/Guy/and Rolento. Alpha 3 was where I learned that Ryu was not a one trick pony. I spent sooo many quarters in the arcade just to master him. Xism Ryu was Fire Ball Low Spam until Someone messed up and then Super in his face( Boring). Vism Ryu was Hadouken Feinting Jerk. AISM tho.... My jam. The hop kick he gets turned him into a Rushdown powerhouse; Alpha Counter into Fierce Fireball or Forward Mid Punch into Fierce Shoryuken. I hated the Shinkuhadouken Super, but it was necessary for Mid Range Gods like Sagat. I learned how to be patient and learn pixel perfect spacing for the Shin Shoryuken. On Counter it was a fun way to win a few tourneys.
I had a feeling this would be a rough one for the Dan Legacy. Alpha 3 has some of the worst "you're not allowed to enjoy yourself" fighting game AI in the series, second only to Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo at 8 stars.

While I didnt plat Alpha 3 back then for me what makes Alpha 3 important is that it was game that introduced Karin. I like rush down characters and she is also character that inspired Lili from Tekken.
This is the game that got me into the sf series 2 months ago. I've always been interested in sf for a while but never got a kick out of their games. As I slowly got more experienced with other fighters last year (guilty gear, king of fighters, samurai shodown, blazblue) I thought I would give the series another chance. 0:43 ...and yet it hasn't been released anywhere other than the PSP! This is blasphemy!
It's on VITA too, which is even more forgotten.
"Punch the shit out of her!!" 21:36
Max's neighbours... "Hello, 911?"
24:27 😂😂😂 to this day it still boggles the mind how they can make the AI throw you to death, but when you try to do it you only get like 2 hits. 🤔 maybe I was using the wrong controller...
No, it's the BS arcade A.I. I wouldn't fault you for anything.
Maki needs to come back at some point.
She’s my favorite.
Leaks suggest shes coming to SF V
Leaks suggest shes coming to SF V
@@Ramza30 Whg did you wrote it twice tho
Leaks suggest shes coming to SF V
Dan is the embodiment of the phrase "Talk shit, get hit".
Ahhhh SFA3. My favorite street fighter game for the game modes on the Dreamcast. Yet some of the AI fights are complete nonsense
Me and my cousins used to play the hell out of this game back in the PS1 era, we even purchased again on the Dreamcast good old days.
21:20 Max is officialy salty and screwing around lmao
I actually like alpha 3 max. Then I realize I played Ryu on my playthroughs!
Blows that no one's found that cheat to play as Max yet.
10:51 mystically dodging.
12:35 Gui-le input reading hooker.
24:26 Holy God!
😂
"That's not Sean Cody..."
Y'all wanna tell him or should I?
I had to do a double take on that one.
That'a not what I think it means right?
I just saw look it up and....oh my haha
Well he’ll get a eye full if he looks it up🤣🤣🤣🤣
For me, this is the best Street Fighter game ever, with all that modes, the characters plus that dynamic gameplay!
Yea... it definitely sucks On the PS4 I bought the legacy collection thinking it would be like that and🤦🏿♂️ it sucks ASSSSS what a shame capcom.
best home conversion for sure.
when you see SF5 i wanna cry kkk
Dan is from Hong Kong. His surname Hibiki indicares he is ethnically Japanese. So a Japanese man born and raised in Hong Kong if youre really wondering Max
Dan being Chinese does kinda fit his image of being the "Cheap Knockoff" of Ryu
He's a cheap knock off of Ryo though lol
@@BearWith_You well if you want to get real nitpicky he's a parody of the whole art of fighting team including yuri, who would go on to become a pseudo rule 63 dan herself, borrowing elements from all the shotos.
Until Ultra Street Fighter IV in 2014, Alpha 3 MAX had THE largest roster in all of Street Fighter
7:14 SNK reference. Nice!
Street Fighter Alpha 3 is one of my favorite games in the franchise. This was my intro to Sakura who's one of my favorites but man Bison in this game was cheap.
Agree! Especially if he has full Super Bar! That Super Psycho Crusher trying block it is a nightmare. Shit takes almost half-health. It can come outta nowhere.
Input reading bullshit is what it was.
Max: Sagat's walk speed is stupid.
Sagat: I'm the Backwards Man, the Backwards Man. I can walk backwards, fast as you can.
Remember playing this on my psp. The only street fighter game where eagle makes a playable appearance. Although Dan is my number 1 pick for season 5, i'd love to see eagle as well as dudley (although i didnt play eagle in this game, mainly akuma)
Harrison B there is capcom vs snk 2 for eagle at least
Eagle was playable in the gba version as well.
Except... Eagle comes from the FIRST Street Fighter, so this is his second appearance in the series.
Dude clearly mentioned this was Eagle's first and only playable appearance in a Street Fighter game.
He first appeared on the original Street Fighter... But wasn't playable.
He appeared on CvS 2, but that isn't a Street Fighter game.
You guys aren't wrong, but that's not what the original comment meant. He is factually correct.
I have a mighty need for Eagle to be part of SFV's final season of new characters!
Been being fucked by Gen as my 7th opponent on my first playthrough playing Ryu...glad to see the CPU is indeed as fucked as I felt it was and it's not just me being a noob.
Sakura's so dang cute in this game.
Also, her calves are stupid big
Sakura is always adorable
If only the 30th anniversary collection version of Alpha 3 was based on Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX/Street Fighter Zero 3↑↑. If only...
Max needs to play Art of Fighting 2. Then he'll know what a truly infuriating AI is.
I think he has, he played it while playing some SNK games that were free from Amazon Prime, or something like that.
Takuma beat the crap out of him.
How about ALL the SNK fighting games??? They should not be that difficult. I've beaten only one and that's Waku Waku 7.
Yes, Hibiki is the most American last name ever!!! lol
This is why both collection's are not worth it for me
24:25: I. Was. In. Tears. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Same😆😂😂😂😂
24:25 I have never seen so much damage done out of pummeling.
Omg its Dan i really want him to be on SFV i bet the v triggers are going to be cool in many ways( or funny )
I used to play this a metric ton on my PSP. I don't remember the computer being so aggressive...
Street fighter alpha 3 for the ps1 was my very first street fighter game ever I'm glad to see this game again
I had a feeling this would be a rough one for the Dan Legacy. Alpha 3 has some of the worst "you're not allowed to enjoy yourself" fighting game AI in the series, second only to Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo at 8 stars.
I remember having this game for PSP when i was younger and i knew noithing about FGs in general, i always lost to the CPU and it took me hours just to beat arcade mode to the lowest difficulty but i remember clearly that the first time ever i beat the Arcade mode in this game was with Dan
Oh god Alpha 3 MAX's AI is the one thing that keeps me from loving it. I want to play it so much all the time, but the AI drives me to tears even on 1 star and it's just not worth it.
I used to think I sucked at fighting games. Turns out it was just cheap AI. At least Tekken had fair AI
Wait so I'm actually decent as cody? Who knew
@J. Benjamin Johnson Cheap AI gets stomped with trash strats. Has nothing to do with being good. People that do well in single player content are usually absolute trash against actual players.
@@Slappaccino Actual players on the same level?
I remember playing this on Dreamcast! Memories!!!!
It's super weird seeing the HD Yun sprite vs the Alpha sprite of Dan
We've reached the big boy in this Legacy! Alpha 3! My favorite entry to watch!
Karins theme is the best! Memories coming back to when playing this on PS1 with my friends and we paused on her stage just to hear the music...
Dan Legacy? More like DAMN Legacy. Amirite?
Bonus Fact: In the Street Fighter Alpha Anime Movie, his first ENG VA made his debut. Bob Papenbrook was his name and personal fun fact, he’s my voice acting idol of the early 2000s. Shame he passed away, but his works are so memorable for me still.
Oh wow I didn't know that.Thats a cool fact
If memory serves, he's also the father of Bryce Papenbrook.
Cartoonguy133 That’s correct!
Bonus Fun Fact! Both Bob & Bryce Papenbrook did work together in the voice industry in a Forgotten Square Enix JRPG known as Radiata Stories.
Always bring that Hype Dan music 🎶
While I didnt plat Alpha 3 back then for me what makes Alpha 3 important is that it was game that introduced Karin. I like rush down characters and she is also character that inspired Lili from Tekken.
I saw Max's Livestream we're he play CVS Pro, CVS2 & MVC2 for the Dan Legacy. He also played Power Rangers
We are getting closer to 3 dan team in mvc2
This is the game that got me into the sf series 2 months ago. I've always been interested in sf for a while but never got a kick out of their games. As I slowly got more experienced with other fighters last year (guilty gear, king of fighters, samurai shodown, blazblue) I thought I would give the series another chance. This game is fun in ways though the CPU piss me off sometimes. I even found myself another main other than Ryu/Sakura, Ingrid (I wonder how many people are gonna hate me for that).
the sequence from 10:56 onward with guile i feel your pain max
Damn so much nostalgia lol. I used to play this a ton on my psp and it was actually the first street fighter game I ever played!
27:47 That would be hilarious, Dan is telling Sagat all that stuff but he's just dead. Dan killed him
No one is surprised, especially considering that Dan then proceeded to kill Bison in cold blood and stole his base
Most sprites from Street Fighter Alpha 3 were later used in the Marvel vs Capcom & Capcom vs SNK games. The sprites for Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Bison & Akuma all changed in the Capcom vs SNK games
too bad they dont change all of them, especially Morrigan
@@juarezamorim Morrigan isn't from Street Fighter. She is from Darkstalkers.
I remember playing this on Dreamcast! Game like Street Fighter Alpha 3. Will turn you into a monster! Where I lived it, we never had Alpha 3 arcade cabinet. but I agree Dan was the hardest character to play with in this game. Right next to DJ.
