    Really interesting to hear a bit about Polish WW2 history and Poland in general; clearly and rightly so Ewa loves her homeland. Also when presenting together each of you complement the other in a seamless way.
    Overall the channel is a superb entertaining mix of biking, history, food, camping, people and of course your priceless humour! 😂🥸
    Looking forward to seeing and hearing more about Poland …..and wherever else your travels take you both.

    Hi Rich & Eva,
    Loving the Polish tour section (and the other Countries), the roads in Poland seem to have improved a lot since I had to hire a car from the Baltic coast back to Warsaw some 30 years ago whilst on a business trip - a whiteknuckle ride then😮.
    Lovely Country and people, lots of history albeit somewhat tragic - now retired, I'd love to do a tour on the Tiger 90GT.
    Take care & ride safe.

    I understand The Wolfs Lair might not be to everyone’s taste but I think it’s important places like this are preserved for historical purposes. Loved this video, I’m definitely going back to Poland next year, so civilised, just like the Baltic countries.

    Just watching this vlog now and have to say I'm a huge fan of Google maps navigation. I would never fix my smart phone to the handle bars so I bought a quadlock and a relatively cheap new older model Samsung smart phone. Downloaded via WiFi Google maps (certain areas) to use offline but also bought a £3.99 data only sim card (payg) with 24gb on from argos. This data lasts for 12months. So I have live update Google.maps on my bike that uses tiny amounts of data. I also coated the mic,speaker and USB port with a dose of acf50 just incase of a rain shower. Haven't had to top up the data on the sim yet. It'll last me the entire year of riding! £65 for phone plus the quadlock - beats the tom tom or garmin ANYDAY! And far more reliable! Try it on some of your trips. BTW great tour of Poland and everywhere else guys. Loving it!🏍👍

    • @ontheroadadventure
      @ontheroadadventure  หลายเดือนก่อน

      This sounds like a good idea but perhaps add a waterproof case? What happens if you ride into a area of no signal?

    • @naughtycoolsailor1240
      @naughtycoolsailor1240 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ontheroadadventure I could not find a suitable phone case for the phone I bought (Samsung AO3 Core) as its rather an old model. So I bought the universal quadlock mount that had to stuck directly to the back of the phone. No problems at all with it. But yes, if you were to spend a bit more than £65 on a smart phone model then you'd probably be able to buy a quadlock case for it. However to keep my cheapy brilliant GPS navigation system running nice and smooth, I do not let any other apps run on it. It's purely a navigation system. Never had any issues as of yet with destinations. Worth a try. I don't know how you guys have stuck at it with the garmin! You're so brave! Lol

You can navigate routes on the phone using a (paid) 3rd party software, but it's hard to see the screen in the sunlight, not all gloves work on it and as you say, a dedicated phone is preferred, as I wouldn't feel comfortable to put my phone on the bar.

    (12:29) family history, tells me, that my great grandfather was a pilot during the war. and his plane and crew were spared, by a Red tail Pilot, and were able to crash land. (He was just a young Lad). By saving him, I guess, I would not be here. (I visited the Red Tail Museum in Alabama. Tuskegee Airmen institute national historic site) (out of respect). 20 years back. I was working with another builder, and we built tri-plex units (town houses) as a 55 and older. as people were moving in. I saw the tattoos on the people's wrists. (and learned the Horror, of the camps) It change my way of thinking, about the German side of my family. (Mom, would also tell people, we were from Irland) But her father's family were from Germany. I'm thinking my they would be turning over in the graves, as I married, a little Jewish girl.

    As far as the Satnav goes, there is one problem with navigating only by your mobile phone. You need internet to work with Google Maps. Inside Europe should be easy (if you are European at all...) but the would be man countries you'll have to buy extra Telephon cards. The Garmin operates by GPS which you'll find in every country.
    Or you have to download the Google Maps cards, but that would be less flexible.
