Girl I feel you on the "wake up, shake, go factor" it is AHHHHMAZING and so freeing! I am 13 months in 11/9 and can't wait to see where it goes from here!
Your locs have flourished! I can not wait until I’m a year in. Thank you because I was thinking of locs and when you posted that you had loc’d yours, I knew it was time for me to. I waited until after my sister’s wedding back in July and I did it! Best decision ever!
Your locs look amazing ! I Loc’d my hair 10/15/20. 2 years in and it has been an Amazing journey! I finally after locking my hair, love it Everyday! Shake and go everyday when I wake up. Love it! Best Best Best hair decision Ever!!!❤
thick locs are great, but they're gonna be much fewer - unless you're okay with that. i do wonder if the amount of styling and twisting - including protective styles - might be what is keeping them thinner than you like...
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. You and a couple other creators have inspired me to get locs and I’m waiting for my appointment in December 😌🤍 please keep sharing your journey, we love it!
I personally love your hair the way it is however it’s your crown and since you expressed you want thicker locks, I’ll say go for it. BTW your hair is everything and I love it!! You’re so inspiring ✨💛🌻
Like you, I love(d) to change my hair ALOT.... I started my loc journey in October 2021 and have purposely avoided any styles that either compress my maturing locs (i.e. adding extension hair) or that stretch my locs (pony tails, buns etc) I have pretty much avoided all styling. I have fine hair, and keeping my locs as thick as possible has been number 1 priority for me during this baby/developing stage of my loc journey. I have also avoided retwisting too often or too tightly, I retwist approximately every 2/3 months and very lightly palm roll - but not down the full length of the loc so they stay fluffy and not compressed. Your locs look beautiful, but I think the retwist might be too tight for the type of locs you want to have. Your protective styles look beautiful but installing these on your hair type (which looks similar to mine, quite soft, fluffy and fine 4c texture with 4a and 4b mixed textures in some areas) might be too much for your strands until your hair has fully matured around 2/3 years time. I am about to combine 8 locs into 4 in the back at my nape because the base is going to be too thin to support the shed hair weight in the loc so I think they'll pop off in a few years time. I have done all of my retwists myself even though my mum was happy to do it for me, but I know she would have gone HAM with the palm rolling and that is what I absolutely wanted to avoid overdoing so they hopefully stayed thick - which they have so far 🤞🏾 despite my normal hair density being low/medium and my strands being fine. This is one of the styles that has benefited from my crazy high shedding 🤣. I started with 99 x comb coils, currently have less because I combined some in the early days (no regrets, they were too thin). Also, try to avoid bleaching them for a while at least until they are mature. The process to lift your hair colour might be harder than usual because you have black dye in your hair. You may also have some strands of dark extension hair embedded within the loc.
Thanks so much for the advise! Since this video I've seen a lot of changes in my locs, again and I'm really being to love the size of them now. But I'll talk more about it soon 🫶🏾
same I 100% did what u have in regards to no styling and stretching and if my hair couldn't fit in a bun, I wouldn't force it to avoid manipulation and compression. n so far its going well.
So glad your back. You have been missed. I couldn’t agree more locing my hair has been the best decision I’ve ever made and I should have done it many years ago. 12/31, I will be a year in. Like you said it is definitely a journey and watching the transitions are absolutely amazing and patience is everything! I have the same thing with my locs the front……….well I would say my perimeter my locs are smaller than the rest, but I really don’t care. I think I’m going to give them some time to see how they are going to change, if any. I think you should do the same. Wait like you said and then if they haven’t changed to your liking then combine them. As far as color. I love your hair in any color. You choose beautiful colors and they all look amazing on you! Thanks for sharing and congrats on your new home! Looking forward to upcoming content! Welcome back and glad your back!😉☺️
I just started my loc journey and I’m excited I just want them think now… they are short but I want the short and thick. Lol I guess I need to wait😊 thanks for sharing
You are so beautiful🥰🥰 …I love to color my hair and do different styles all the time and this Encourages me I can still be versatile and have my locs I just started locs about 3 weeks ago and I’m so excited for this journey
i noticed you started with coils. I’m not sure if you already know but coiled locs usually stay smaller and uniform while starting with two strand twist basically ensures they’ll swell up and be closer to part size.
Here I am thinking I should have started with coils. I couldn’t understand how the coils would stay together for me. My 4c hair might be fine but I have some 4b sections and even with 2 strand twists the hair slipped out of the loc. That was when I decided to interlock the new growth. I swam in Mexico this summer because I was not worried about my hair. My locs gave me so much freedom. I think interlocking limits how thick your locs will get. No complaints- just sharing observations.❤️
Congratulations! One year and a lot of length! How often do you re twist your locs? Some say that re twisting too often will make your locs thin. I interlock and have adjusted how tightly I pull my loc through itself so I don’t make the interlock too tight or small. Remember if you join 2 locs the weight of the combined locks can become too heavy for the hair and cause the bigger joined loc to thin and break. Your locs look really beautiful. The front ones do not look much thinner than the rest of your locs IMHO.
Thick locs are really hard to retwist i am gonna be honest i have starter locs and my locs are so thick its kinda giving Some problems I like them and alot of poeple really want thic locs but Idk its a little bit of a pain in thé ass cause i know my locs are gonna be a suprise and idk if They Will look the way i wAnt 5 months in consodering restarting
I wanted medium/larger locs. I got about 60 but that is with some large parting. I just reached 6 months and baby it's a visual struggle for me. However, you give me hope.

I've thought about that also 😩 but I don't want them SUPER THICK. just slightly thicker than they already are.
@@joynavon lets not combine then lol, coz they really are along nicely
@@joynavon how many locs do you have?
That is it, the more you manipulate them, the thinner they are...
