The 4 music videos for Hypeboy (Minji, Hyein, Hanni, Danielle & Haerin) were all made to introduce the members, before those MVs were released, no one actually knew their names until later. Basically, they revealed the members and their names through those 4 music videos. :)

New Jeans totally surprised me, their music and the vocals are just my vibe... i heard their music 2 days ago and I've been streaming their music all time since then.

The R&B undertones and lack of “noise” in their music is a GODSEND. They’re literally such a breath of fresh air. I’ve gotta thank HYBE once again for blessing me with this group. Idc if they’re young, they’re talented and have every right to follow their dreams now and not waste their time.

@@friya196 actually not at all, even the own koreans has been saying that they were a refresh in kpop because basically most fo the groups out there haven't this style...after NJ others like XG and maybe Triple S (if they are still out there) are approaching these vibes, but not that many kpop groups

Children are pure and live their lives harder than anyone else. They look younger because they don't dye and put on heavy makeup, but they are about the same age as any other idol. If your birthday is not over in Korean age, you should be +2 years old. When I look at Newjeans' own contents, it's so cute and I smile like a mother all the whole time I look at it.

OMG I was just thinking the same thing about their hair! Never seen a group debut with natural healthy luscious waist high hair ALL OF THEM! And their choreos utilized so much aspect of the hair from flips, turns, tossing them with their hands, etc. And their hair looks just so beautiful!!! I was just thinking that I hope they don't dye them and damage them anytime soon as it could be part of their identity! Super rookie for sure I just love this group on EVERYTHING!
There’s no specific order to the Hypeboy MVs - you’ll notice them referencing each other (like in one video, some of the girls are recording themselves singing the first verse and in another video other girls are watching that recording) but nothing major.
Each one tells a short like love/crush story and I honestly think it’s really compelling how they handle the unique endings and stories - each one feels different - so I recommend all of them.
There is no order, however the girls themselves did mention that they disappear at the end of Danielle and Haerin's version, which makes it look like the real ending

YOU guys might not be saying they shouldn’t NOT be in the industry but I’ve read 1 too many tweets that have explicitly said exactly that and it’s been pissing me off tbh. Bc women of all ages should be fearful of being manipulated/assaulted (esp by older men) yet we all still go outside, live our lives, and follow our dreams. These girls should also be able to do so, despite the dangers we all know exist (and never go away, regardless of their age).

i feel like the creative director of ador label, who also made this group is what makes this gg stand out. the guerilla marketing, the shadow drop, the whole creativity behind the image of NJ made this a very unique debut. Nmixx would've had the same success if it weren't for JYP sticking to the old formula.

I was listening to your reaction while working and istg I was so invested in your conversation after the MV that I almost forgot I was working.
there are four different versions of hybe boy, so four different music videos. one focused on minji, one on hanni, one on hyein, and then one focused on dani and haerin together.
The first thing I thought of when I seen their hair was Naeun from aPink, she rarely, if ever, dyed her hair and it looked exactly like how these girls have their hair styled. I hope they keep this style for a while longer, it just all looks so … natural, I definitely love for THAT to be a style they bring into kpop.
Please listen to Hurt as well! A lot more mellow than the rest of the songs in the album but it's gorgeous

Regarding "Cookie," Korean lyric is just so cute and the most Korean listeners are not uncomfortable at all. However, the English lyric is not the one that has been exactly translated. In the process of translating, various factors might have been taken into consideration for rhyme, musical feelings, etc., and it seems that a factor that brings a kind of ambivalent feeling was also added. In that sense, I think it is good that the little girls sing Cookie in Korean, not in English, so every one can enjoy it as a really good song with the fantastic voices and choreos just except for the controversial English lyric.

I understand that you are worried about debuting at a young age. But they have the hardest time getting longer as trainees.
If it is a well-equipped practice system of a large agency, it is enough for the trainee life not to be long.
Anyway, they want to be singers and idols. Some people call it an exploitation of the k-pop system, but they don't think about how old their country's child actors are.
I have reservations still about their age and everything, just because in general I want to big fat NO to that. BUT - they've debuted. They're here. And they are so good. The vibes and the quality level of their vocals remind me of what I love about Red Velvet at times. Just high quality vocals with R&B inspiration and good vibes. Right? So As you said, you just like HAVE to give them their respect for their talent. And I do like the idea that (as long as their concept and content doesn't get too.... mature for their ages) girls their age and young girls can have a group that feels like it's for THEM and that they can enjoy in that kind of way. Like if hopefully we as fans can hold those promoting them accountable if they start going down a road that seems like a really bad one. EXACTLY. I love how FRESH their styling is, it's not even this overly cutesy "I'm so young and cute" type of vibes that younger groups get sometimes. Very elevated girl next door relatable girl which is just aweeesome.

Rap parts are often reserved for those who either only excell at dancing or have a pretty face and nothing else. Visuals is the most important part nowadays and girl groups often debut like a bunch of unripe avocados in terms of performance.
There are still unicorns like Soyeon but the majority are "filler" rappers.
