    This is my favorite video. We keep our boat in Doctors Lake Marina. We cruised through downtown JAX many times and see dolphins almost every time. Keep on cruising!!

      Oh cool! Small world 😁 I (Elliot) lived off Doctors Lake since junior high - lots of memories there!

      The St. Johns and this portion of the ICW is very pretty, we are looking forward to seeing it again!

    11 bridges is a lot of bridges. So many cool things to see! I think I like city skylines as much as nature.

      We definitely agree... there are wonderful aspects of both!

    That’s a lot of bridges for one day. You looked like you were very calm and old pros at doing this. I’ve been under tons of bridges but they still make me a bit anxious. Intellectually my brain can know that there is way more clearance than my sailboat needs. But from my eyes’ perspective, the mast LOOKS like it will hit the bridge.

      Haha fortunately our air draft is only 18ft, so even though this was our first time it’s nothing like a 50-60 ft mast 😁 it definitely seems nerve wracking! Thanks for watching Jim!

    I've just started following you. We hope to start the Loop in early 2024. Love that you are doing this without a lot of boating experience and learning along the way. That will surely be our style!

    New to your videos. So far so good. I like seeing all your trials. I now retired, and considering doing the same. My problem is it would be single handed. Still thinking about it, but getting some inspiration from you guys. Enjoy your journeys.

      Thanks for watching Rick! You can do it single handed, we've met quite a few that have the loop that way. It is definitely harder but just takes a bit more care and experience with the boat. But experience can always be earned 😁

    What month of the year did you start your loop?

    • @SchoandJo
      @SchoandJo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Our 2021 attempt (this video) kicked off from Fernandina April 7th and our 2022 loop kicked off from Key West on March 2nd.

    What app do you use for winds and tides?

    • @SchoandJo
      @SchoandJo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We use an app called "tides" which works well since it has an Apple Watch App, so we can check it at a glance. For wind we use Navionics and PredictWind. Navionics for quick checks and PredictWind for more important checks.
