We have done the same thing. Long day of cruising does drain you with all that you have to contend with and that's when that frozen pizza tastes wonderful.
Charleston is a great city. So many great restaurants and one of my favorites is just across from where you are docked. It is called California Dreaming and the food is fantastic!
When you guys come into a docking situation port or starboard you should come in bow first an attach a line to a cleat on the dock then turn your wheel towards the dock and bump your reverse gear in an out and it will walk the stern right in along the dock. It works the same with leaving a dock. Loop your bow line through a cleat on the dock turn your wheel away from the dock and bump reverse in an out until your stern is clear and release the tag end of the dock line and pull it in while continuing to reverse out.👍
Found this episode while searching for some Charleston to Savannah sailing videos. (planning our next adventure -- ICW from Charleston to Savannah) Enjoyed your trip...thanks for the insights!
@@SchoandJo my pleasure! I'm looking at a 38' 1970 Chris Craft Commander Sedan to do the loop with my Old English Sheepdog. I'm getting lots of great advice from watching your channel! Thanks for letting us tag along on your adventures! No offense, Elliott, but I'll skip the whole breaking of the wrist thing 😁
I just discovered your channel and love what you're doing. We live in Charleston and have a 44' Tollycraft. Have done this route many times. I have to compliment both of you on your communication with each other. Outstanding!
Hey guys. New subscriber and new to boat life so this part of your life resonates with me immensely. And coincidentally I'm hoping to transfer to Jacksonville for my job and live on a boat. Hopefully. Question: are you guys working remotely?
@@SchoandJo The Baltimore show was small, with corresponding smaller crowds. Loved several of the Krogen, and drooled over the Fleming (all are costly new). Lots of lectures and everyone was happy to discuss why decisions were made to design/build in very different ways. I plan to attend others as we get closer to pulling the trigger. Retirement by 2023!
Glad to see you had a safe trip through the low tide and narrow channels topping it all off with the soft landing at the dock . Is that a freezer chest I'm seeing below ?
Thanks Neil! That’s an awesome plan, just around the corner. Do you have much of the journey planned out? Are you going to take it slow or try and complete it in a year?
@@SchoandJo Just dreaming now...Paying off debt so that we have zero at launch time. We will probably take longer than one year...but like you guys we have limited boating experience. Wifey has basically none, and I used to race sailboats as crew. BTW WHere are you guys now...heading down the Mississippi?
@@neilstagner1961 That’s a fantastic plan! We raced only a couple times in Melbourne when we had sailing lessons, it was a thrill! We are currently in the Chesapeake, a bit behind schedule but that’s alright! It’s the journey not the destination….
Wow, my wife and I were literally just talking about doing this trip except starting from Bluffton (about another hour or so of travel). We were going to be a bit ballsy with our 21ft pontoon but jusy stay in the inner water ways like you guys did, but still makes me nervous nonetheless! Which marina did you end up staying overnight at?

Great landing. Keeps getting better with practice.
Thanks Jeffrey! Each time we get a little better and we are always so thankful to have help

Thanks Harold! We appreciate you along for the ride
Really nice docking! 👍🏽
Way to go y’all! And how awesome for people to help y’all! Also, I LOVE frozen pizza 🍕
One of our guilty boat pleasures! And seriously the people we’ve met along this loop have been some of the kindest!

Yes--we listen to audio books. The Undomestic Goddess is good😎
Will have to take a look, thanks for the recommendation Rob!
You two are fantastic and an inspiration!
Aww thanks so much!
I love the Stephen Pressfield The War On Art series. Four books for motivation.
Thanks for the recommendation!

That is a great plan, 0/10 don’t recommend breaking a wrist, even if the helicopter ride was pretty cool 😁
@@SchoandJo legit, that's the only reason why I'd wanna break it!
Way to make it through a long day guys. The b-roll was amazing, even for that incredible frozen pizza 🍕
No matter the type of pizza still gotta show up 😂

Excellent videos guys ... enjoy watching them.
Thanks Joseph!
I highly recommend the "Through the Word" podcast. It will decide your eternity. Love your videos. Bon Voyage!
Sweet, thanks for the recommendation Jon!
In shallow water always look to your stern to see if your churning up mud.. of not your doing good
Really like'in your video's.

Just spent the day at Trawler Fest Baltimore, working on our next step. Great job with the vids, keep it up!
Oh that’s awesome John! We’ve never heard about Trawler Fest before, would you recommend going next time?

I take a frozen pizza and add lots of extra ingredients and extra cheese of course.
Definitely! Kinda getting hungry thinking about one right now. Thanks for watching Bill!
And google how to make pizza in a cast iron pan on the stovetop. Life changer for us!
Wow definitely will take a look!
Great video! What black and white navigation book is that that appears in the intro shots?
That was Captain Bob's guide to the Intracoastal Waterway 😁
Tuesday's with Morrie - Mitch Album
Thanks!

Anything by Berne Brown!
She is one of Jenn's favorite authors! Her new book comes out in November so we will be checking it out!
Audio book by Ellen G White. The Great Controversy. Fantastic read about the past and the future.

Frozen pizza can be pretty good... but not awesome cooked in a microwave.
Technically it is a convection microwave, so pretty much an oven! Although it only goes 400 deg, which is a bit low for Pizza.
nice life jackets. remember to wear your masks. are all lines clear? danger is everywhere. bahahaha
Definitely! Thanks for watching!
