Wonderful video and presentation! Attempting to teach the proper use of the right type of chart for the job is a difficult task. The idea of a chart telling a story is excellent. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've received 3D Pie charts with 20 or more data points. And then there's my favorite misused chart--and you missed this one--the radar chart. Thanks for the great video.

Thanks Joe! Creating and explaining charts can be tough. Ah, the radar chart. I'll add that one to the list for a future video. Great idea!

Excellent video. I need to see his video on how he created his bullet charts. I don't know how to create a bullet chart with a vertical like marker being the target value.

Ok there is NO wind noise in the background of your video but somehow your plant is shaking?! Lol

Thanks Stephanie! Haha, good eye! I have a very quiet ceiling fan. And the A/C might have kicked on while I was recording. Getting good audio is the most difficult part of video recording for me, so I'm happy to hear the mic isn't picking up too much background noise. 🙂

Hi I am new to dashboards I hope you can help. I am creating charts in excel from survey data. After lining up the charts into my dashboard I usually put a square shape over each chart with 90% transparency. It gives it a nice look. Unfortunately I cannot seem to get the shapes to either be the same size and when I use the align features it seems to work but then I see two or three shapes underneath. I can’t seem to get the chart and shape to be connected.
