- I have had quite a few requests to do a comparison video of these two compressors from Keeley.
I cannot suggest one over the other. I use both regularly for different situations.

That's why the GC-2 costs more because it sounds more natural and less tone coloring. Great demo man!
I love my Keeley 4 knob comp, it was the missing piece to my board for gigging. I've been super curious about the new GC-2 so I ordered one today and it's in the mail. After watching this I know I made a great choice. The tone just seems cleaner and unchanged even when smashed. I could never get along with compressors and I even broke down and bought the Ross grey which was good but so noisy I couldn't use it with any dirt pedals or channels. I think that's what has been drawing me to the GC-2 is the low noise floor and that was a major factor in the design.
Thanks for posting. This is the comparison I was looking for. Coming in, based on individual demos, I was leaning toward the Plus. After watching this, I think the GC will suit me better. As you said, two different flavors, both good.
Thanks for the video. Because volume has an effect on preference, it's really hard to draw a conclusion without matching the volume when going from one to the other. Great idea, though.
One is a Limiter the other is a Sustainer comp.
I like the Comp + at the start of the chain, and a Limiter near the end.
It's the blend knob that makes the plus model special
Both nice! Maybe leaning towards the Compressor Plus. Thank you sir!
Thanks for this 🙏
Very helpful. Thanks kindly.
GS-2!
Hello, which is the better one to get? GC2 sounds way quieter when not playing.
So would the GC-2 or the Plus be better for adding sustain at low amp volumes when playing at home? Cheers.
That would also be my question. The Limiting Amp sounds more quiet than the Compressor. I had this Compressor for a while and it was loud and added a huge boost. Than I bought the Cali76 and it also adds a huge boost but it’s more natural and makes less noise and it built like a tank. A good compressor is probably the best thing you can have on your board because it gives you the sustain and pop we hear on every famous recording. They all play through rack compressors in the studio which is actually usually added in post production but really makes acoustics pop especially with fingerpicking and evens out all of the notes. A good compressor with a TS-808 plus maybe a Klon style pedal with a good tube amp and you have an amazing tone. The TS808 imho adds a ton of sustain and really brings out pinch harmonics. The TS808 or TS9 never get credit for the huge amount of sustain they add and I don’t know why.
@@jordandangelo180 I tried the Keeley Plus and found it to be too noisy. Ended up with a Boss CP-1X. Cheers.

You should compare the plus with a boss cs3 since many people own one of those so they have a better idea of the compressor plus
Compressor plus definitely
+ all the way
Plus
Total fail. You need to turn each pedal on and off to hear how it changed, but you only did this once in the very beginning, of the video. Pointless..
