Doug, thanks for another great video! You've helped narrow down which cruise line to take; and things to do. All I have to do now is decide what date and the destination. Celebrity wins hands down!

We're on our second ever cruise in March 2023 on Edge. We're staying in an Infinite veranda concierge class, deck 11 and are very much looking forward to it!

I hope that you have a great time! Wonderful choice for sure! Make sure you are checking for all the different entertainment going on each evening! The Club and Eden both have great performances along with the main theater of course. If you have Celebrity Select dining, make sure you reserve nights in each of the dining rooms. If you have fixed dining make sure to speak with the dining staff on day one to confirm a chance to dine in each of the 4 main dining rooms. Thanks so much for sharing and for watching!

I was solo on the Edge Rome to Ft. Lauderdale in 2022. I had booked an Oceanview with a 0% single supplement and was very pleased to be upgraded to a full size infinite veranda. I was very happy with that cabin. I spent quite a few evenings at the martini bar for the live music. The four dining rooms however were the piece de resistance. I cycled through them like clockwork for two full weeks. Every dish was 100% on point.

That must have been amazing. I really do need to get back on an Edge Class. I loved putting this together and looking back at all of my personal footage. My first time the Martini bar was completely packed each night but I was able to grab seating on the sides. Thanks for sharing!

I sailed in a Solo IV cabin on the Ascent. It was wonderful. It could use some more storage

Do the Edge class ships have a casino? Also are there launderettes available for passenger use.

All Edge Class ships have large non-smoking casinos with all the popular table games and slots. Celebrity does not have self serve laundry facilities onboard. They do offer several laundry service options by bag or per item. Normally they offer a special discount one day during the cruise for a flat fee for one bag. If picked up in the morning you normally get it back late afternoon. Thanks for watching!

Can't share your enthusiasm about this class of ship as I dislike the ship within a ship concept. All it does it bring back class division in a ship. And it's quite disappointing that all Celebrity did with the added deck was make more room for suite passengers. This is basically Celebrity's version of NCL's Haven. So, while other ship classes in the area that occupies yet another specialty restaurant on the Beyond and newer Edge class ships have a nice observation lounge with activities and forward views out of windows Celebrity's non-suite passengers have to go to the solarium maybe for side views. I don't see that as innovation. I see it as class division.
I can't figure out why Celebrity needs to have shows in the theater and Eden and The Club. And the whole making a point of the Martini Bar, The Club and Eden being on different levels to me makes it a negative. I would love to see a true music lounge or two dedicated to its own atmosphere and style and ambiance and atmosphere rather than being in some open area. I guess The Club is its own style but it is still a club. And honestly, Eden has a garden theme but live plants first appeared on the Infinity. Then the Solstice class put in the Lawn Club area and its elevator bank small atrium have floating trees. And Eden's space isn't that dissimilar to Two70 so is it really that innovative?
I think the color palette in the suites and the whole style of them is very unimaginative compared to what's on Solstice. Everything is gray with one color punctuation and there's really nothing all that special about them compared to the regular cabins. They're just like larger versions of the regular cabins. Gray. And all the retreat spaces are gray and red and white , including the Luminae restaurant. I don't think the designers were their usual Celebrity bold on these ships at all. They follow the trendy neutrals with a muted color pop so that's why this ship and the NCL Prima look so similar. That one or the other isn't so identifiable as an NCL or Celebrity ship isn't a positive in my view. The best designs are where Celebrity is Celebritiy and is retro-modern and that's the Cosmopolitan and Normandie restaurants.
Sure the theater is great. For now. But HAL already has a somewhat similar theater on their Pinnacle class ships. The Garden Grill area, very nice.
I honestly think this class of ship lacks a lot. Where is the library? Card room? Where are lounges like RCI's Bolero or Celebrity's own Rendezvous or Ensemble lounge? Nothing on this ship is like HAL's Music Walk feating 3 different venues for music mingling, interacting with entertainers, dancing. And I've already said the observation lounge is missing. Ship staples throughout ships being built have been to put in meet and mingle and music spaces and dance venues and the Edge ships just don't't have enough. The NCL Prima actually has at least the Syd Norman's spot but they made it too small. They made the Improv club with the same issue. The Edge ships would maybe benefit with something like that just make the space large enough. Maybe get rid of the endless shops that few people use. It could also use a contrasting space like the pub that's on RCI and Cunard ships that's also good for music.
So, I can't agree that these ships are at the top of any premium category. They are new and novel now and how they stand up in 7 years or so when they aren't so fresh and classes of ships like Princess Sphere will be in service will be determined. For those that like them, enjoy them. But I feel differently about them. I love Celebrity and want to love these ships. But the more and more I see of them, the more incomplete they feel to me. Of course the service and food can be wonderful on Celebrity but that's a people/crew thing, not a ship thing.

I completely respect your opinions regarding many aspect of this class of ship from Celebrity and I agree with many of them. Upon announcement of the Edge Class I was so disappointed with the fact that Celebrity fell into the Ship within a Ship concept but I embraced it as a Sky Suite passenger on a maiden year voyage. I found The Retreat to be a separated area but not a separate class. After being on another Edge Class sailing not in The Retreat, I did not even realize it was there. Yes, a forward viewing lounge would be preferred.
The vibe of the ships out perform that of other premium class ships in several areas. The design and marketing of the Edge Class is completely different from the traditional cruiser and even those that are experience Solstice Class fans like myself. Celebrity is marketing to a very different demographic for Edge and I think they have done a great job introducing a new segment. This is NOT for the Solstice Class or Holland America / Princess cruiser. That was by design. There is a cruise line out there for everyone and Edge Class is something very new. Virgin Voyages is experiencing this now as well but with a separate new demographic for premium experiences.
I love that there is something out there for all of us and that we have such amazing choices. I had a wonderful time very recently on HAL Rotterdam and would highly recommend it to the right traveler. They are an amazing line for the right person and I think Edge Class is as well. I have met other Celebrity fans that feel the same as you regarding Edge Class and that is great! This is a new experience for Celebrity and they are excelling in some areas and need to rethink the new strategies for others. Thanks so much for watching and for sharing! I really appreciate your comments and thoughts!

@@seemoreseascruises3791 I understand the new direction for the Edge. But what happens with the class after the Edge and the Millennium ships get sold off and then the Solstice class? As a Celebrity fan, especially of the Century class, where does one go looking for that Celebrity? Will the next class blend the best of Solstice or Edge or move into more ship within a ship and continue on with Edge features?
For me all Celebrity needs to do is put a few smaller lounges on the Edge ship and a smaller version of the Sky Lounge. I'm not so sure about Eden either but time will tell how much it is a novelty vs. something that people will seek out on Celebrity. I thought the original idea was for interactive entertainment but that's been scaled back.
Thanks for responding as I know my comments were critical of the class. It really isn't for the Celebrity/HAL type of cruiser like myself.

@@benjaminsmith2287 I would completely agree with your suggestions. Those changes and additions would make it much more attractive and familiar to the Celebrity loyalists. Time will tell on their attempt to shift their demographic. So far I do not think that they have hit their mark due to the mixed reviews.
