Love the Edge. We were on it with Capt Kate in Aug 2019 doing a Mediterranean Cruise and are going on it again in mid-Feb. We even booked the exact same cabin as last time, reason why ? - it's only about 45 seconds away from the best Bar on the ship, The Martini Bar. Had quite a few terrific nights there. Looking forward to it so much !!!!!
Hi Couldn't agree with you more. I was The Edge last November/December on a repositioning cruise from Rome to Sydney. Yes, it has it's flaws, poor prior information re port locations, whether taxis are available in ports. Info on dress code etc. However, these are minor criticism when compared to the cruise as a whole. The biggest asset to the ship is Giuseppe and Capt Matt Their people skills are above excellent. They made the cruise great Food excellent, shows in the theatre as good as in London or New York. Cleanliness wow Design of ship. Art pieces especially pearl ship piece top floor of the atrium. Le Petit Chef. The design of the theatre. The magic carpet. The art pieces in the rooms. The chocolates on the pillows. The design and size of the bathrooms. My Edge holiday was so enjoyable I booked a cruise with Celebrity to Alaska in June and a second to Japan later this year
We are going on the sister ship, Apex, in 4 months, transatlantic from Florida to the UK. These ships look more and more incredible each time I watch content about them.
Subject: Urgent ! We are writing and warming you regarding our recent experience on the Celebrity Edge Cruise to the Great Barrier, dated 22/10/2024. Upon our return home, I was diagnosed with a throat infection and still have it a week later, which my doctor confirmed is likely due to inhaling soot from the ship’s engines while we were on the sun loungers. Additionally, my wife suffered from nausea and dizziness during our time on board detracting significantly from what was supposed to be an enjoyable experience. I also have a video documenting the heavy soot situation, which I can provide upon request. The Captain has been informed of our concerns; however, we feel it is important to formally request a full refund due to the serious health issues we encountered. Considering the circumstances, we believe this is a reasonable resolution. I also have a video documenting the heavy soot situation, which I can provide upon request. Thank you for your understanding, and we eagerly await for you to caution your Viewers. We appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your prompt response.
Hi - appreciate your comments. Yes, we had a White Party on one night, although we only found out after we boarded! On our 12 night cruise there were 2 'chic' nights (formal by any other name) but the interpretation was very wide, some guests wore t-shirts, many were in suits / jackets and a small number wore dinner dress.
@@clinthong510 They didn't tell us in advance, it'll depend upon the itenerary but for us it was the second and eighth nights of a twelve night cruise.
Hi thank you for sharing this informative video, can you tell me what the availability of sunbeds was like?did you ever struggle to get one around the main pool?
Hi, yes around the main pool at pool level it can be an issue on sea days especially. There are usually beds to be had on the deck above and overlooking the pool. To be fair I don't believe the Edge is unique in this respect.
Hi Guys, really enjoyed this video. We are booked in for a November cruise from Sydney to New Zealand. Is the 2 bottle of wine that you are allowed to take on, per couple or each suitcase. Cheers David
Hi there, it's per stateroom I'm afraid! Our experience is that the eaiest was to take it on is in your hand luggage, if you do put it in your suitcase then we have had instances where they retain your cases at security, don't deliver them to your stateroom, and you have to go and open them up in front of security staff to prove you only have 2 bottles.
I am going on my 1st cruise ever Alaska...can you carry bottle water in main luggage..would i really need wifi ...i will be with others that did pay inadvance for it....will there be dress up dining or i saw you said wearing white i think it may be little chilli in July...but i am excited
No to water, but no need to purchase it on board. Plenty of stations with free perfectly tasty water. Wifi, personal choice, but I would book prior to the cruise just so that you could upload photos to cloud and leave room on your phone for more. Dress code, smart casual, no need for the long ball gown or suit. Just tasteful attire. Something you could dress down for day and dress up for special occasions. Unless of course, you are booking the superior suites and dressing up is your thing. Others will do the same
I find this class of ship missing one main ingredient that is a staple on cruise ships: inside elegant lounges. The Club is more like a nightclub. Cafe Bacio is a coffee bar. Craft Social is a sports bar. Eden is a multipurpose space but not a lounge. There is nothing like a proper elegant lounge on the whole ship interior. Also the Martini Bar has gone from a 1930's style intimate club feel to the more part of the hotel lobby center feel. As a long-time Celebrity cruiser who cruises for the feel/ambiance of lounges, this is a huge letdown. There's also no library, card room, and on the Solstice class there was a quiet area called the Hideaway. This ship adds Eden and the magic carpet. The food that is in the specialty lounges used to be in the main dining rooms on Celebrity of the early to mid 1990s.
I watched a video of the edge from 5 years ago and the folding doors in the infinite Verandah room were clear. I don’t know why they are now obscured it makes no sense to me
Great video thanks for sharing and putting together.

Hope you have a wonderful time, we are very jealous.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'll sail on this ship in two weeks time, just want to know if they have any theme night?

Want to take the edge to Alaska but scared of everything I’ve heard about the food being just no good and cold. How was the food?
Food was generally excellent, no complaints, we really liked the choice of 4 mian dining rooms and varied menus.

I thought it was 2 bottles per person per cabin
No, policy is 2 bottles per stateroom.
