Yes, awesome fixture for milling out a large section of material out of thin material. I like that you used uhmw and the brass clamps. Very cool! Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure! The zero is set at the far edge of the part and the end of the part after the dowel has been removed - so the edge of the dowel, essentially. Works to within .005 which is more than good enough for this application! They’re covers for some kind of office furniture components.
"As long as you remember to remove the pin". It always sucks crashing your machine but production runs are weird... Doing the same thing over and over in short run times has a tendency to shut off your brain cells 😨
Oh yeah! We had another fixture for doing another extrusion 4 pc at a time that used 4 of these pins, and I’ll never forget the sound or sense of dread when you’re 15 years old and hear the machine behind you start crunching. If you look closely, you can see I’ve welded the head back on this pin a time or two!

Thank you sir!
Quick and easy. I have no complaints or questions. Good to see you man and happy new year from Cleveland OH
Happy new year brother, thanks as always!
Thank you for this. Where do you set your WCS on this fixture? The dowel pin or a hole on the fixture itself. Keep them coming please.
