Such a pleasure to have Forrest on the show! Really enjoyed this chat and hopefully it can help you to better understand if data science or SWE is right for you! Great interview 🤙 I'm recently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Computer Science and Data Science 😄 I couldnt decide which major would be better so decided to just do both lol
This was extremely helpful!! thank you both, watch you guys content all the time. I was really struggling to decide whether to do my Honours in Software Engineering or Data Science. After this I have figured it out!
Great video. Thank you both. I am in to data engineering(Hadoop/Spark/Scala) for many years and really enjoy what I am doing and also I have equal interest in data science as well.. Wondering if I should upskill myself more on Data Engineering and move towards architect roles (or) shift to Data science and explore other side of things? Would like to hear your thoughts on this.
Thanks for sharing, both of you. My situation is I'm a computer engineering major, junior year, and I like both hardware and software, especially the cutting edge technology stuff like ML/DL. My interest are spread way too thin but I feel like I just need to take my time experiencing all these fields to get an idea of what I want to do. I'm definitely a "live to work" type person as Ken said. I really enjoy learning and creating. Hearing your experiences are motivating and enlightening! Keep it up the hard work! It's much appreciated!
Got his start by documenting his journey in computer science 👀 hm sounds familiar. Does your comment scoring work on this channel too? Maybe that could incentivise more people to come to the podcast.
