Sorry, but 90% of this is simply not true..... Here's the REAL facts verses what is in the video... :24 King Philip did NOT order 3 ships to be built, he simply gave permission to Tomas Cardona and associates to launch his expedition, and he, Cardona, had 6 ships built. 3 did not make it to the Caribbean and his nephew Nicholas commanded the affair, Tomas never left Spain for this expedition. :48 They left in July of 1613 Iturbe was not part of the expedition, Captain Francisco Basilio was.. :1:18 Natural pearls, or baroque as they are called, of this time were anything but "perfectly round and black." The most known of these pearls was called La Peregrina, which graced the neck of Mary I and Elizabeth Taylor. It was a near perfect teardrop shape with an original weight of 223.8 grains (55.95 karats/ 11.2g), and at that time was recognized as the largest pearl ever found. But this was found in the 16th century not the 17th. and not black... It later sold for nearly $12 million dollars after Taylor's death. 1:20-2:30 Why would they "trade pearls" when they had divers? Yes it's easier, but you're missing a big fact, something that only came to light in the last year or so. The reason Cardona was allowed the license for pearl fishing, is because he had in his possession one of the earliest diving suits known. This is also why he sold his ships and traveled overland, that way it wouldn't become lost at sea, sinking ship, or find it's way into the hands of pirates. . It was near Mexico City that Basilio fell ill and died and this is where they picked up Iturbe, not Spain. When they reached Acapulco Cardona had 3 new ships built, the San Francisco, the San Antonio and the San Diego, all were frigates... 1:55 I have no knowledge of Cardona being shot with an arrow... Not saying it didn't happen, but I'd like to know the source of this story. I have Cardona stopping at Mazatlan and sending the other two ships to Acapulco. However, on the night of October 25th, Dutch pirate Spilbergen spotted the San Francisco along the coast, and by morning the ship was his. Spilbergen didn’t get a great booty out of the capture, in fact he stated: "This vessel was laden only with a few pieces of furniture of little importance, and with some provisions, which were dealt out amongst our ships. She had been out fishing for pearls, but had caught nothing; was well equipped with four metal guns and two small mortars, some hooks and other arms and ammunition, so that she seemed to have been fitted out for war rather than for fishing. (East and West Indian Mirror by Joris Van Spilbergen page 110)' 2:55 The Colorado River does not intersect Lake Cahuilla/Salton Sea except for period floodings and that would be from the south end only. It does not connect anywhere north of Yuma. I won't go any further because Iturbe ( pronounced eh-tur-bay), never entered the river and or lake/sea. The archives show that he returned to Acapulco with his ship.... This is almost word for word from the article in the San Diego reader... 😃I was all into it. Until the link 🙄😠🤦🏻♂️ turn out like the info he said about the vid lol Still in to this story not much left at all in world to discover or watch or read. Specially when you can drive to locations to me not much one can Goonie on in the desert west 😆
you left something out,..back during 1600 when he was up here when he started his trip back, there was a storm, and a earthquake all at once, that stranded him and the ship of pearls and the ship to this day can still be seen between the salton sea and the california superstition mountains,....oh yes calif has superstition mountains like arizona does as well,...
I'm sorry, but that doesn't make much sense to me. Back then, the river would change course and dry up at times. That makes much more sense to me and what I've heard and read.
So best to find it then or now ? Or more likely to what you find is taken from you right so if any one finds it best to stay quiet 🤫. Sound like cool mysteries. Could be found just not reported I’m guessing?
100% of your introductory dialog, (and the text written above), was taken from my article in the San Diego Reader. Besides violating my copyright, it's just bad manners to take someone else's research and not give them credit for it. By the way what I wrote IS NOT MYTH. It is documented history.
I know where the ship ended up at , found it on satilite 4/2/2009 now since found they add new images Ship was there in 1961 because thats in 1958 they had only one Satilite in 1961 they added 115 more , would like to tell this man the story i read close to his and how i found it and then make another video telling all of it 2.8 miles from Mojave River 1.5 miles from Calico Ghost Town
I looked at that location on google maps. The elevation is about 1900 ft above sea level. A low lying river or wave could not have placed a ship that high. Also there are many mountain ranges between the Gulf of California and Calico. Too many to successfully navigate to that area.
I just saw a shiplike impression in the ground just south of Calico and east of Barstow. You have to zoom in and whether it is a ship or not I have zero idea as I'm in GA, but it looks really neat.
I’m talking about Spanish shipwreck Trinidad in San Diego you ever wonder why the Scripps family has had so much curse put upon their family and deaths don’t believe a word I say but hey they pillage that treasure and didn’t tell anyone about it either I know where the shipwreck is500,000 I’ll tell anyone where the wreck is probably no treasure left though
I’m interested who don’t want gold lol no joke it’s more likely dirty blood on it. I don’t want nothing past on to my kid. It be experience just to find it what left. To good to be true to be able to walk in it. All the Gooneis and Jon’s dreams are gone nothing left to discover 🤷🏻♂️😏specially in the western desert lol. Just meteors in the desert of silence that’s if don’t get robbed or the cartel get you or traffic in Mexico 😅
Hey Steven, Wondering where you staked claims along Cumberland pass. I have a patented claim there, and want to know if you staked the neighboring land. Please let me know if I can beam you a map of my land, or if you can beam me a map of where you've worked between the top of Cumberland and napoleon pass and the town of Tin cup?
