Absolutely awesome, when you consider just how much work went into making this, it really does give a great snapshot as to just how dangerous abandoned mines are but it also shows all of the cool history behind how these mines came into being in the first place and their individual histories. Thank you Frank it was amazing to watch. x❤x
I have been mining coal underground since 2007,I found out about your channel in 2015 and have watched every video including Anyox several times. My favorite by far! I have realized that 2014 was a long time ago and we're both going to spend the rest of our lives underground doing what we love. Thanks for a look back can't wait for the next 5+ years with ya Frank
Back in '93 I was on a team rugby tour to Wales . One of the touristy destinations was Big Pit Mine in Blaenavon. It was an unreal experience. The whole team way down underground walking around with an old retired coal miner giving us a tour and telling stories. Memory for a lifetime. Great channel. Thank you!
This is so well done! Bravo Frank! This is you! People will watch your videos for a thousand years and beyond! As you said, these mines will close up and all humanity will have are videos like these.
Wow! You really stepped up the video and editing quality on this one. Thanks for uploading weekly! Great documentation and content and it’s only getting better and better
Fantastic Frank thanks for posting it as I now get a chance of watching the documentary and it was excellent just finished watching and enjoyed it alot
Imagine what Anyox would be like if it wasn't blown up by them! There's already miles of tunnels but it must've been truly massive before that. Anyox always fascinated me since your 1st visit, practically untouched since they left it. Real shame the town burnt down.
The documentary is brilliant, so interesting and put together beautifully. I watched it a couple of times when it was first released because it’s so fascinating. Frank documents the history and tells the story so well. I haven’t revisited it in a while as there are so many of Frank’s exciting escapades to watch and of course always something new every week. I absolutely loved watching this again. I like the story of how Frank’s interest began and progressed. The amazing history of the towns and the mines, with photographs from the period. The beautiful scenic landscape shots, as well as all the amazing artefacts, machinery, miners art and awesome rock formations and colours. The documentary brought everything together and really portrays Frank and what he does. 🤩 🤩
@@exploringabandonedmines Thanks Frank. I thought it a good opportunity for new subscribers to get an insight into what you do, and I really enjoyed watching it ❤
My great great great grandparents lived in Phoenix Arizona before they passed but I remember going to visit and my grandpa telling us countless stories of the mining towns that littered the state but now there's no trace really and me being the explorer at heart he made it a point to tell me that mines abandoned or not is no place for a lady like me. I miss his stories. Thanks for your hard work and taking thousands of people with you on your adventures
This was even better than the professional documentary! And you get to keep the part about drinking the beer to lighten the load!😂 Fantastic job, Frank!
You have an awesome channel ! I use to explore caves here in Kansas in my younger years ! I'll be 65 in May ! Thank you for all the hard and dangerous work that you do ! Please stay safe out there !
Thanks, Frank, keep doing what you love to do! So, your back in the green, and wet again. Those dry mines were nice, but you find more up north, or so it seems.
I lived in Vancouver for many years and got very interesting in BC mining history so I really appreciate what you're doing Frank, nice work. Most of what you're showing is hidden from almost everyone so it's cool to see things that we otherwise wouldn't. In the South Island of New Zealand most of the mine shafts are flooded so these areas are mostly inaccessible but still interesting. Cheers Frank,I hope to see many more vids from you, the collaboration with Gly was fun too.
Frank, it's a amazing and mind blowing amount of effort you put in your videos. That's what we like and appreciate. Keep up the good work👌👍 Stay safe, have fun and thank you for the hours and hours of enjoyment and info I got out of your videos. ❤️
hi frank,following/subscribed your channel for a few years and you are a hell of a good explorer, you went into area's were noboby would go,but you are living also in an area that many people like i would live in i guess living so close against nature it's a gift...enjoyed it because many people don't have the opportuntity like you, belgian greetings ;)
Hello From New Orleans Louisiana! I cant stop till I'm all caught up on EVERY video. No mines here as we're below sea level. Came here from Gly's channel!
Awesome story just amazing history you really do a great job in representing the history of the mines etc think it’s so cool your keeping the stories an history alive for the next generations to look back on you sir are the keeper of the mines in my opinion 👍 thanks frank as always be safe
Grate stuff Frank. Can't wait to see it over here in the UK, Not much to document here in South Wales as when a mine was closed the shafts were caped off towards the top and most of the land was reused or they would demolish the buildings and turn it into parkland. There are a few mining museums but only one where you can go on a proper underground tour. keep up the good work and stay safe.
I live in Australia when I was 19 we went to hill end an old gold mining area when we got there in the middle of the night and got straight into the mines we we're that keen ,we figured other it's black outside so we my as well go down the mines and use our torch power in them ,thanks for sharing your passion with us Frank
mate you make this video look like one of my nightmares you have some guts but if you don't do it we cannot see it and those people who put the thumbs down shame on you for these mens hard work and bravery
Awesome documentary. As always looking forward to the next. You should get together with Burns and make a big documentary about mines and the impact that they had in the building of this great country.
Seu canal é muito legal,é impressionante a profundidade em que vocês circulam e cada buraco explorado é uma emoção maior ainda de ver tudo que foi deixado para trás ao longo do tempo em que o pessoal trabalhava.
Wow the sound of that rock falling at the end of the video was chilling, your an inspiration Frank, I would enjoy having a few Beers with you. Going to take my Summer Holidays to the Mines. My sister has a House about 5 K's form the Planet Mine near Merrit. Cool Documentary, thanks for the Videos.
Frank, my dad was a mining engineer educated at the Montana School of Mines in Butte Montana. For that, I grew up all over the world as his jobs took him to some pretty exotic locales. To me, Peru is still where all of my fondest memories are, not only of my parents, but of the things I saw and did. Dad used to take me exploring some of the ancient Inca mines in the high Andes of central Peru, fascinating is an understatement. Some of the things I saw and did with my dad stay with me today many years after the events. I would be most interesting to have a conversation with you. Regards, Scott B
Great work! From the Whitlock gold mining district in Mariposa county, California. Living at the site of the states first quartz overshot water mill, 1849. Originally drove 6 arrastra's.
Very interesting and I couldn't agree more with you about the 2 sides too the story. It's definitely sad to see those towns and their history dissapear so quickly but it's very amazing how fast mother nature can fix our messes . I also loved your closing statement about your idea of a vacation. My idea of vacation is working in the woods or making small square bale hay with my 1950s and 60s farm machinery
I find myself living through you brother. I am a novice mine explorer here where I live near Tuscon arizona. My physical abilities are slow due to medical issues but I won't let that stop me from living until the good Lord calls me home. Thank you for your tiresome work making and producing these amazing videos. I admire your work ethic. God bless you my friend.
15:20 Wow bet that was a little scary, flooding the exit. Not something you would really think about in the process of being excited exploring. Bet you think about that now anytime you run into that situation in the future. Stay safe down there
Need to come to Michigan's Upper Peninsula lots of Abandoned copper and Iron mine's. The largest copper nugget ever found came from Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
This is the documentary we made last year for Telus called UNDERMINE. I was editing it on TH-cam but instead of changing the original video it posted a new one. Oh well I will leave it up for those that didn't see the original one last year.
My god I wish I lived near you I could have so much fun love your videos the other thing is I’m 70 years old so the mind is willing but the body is probably a bit weak good luck to you and Sharon keep up the good work regards from England
Love the histor you tell on the mines i wish i could come out with u i should save up and id love to tag along with u .masachusets we have quarrys i love exploring them and get so into history of every thing i find and explor exploring a compleat abandond town is amazing i love the ones wher it apears they whent home im
My only complaint is that it is taking FOREVER to go back and watch all your old videos. My gosh you have a lot of them. All very good, but also time consuming. Its like eating an elephant. One bite at a time. Keep up the good work!
The mines are awesome, the mountain views are awesome BUT the best thing is Frank's commentary as he explores the mines......wish they didn't put music over a lot of the filming. But I guess the answer to that is folks go check out Frank's original series of videos on Pheonix & Annyox, really recommend those videos after the taster that this 17minutes gives us.
Haven't watched TV for months now, but no need when we have high quality content like this on TH-cam.
Thank You, Frank for Documenting History - That Would Be Lost if Not Recorded and Past On... Stay Safe, God Bless...
This is one of the most interesting shows .....anywhere!!!! Thank you Frank & Team
