    It really is that fill that these backing vocals and instruments give that complete songs. It’s sounds you won’t even recognize but they add so much!!

    Due to your wonderful remix and the recent three hour radio interview you hosted featuring Andante Louvain Demps, I have come to appreciate the very significant role they played along with the Funk Brothers in helping make so many of the Tamla/Motown sides they recorded into million sellers! Thanks for posting this.

    Motown.... a collection of amazing talent. My goodness !!
    I grew up listening to this stuff you're not knowing how all of the components work together. But the Adantes we're so damn good. They made the Motown "headline star cast" better.

    They deserve all the recognition they get and have every right to be proud of their accomplishment. We all know those records would not have been hits without the background vocals and great playing in the studio by the Funk Brothers, etc. This is a most interesting presentation. My only question is why with all the great songwriters they had at Motown someone could not at least have given them a few real gems on the level of a "Jimmy Mack" or "Floy Joy" or "Stoned Love". They needed songwriters who knew how to cast them for the right song.. Nothing against "Like a Nightmare" but it was too adult for a label boasting to be the "sound of young America" and it needed a stronger hook. They are legends anyway on a scale few background artists have achieved.

      Motown's goal was to make sure the Andantes never got a hit release. They needed them in studio more.

    They sang back-up on every song of The Love Child LP, not Mary & Cindy!
    Berry wanted the LP to have more lift than the other two ladies could muster, so too, to help move Diane's career along eventually shoving them out of the spotlight!
    #dianarosspu!

    • @Jazzybleu1
      @Jazzybleu1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually that isn't true. Mary and Cindy sang backing vocals on three of the songs on this album. As well as backing vocals on several of the album's songs by Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson.

    The Andantes not Mary or Cindy did all the Diana backround vocals after Flo left the Supremes. Reflections, Love Child,The Happening, Someday etc...
