Motown music is the best. The instrumentalists were impeccable. The melodies are triumphant, uplifting, and hopeful. It touches my soul.

The FOUNDATION of "the Motown Sound", The Funk Brothers, lead often by Mike Terry and his bold baritone sax. I can sing along with all of these grooves from my boyhood days. Major Props

Barely ever remember hearing about this unbelievable instrumental group. Just really began to hear and appreciate their gift to us. Amazing what they bring to already the best. Why can't some artist bring at least an updated version of Funk . But maybe I know answer. Nobody can come anywhere close

There's some funky stuff out there like sound stylistics city champs vulfpeck but it's amazingly difficult to mirror the funk bros! I heard they moonlighted playing in jazz clubs most nights. Boy to hear that stuff would be awesome!

Brilliant musos, who were treated badly and taken for granted by Berry Gordy. Paid a pittance, no wonder they moonlighted for the likes of the great Jackie Wilson and many more. Gordy wasn`t the only one of course, stuff like this was common place, watch Teddy Pendergrass` story and John Fogarty`s years long battle to be able to play his own music again after his nasty split from the other members of Creedence.

there usually were, that is why beginning drummers had such a hard time trying to do the sound. I think the only one who played alone was Papa Zita

krystal-gob - It is the same soundtrack that was used for David Ruffin's version of the song back in 1969! You could find that version on TH-cam or in David Ruffin's classic album My Whole World Ended which went to #1 on the R&B charts!
