Growling Pete 310 Heil Formula 5000 Rear Loader

- Here is one of a few trucks I was hoping to find with Bryn from Sunshine. 310 F5000s were always a favorite of mine and after finding 1 over a year and a half ago doing commercial, I wanted to find some residential ones. Fortunately, I was able to do just that. These lived up to every hope I had and then some. Arguably the loudest truck I've ever filmed and by far the loudest 310 I've ever seen.
These are actually EX-BDI trucks from 1988/89 (Not sure exactly which year). Back in the day these old Pete Heils used to roam Washington but have all vanished. Fortunately some still survive, this being one of the last ones. Not often you see a truck pumping out smoke regularly and giving off such a classic sound. The hopper seal on the tailgate failing along with the slow packer really give it that old, worn down, work horse type feel to the truck. WOW! This video is one of the best I've seen in some time. A growling 310 mixed with a formula 5000 body is a combo you can't beat! There seems to be a feeling this truck gives me thats like no other truck! On top of all of that, you filmed my favorite collection method. 1 man crew on a rear loader doing yard waste. Was this the same truck from "Once a Month Wheat Field Route" video? Once again, quality work, Alan!

West Coast Refuse Trucks haha. No problem man! This company runs so many cool trucks. Multiple 310 heils and Multitasks +more trucks i dont know about. That 7000 was also nice. Seems like this company definetly loves their heils

There is a very good chance that when I am done watching this video I will buy a round trip plane ticket to Idaho just to film this truck.
And when you do film it, make sure to get it running through all the gears.

Wow what a truck! Awesome, awesome job on this. That's so cool how these are ex-BDI, glad they spec'd them out this way because I really like how small these trucks look lol The sound of the brake release is one of my favorite things about the truck, that's super nostalgic for me. That 7000 was really cool too, quick arm and glad they replaced the grippers on it too. Neat sticker on it too. Clip at 7:23 was awesome, glad you got that! Driver sure was a hustler but can't go too fast with manual greens lol really looked like most of the carts were damn heavy with all the grass. What a great find bro, nice work!

West Coast Refuse Trucks not yet, were demoing some new ones because yard waste is going automated later this year.
Devin Webber that’s pretty cool, do you know what trucks you guys have been demoing? My friend and I have another trip planned out your way one last time in August before these oldies get replaced, hard to find some old school trucks like these now a days
